Urban Soldier Young Master

Chapter 862 - 861: Taking Action

Chapter 862 - 861: Taking Action

The phone was quickly connected, and Chu Ge meticulously went over his plan. Chen Jue also took the matter very seriously. Although the situation wasn't complicated, the two of them discussed it over the phone for a good ten-plus minutes, considering every possible scenario and refining the plan as much as possible before ending the call.9:00 AM, Lidu City Public Security Bureau, Criminal Police Brigade.

Lin Gaoze had just walked into the office when his phone rang. He glanced at the number, and the slight bloodshot in his eyes narrowed, with a hint of expectation on his weary face covered with stubble.

In the past few days, or to be precise, ever since the last call with Chu Ge, Lin Gaoze had been in an utterly terrible mood.

The rapid-fire voice of Chu Ge was still ringing in his ears. Chu Ge had told him not to ask too many questions or interfere, promising he'd explain later. However, the only news he had received about Chu Ge since then was the shocking news of Chu Ge's death!

It was Mu Lingshan who had broken the news to him.

When Mu Lingshan mentioned it, she was smiling as if it were some big joke. In fact, at first, he couldn't believe Chu Ge was dead, not even for a second.

The only thing that left him slightly uneasy was that last phone call from Chu Ge.

But they say good people don't live long, while troublemakers persist for a millennium. That rogue, who was both righteous and villainous, so cunning that it gave people headaches, and so arrogant it made people's teeth itch, yet somehow full of genuine emotion, couldn't simply vanish just like that, could he?

Drowned in water? Utter nonsense!

Lin Gaoze even thought that if there really was a netherworld, they might not even want to accept someone like Chu Ge!

But... so many days had passed, and this guy really seemed to have vanished from the face of the earth. Despite the intense efforts they put into the search, and despite having secretly tracked the South Koreans who held grudges against Chu Ge, they found no trace.

Lin Gaoze was internally tormented. He didn't even dare face Mu Lingshan. Several times he wanted to tell Mu Lingshan about that phone call, yet he never did.

Lin Gaoze knew that Chu Ge had a good relationship with Chen Jue. Receiving Chen Jue's call now, a glimmer of hope appeared in his heart, hoping Chen Jue would tell him that Chu Ge was absolutely fine.

Taking a breath, Lin Gaoze answered the phone.

"Hello."

"Captain Lin, I want to provide you with a lead that I believe you will be interested in."

Lin Gaoze's eyes brightened, instinctively straightening slightly in his chair, and his right hand holding the phone tightened somewhat. "Cut the nonsense. Is there news about Chu Ge?"

"Haha, sorry to disappoint you, Captain Lin. What I want to discuss is about a case."

Normally, hearing the word "case" would naturally excite Lin Gaoze. However, right now, he felt a wave of disappointment and irritation. The only thing he cared about now was the news about Chu Ge.

"Get to the point."

"Captain Lin, there's a Xinbo Printing Factory on the outskirts of the city. I'm sure there's an issue there, and it's a significant one. Here's the detail..."

After Lin Gaoze hung up the phone, he frowned deeply, pondering for a long time, filled with hesitation and doubt.

It took him a full half-hour, he finally took a deep breath, a resolve flickering in his eyes, picked up the internal phone, and began to organize a plan methodically.

At 10 sharp, on the seventh floor of an office building, Zhiling Headhunting Company.

Li Zheming leisurely sat in the boss chair, his gaze through the wide floor-to-ceiling windows looking into the distance, towards the direction of his father and his Taekwondo teacher's country.

"Soon, very soon... it won't be long now, haha, hahaha!"

Li Zheming murmured a few words, a smug smile appearing on his face. The phone on the desk suddenly rang. He picked it up, and the receptionist's voice came through.

"President Li, two gentlemen from the tax bureau have gone to President Meng's office."

"Hmm? Got it."

Li Zheming was slightly taken aback but didn't pay too much attention. He hung up the phone and continued to gaze out the window, his eyes gleaming with a mix of fervor and pride, continuing to ponder his own matters.

After all, he's the behind-the-scenes owner of the company, with Meng Qun as a front to handle anything requiring public appearances.

A few minutes passed, and suddenly, the door to his room was pushed open. At the door stood the puppet boss, Meng Qun, and two middle-aged men in white shirts, suit trousers, holding briefcases, clearly government officials.

What the hell? Did I let you in? What the heck is Meng Qun doing? Doesn't he know I don't feel like dealing with these people?

