Chapter 108: The Secret of the Lock Reveals the Dawn

Chapter 108: The Secret of the Lock Reveals the Dawn

The secret is unlocked and the dawn is revealed

With a soft click, the lock opened. The indicator light flickered green, like a star of hope rising in the darkness. I breathed a sigh of relief, but before I could even celebrate, I immediately disabled the defense mechanism. The blinding light and electrical current ceased instantly, and the alarm stopped abruptly. The chamber suddenly became eerily quiet.

I hurriedly turned around to check on Hao Yang. His face was as pale as paper, his lips were bloodless, and he was leaning against the wall, his breathing so weak that it was almost imperceptible.

"Hao Yang!" I rushed to his side and held his shoulders. "How are you?"

He struggled to open his eyes and forced a smile: "I'm fine... just a little... cold..."

His hands were cold and his body was trembling slightly. I tore off a corner of my sleeve and simply bandaged his still bleeding wound.

"Hold on!" I fought back tears and tried to stay calm. "We'll be out soon."

The chamber's defenses were disabled, but we hadn't found a way out. I looked around, the walls smooth and cold, with no sign of an exit.

Hao Yang pointed weakly at the wall behind me and said intermittently: "Yaoyao... look..."

I followed his finger and saw some tiny scratches on the wall, which would be easily overlooked if I didn't look closely. I walked over and gently touched the scratches with my hand. They felt like some kind of words or symbols.

"This is..." I looked carefully. These symbols were very strange. I had never seen them before.

Hao Yang struggled to speak, "I... seem to have seen... similar symbols somewhere..." He tried to recall, frowning, beads of sweat oozing from his forehead, "On... outside... on the bodies of those guards..."

Symbols on the guards? A thought struck me. Could these symbols be some kind of clue? I immediately recalled the guards I'd seen outside before. They did have some strange markings on their bodies. I hadn't paid much attention to them at the time, but now that I think about it, those markings do bear some resemblance to the scratches on the wall.

"I remember now!" I exclaimed excitedly, "Those symbols represent directions!"

Following Hao Yang's instructions, I compared the scratches on the wall with the symbols on the guards' bodies and finally found a pattern. Putting these scratches together, I discovered a map! The map marked a hidden exit in the corner of the secret room.

I suppressed my excitement, followed the instructions on the map, walked to the corner, and carefully looked for the exit mechanism.

"Click——"

With a slight sound, a crack appeared in the wall, which became larger and larger, and finally formed a door.

"We...we found it!" I was ecstatic and turned to look at Hao Yang, but found that his eyes were full of fear. He pointed at the door behind me with a trembling voice, "Yaoyao...be careful..."

What's behind the door? Hao Yang's fear made my heart tighten. I slowly pushed the door open, and a cold breath hit me. Behind the door was not the exit, but a smaller secret room filled with all kinds of strange instruments and devices, flashing with strange lights.

I looked around cautiously. In the center of the secret room stood a control panel, its densely packed buttons and indicator lights dazzling. I realized that this was the real core control room.

"Hao Yang, you stay here, I'll go take a look." I said softly, not daring to act rashly.

Hao Yang shook his head weakly: "No, I...I want to be with you."

I knew he was stubborn, so I didn't insist. I helped him slowly walk to the control panel and began to examine the buttons and indicators carefully. The symbols reappeared, similar to the scratches on the wall before, but more complex.

I realized that this might be the password lock that controls the entire defense mechanism. If I could crack it, perhaps I could completely shut down the conspiracy of this mysterious organization.

I began to recalculate the code based on the clues I'd found. The chamber's defenses seemed to sense my intentions and intensified their attack. The light grew more intense and faster, making it difficult to dodge. Even more terrifying, several small explosive devices began to activate, and deafening explosions echoed through the chamber from time to time.

"Be careful!" Hao Yang pushed me away. An explosive device exploded next to us, and he used his body to block the impact of the explosion.

"Hao Yang!" I rushed to him in horror. There were several more wounds on his body, and his clothes were stained red with blood.

He endured the pain and smiled at me: "I'm fine...you...continue..."

My heart ached like a needle, and tears blurred my eyes. I wiped away my tears and continued to focus on deducing the password. I couldn't give up. I had to crack this code, for Hao Yang and for myself.

Time ticked by, my brain racing, combining, arranging, and calculating those complex symbols. Finally, I found the correct code!

Trembling, I entered the code into the console. The combination lock emitted a dazzling light, and the defense mechanism stopped attacking. Silence returned to the chamber, only the sound of our rapid breathing echoed.

We made it!

I collapsed on the ground powerlessly, and Hao Yang leaned against me. We smiled at each other, and saw the relief of surviving the disaster in each other's eyes.

But I know the danger is not really over yet.

I took a deep breath, stood up, and continued to examine the items in the secret room. I found a diary lying quietly next to the console, which seemed to record the complete plan of the mysterious organization.

I picked up the diary, but found that it was sealed by a special force and I couldn't open it.

What secrets are hidden in this diary? How can I break the seal?

I took the sealed diary and tried to use the power of the spirit pearl...
