Chapter 465 Harry's Progress
Chapter 465 Harry's Progress
Kreacher led Harry and his two friends to a small brick house covered in vines. Unlike the dilapidated exterior, the house was very clean inside, and there was even some new furniture. Clearly, the signs of human activity were very recent.
"Has Sirius been staying here lately?" Hermione looked around the room, and although she didn't see a bed, she couldn't help but ask.
“This is just a hunting lodge!” Kreacher shrieked. “Even if I can’t go back to Grimmauld Place, my master’s family still has several houses!”
“Oh…” Hermione lowered her head, a little embarrassed, because Yaxley had grabbed her foot to enter Grimmauld Place.
"Alright, what's with the smugness?" Ron squeezed between the two, looking down on Kreacher with disdain. "It belongs to your master, not you."
“Alright, Ron, alright…” Hermione stopped Ron. Firstly, she did feel guilty, and secondly, she felt sorry for Kreacher, a feeling that reached its peak after they listened to Kreacher’s story of RAB with Sirius in August.
Harry didn't pay much attention to them, or rather, he couldn't hear what anyone was saying at all. He was focused on placing Sadorine on the only recliner in the room, feeling both ashamed and at peace.
Finally, a sin related to him has been put to rest.
Harry thought this way, and he was also deeply tormented by Sadorine's death, believing that Voldemort's curse would not have appeared in that place if he hadn't been captured.
Now, he is indeed looking for one last chance, and it is an extremely important task, but that does not mean he can take it for granted that he can ignore all his past.
Harry wanted to take Sadorine away from the beginning to atone for the sin he had caused. This idea had nothing to do with Horcruxes; it just so happened that he sensed that Sadorine had a Horcrux.
Fortunately, Sadorine carried the aura of a Horcrux; otherwise, even if Harry had made up his mind, he would have found it difficult to act, as he still had his living friends by his side to protect him.
Oh, Horcruxes.
Harry finally remembered what he was doing and immediately noticed the conspicuous ruby ring on Sadorine's hand.
He instinctively reached out, only realizing he shouldn't have touched a girl so abruptly when he was about to. He had carried Sadorine the whole way, that was only because he was strong. In that emergency, that kind of strength should naturally be given to him or Ron.
“Hermione,” Harry called softly, pulling himself out of his reverie, “Could you please remove what’s on her? I can sense the Horcrux.”
“No problem.” Hermione walked over, while Ron and Kreacher exchanged a glare before looking away.
“This ring, she’s never had it before, not in any of the many times I’ve seen her.” Harry pointed to Sadorine’s hand hanging by her side, trying hard not to look at the peaceful face on it. It was a sad thing to associate that seemingly still-alive expression with death.
“I know… I wonder if it could be this…” Hermione walked over, her voice growing softer and softer. She was filled with pity for the dead girl, so her movements as she took off the ring were unusually gentle.
"Here you go, Harry!"
"Ah!! No!! Please don't!!"
An unexpected scream interrupted Hermione's turn to hand over the ring. They looked over in alarm to see Sadorine, who they had confirmed was not breathing, clutching her neck and screaming.
Her eyes were raised, filled with a deep fear that seemed to blind her, leaving her only able to scream and writhe.
Everyone in the room, including Kreacher, froze in place. They didn't know what had happened, and naturally, they didn't know what to do.
Clang—Clang—
Two more sharp cracks sounded, and two metallic objects fell from Sadorine's body. Harry's scar tingled, and he came to his senses, went over and restrained Sadorine's wildly waving hands, and began to soothe her.
"Don't be afraid, don't be afraid, Sadolin, it's safe here. No one will come except us..."
Then Hermione came over, followed by Ron. It took them quite a while to stop Sadorine's almost suffocating screams. Just as they were about to breathe a sigh of relief, Harry's arm was gripped tightly by Sadorine again.
"Dmitri! Where is Dmitri? How is he? Is he alright?" Sadolin asked anxiously.
“I don’t know…” Harry was stumped; he didn’t have the energy to pay attention to things happening abroad.
“But I don’t know if it’s good news,” Hermione said, trying to comfort Sadorine. “People who live peaceful lives don’t make a fuss about things that others will find out about.”
"I hope so, I hope so!" Sadolin cried again, but this time she covered her mouth and sobbed softly.
Harry looked at Sadorine's absent-minded appearance and found it somewhat absurd, because this was a person who had died and come back to life, who had been so afraid of death just now, but now that she had recovered, she didn't have any time to be happy for herself, and instead became concerned about the safety of others.
If that's the case, then where will she find time to be happy?
Oh, that's not just anyone, it's her lover.
Sometimes, a lover is like a new life to someone.
Harry thought of Ginny and suddenly longed to see her, thus casting aside the absurdity he had just felt.
After a while, once Sadorine's sobs had subsided, Hermione tentatively asked, "What happened, Miss Slytherin? Did you just come back to life? Or were you never really dead?"
“I—” Sadolin instinctively wanted to talk about the violence Maggie committed against her after she inexplicably woke up that night. She felt that she no longer needed to cover for him, but the matter of that night was stuck in her throat, and no matter how much she wanted to say it, she couldn’t.
Magic?
Sadorine bit her lip, hating the feeling of Maggie's mark on her, and could only try her best to answer Hermione's question, "I... I don't know, I just feel like I was right next to Dmitri, on the day of the match..."
These words stirred up her sadness, and Sadoreen began to sob again. Hermione patted her shoulder reassuringly, then picked up the crucial ruby ring and asked, "Do you remember this?"
“Della gave this to me. She told me to wear it and not to take it off even when I sleep,” Sadolin answered the question while crying.
Della...
Hermione exchanged a glance with Ron and Harry, but didn't discuss the matter immediately.
That evening, after Sadorine had fallen asleep wrapped in the blanket Hermione had given her, they discussed the day's gains under the moonlight, holding their newly acquired golden cup and crown.
“These two are Horcruxes,” Harry said confidently, his eyes shining brighter than before. “We’re incredibly lucky to have found two at once.”
"But why was it placed on Slytherin?" Ron asked.
“It might be for the same reason as us,” Hermione analyzed calmly. “Della, or that Maggie, can’t destroy Horcruxes.”
Upon hearing this, the light in Harry's eyes dimmed, and the atmosphere froze.
Yes, they can't destroy it; they haven't found a way to destroy Horcruxes yet.
Ron broke the silence first, asking Harry, "By the way, what about that ruby ring? It really wasn't a Horcrux."
“No,” Harry said, his tone now more certain.
“That was given to me by Della. If it were a Horcrux, it wouldn’t be so blatant,” Hermione continued, her eyes darting up and down. “I think it might be the tool Della was using to make Sadoreen ‘die’.”
"What?" Ron was confused by this question, and Harry looked at Hermione with a puzzled expression.
“Yes, her last name is Slytherin, and her lover is nobody’s name, and, you know,” Hermione said, stopping short of saying anything that sounded disrespectful, “that prevented them from being together, but when Sadorine ‘died’—I mean, officially—they were able to be together in secret.”
“Oh,” Harry understood, “Romeo and Juliet.”
Hermione nodded, gave Harry a 'good, just right' look, and smiled. Ron was still confused, but looking at the tacit understanding between Hermione and Harry, one thing became very clear to him.
Hey.
This is his girlfriend.