Li Zheming slightly frowned, glanced at Meng Qun, and despite his much-restrained dissatisfaction, he didn't get up from his chair, turning his gaze to the two tax bureau people.

"Gentlemen, you enter without knocking or getting my permission. Isn't that quite impolite?"

Hearing what Li Zheming said, the two tax people couldn't help but be a little taken aback.

What the hell? This young guy has quite the attitude! Is this Meng Qun the boss, or is this young guy the boss?

Even though their positions aren't high, they're still representing a government agency doing their job. What's wrong with just looking around? Who is this young guy putting on a face for?

Besides, they were both comfortably sitting in an office with the air conditioning on, sipping tea, and reading the newspaper, when they suddenly received this directive. They weren't happy about it, as if they wanted to be out there.

Li Zheming was in a bad mood, and they weren't about to coddle him either. With a businesslike expression, they coldly explained their purpose of being there, and considered themselves to have squared off with Li Zheming.

Their task was to verify the identity information and salary details of all employees at Zhiling Company and insisted that everyone be present.

Li Zheming was even less pleased and questioned them on the spot, "We haven't been negligent with any of the taxes we should pay, so what's this about?"

Seeing Li Zheming's attitude, the two people from the tax bureau looked even worse. It was Meng Qun who smoothed things over with a smile and some kind words that stopped them from getting into a quarrel with Li Zheming then and there. They left with a snort.

Initially, the two intended to go through the motions and report back, but this time they changed their minds. If even one employee of Zhiling Company didn't show up, they weren't leaving.

Meanwhile, not far from the back gate of the Xinbo Printing Factory on the outskirts of the city, several inconspicuous vans pulled up one after another.

Lin Gaoze was sitting in one of the vans, appearing calm on the surface, but his heart was pounding, and his palms were slightly sweaty.

Because this was a gamble, a risky venture, and he wasn't sure what the outcome would be.

As time ticked by, even with Lin Gaoze's strong mental resilience, he started to feel restless and was tempted to issue the command several times, but restrained himself each time.

It's so damn hot, why is it so hot?

Finally, Lin Gaoze's phone vibrated. He glanced down, took a deep breath, undid the top two buttons of his shirt, a sharp gleam flashed in his eyes, and he swiftly opened the car door and raised the walkie-talkie to his mouth.

"Action!"

With the order given, the van doors opened in quick succession, and a dozen police officers, carrying two folding ladders, followed closely behind Lin Gaoze, rushing toward the wall by the factory's back gate.

The two ladders were set up against the wall, and a dozen police officers quickly climbed up, jumping over the wall to the ground below. Just twenty meters ahead was the warehouse that Chu Ge had investigated the night before.

Several security guards were smoking nearby, and turned around simultaneously upon hearing the noise from below the wall.

"What are you doing!"

No sooner had one of the security guards asked when Lin Gaoze, leading the charge, raised the gun in his hand and aimed the dark muzzle at his head.

"Police business! Shut up, open the door!"

The security guard's eyes darted around, and instead of complying with Lin Gaoze, he shouted out loud.

"What, just because you're police, you can…"

Lin Gaoze was initially unsure, but seeing the security guard's response, he felt more at ease. With a cold sneer, he punched the guard in the mouth, swallowing his words, and immediately raised the gun high, using the body of the gun to strike the guard's head heavily.

With a dull thud, the security guard's eyes rolled back, and he collapsed to the ground.

The surrounding security guards obviously hadn't expected Lin Gaoze to suddenly act and with such force, were momentarily stunned, then started shouting wildly.

"Help! The police are killing us! Somebody help!"

Not only were these guards shouting, but the big German shepherd tethered by the warehouse also began barking furiously, turning the area around the warehouse into a chaotic scene.

Lin Gaoze didn't have time to deal with these small fry, waving his hand, all the officers quickly approached the warehouse door, unlocking the safeties on their black guns, and the metallic sounds of their actions filled the air.

Seeing that the police were ignoring them, one guard quickly pulled out a phone, while another sped towards the German shepherd.

Just as one guard was about to make a call and another was reaching to unleash the dog, a loud "bang" echoed in the air.

It was the sound of a gunshot, fired from the gun in Lin Gaoze's hand.

"Plop."

The guard with the phone trembled, dropping it to the ground, while the other trying to free the dog froze in place with a gasp, and all the shouting guards fell silent.

"Bang!"

Another gunshot, again fired by Lin Gaoze.
