Chapter 428: Entering Buddhism 1
Chapter 428: Entering Buddhism 1
Wang Jinyi watched in amazement as the little nun closed the door, walked a few steps from the door to the courtyard wall, and crossed the broken and low wall. She saw the little nun walking very fast, not forgetting to carefully hold the Buddhist beads around her neck.
The door of the Zen room opened and closed, and after a while several people walked out of the room.
Wang Jin remembered Yuqing saying that there were only seven nuns in Luoxia Temple.
Now let's take a rough count, okay? This is everyone out, bah bah bah, everyone is here to welcome us, isn't this a bit high? !
Just as I was thinking about the people inside and outside the door, they had already met face to face before they even opened the door.
A somewhat familiar face walked up to the front and opened the double doors himself.
Master Huijing looked at the carriages and horses in front of the door and his eyes fell on the girl who had been ordained by him.
Wang Jinyi took off the silver-red fox fur cape he was wearing, quickly straightened his monk's robe, hung the Buddhist beads on his wrist around his neck, and put his hands together.
"Amitabha, I, the poor nun Jingyi, greet the abbot."
Master Huijing raised his hand to return the greeting and said softly:
"Amitabha, let's go to the temple to continue the conversation."
She turned around and gave a few instructions to the nuns behind her. The nuns went away in different directions, leaving her standing in front of the door alone, without moving.
My father stood at the door without moving, straightening my mother's cloak.
"You take the child inside. I'll stay here to guard the car."
The mother took a deep look at the father, who had thin eyes with dark circles under them, and took her daughter's hand and walked through the small double wooden door that served as the mountain gate.
A group of people followed behind him, including Yuqing, Zhuyu, Fengjie and Fengmei.
The nun who entered the temple first had already set up the cushions. Abbot Huijing said:
"please."
He lifted up his blue monk's robe and sat directly on the cushion on the ground.
Wang Jinyi and the mother and daughter looked at each other. They both wanted to persuade the other not to sit down, but they all lowered their eyes knowingly and said nothing. They also sat down on the cold futon.
Yuqing took the silver-red cloak from Zhuyu's hand, put it directly on the young lady, and tucked the hanging part of the cloak under the young lady's buttocks.
That’s not all. Fearing that the young lady would feel cold, he took off his half-length cotton robe and covered her crossed legs with it.
For a moment, everyone in the room watched her operation without interrupting her. Only Abbot Huijing, who lowered his eyes and said nothing, muttered softly,
"Amitabha, good, good!"
The mother looked at her daughter, then looked at Master Huijing and the two nuns who were sitting upright in thin clothes, coughed lightly, and said earnestly:
"Master, my daughter is still young and ignorant of Buddhism. I am afraid that my behavior may be inappropriate. I hope you can give me some advice."
Master Huijing slowly raised his eyes, his gaze swept over his mother calmly, then fell on Jingyi, his voice calm:
"Before the Buddha's teachings, all sentient beings are equal. No matter if you were once a rich and powerful person or a commoner, once you enter this mountain gate, there is no distinction between high and low."
She paused, gently twisted the Buddhist beads with her fingertips, and continued:
"Buddhism will lead her to see her true nature. Buddhism is like a lamp, illuminating every heart that seeks Buddha.
All living beings have Buddha nature, just like the earth carries all things, and like the sun shines everywhere..."
At first, my mother tried hard to nod in agreement, but later, after listening to the Buddha's teachings, she took the instructions seriously and did not dare to mention any more questions.
Master Huijing was immersed in preaching Buddhism, but Wang Jinyi felt his butt getting colder and colder. Later, his legs were cold, so he simply coughed a few times, interrupted the guidance, and said directly:
"Master, what you said is absolutely right. I will seriously meditate and comprehend the Buddhist principles. Amitabha."
Master Huijing raised her eyes, her face showing no sadness or joy, and she was calm. After saying a few closing words, she asked the little nun to lead Wang Jinyi and her daughter to the back.
At this time, there are two pure wooden houses standing against the back gables of the two blue brick Zen rooms. In order to keep warm, a thick layer of mud is applied on the outside of the wooden walls.
Wang Jinyi was still satisfied. It was winter between warehouses, and the clan and family worked together to build two new rooms for him in this small Luoxia Temple. It was not easy, and they even made a special insulation layer. It was really thoughtful!
As for the rest, I will find a way when the weather is good next year.
Wang Jinyi stood with her elbows folded, looking at her own private Zen room. Her mother patted her daughter gently.
"Go in and have a look."
There was a thick cotton curtain behind the wooden door. A brazier had just been lit in the room. The two nuns got up and went out. Master Wang Jinyi and Jingyi came on stage and quickly shook hands with the two nuns to greet them.
"Amitabha."
The other party returned the greeting and walked out sideways.
Zen rooms are generally not big and have very simple furniture, but this house, which was built in just over a month, is equipped with a large desk and two bookshelves against the wall in addition to a table and chairs.
What is surprising is that this is a suite with a bedroom in the inner room. Although the bed is covered with only a thin grey monk's blanket and there is a green cloth quilt at the foot of the bed, there are two additional wooden beds in the room, which should be prepared for Yuqing and the others.
The floor of the entire room is paved with bluestone slabs, and the roof has a ridge to make the space higher.
There are several bright windows high up in the room, and light illuminates the entire room.
Wang Jinyi was so busy admiring the room inside and out that she didn't notice her mother following behind her, silently looking at the furnishings, feeling a little depressed.
After Wang Jinyi got over her excitement, she grabbed her mother's arm and shook her, saying coquettishly:
"Mom, it's nice here. We're not far away, so we can see each other often. I can also have a lot of time to do what I want. It's just, it's just..."
The mother lowered her head and asked:
"Just what? If you need anything, just tell me..."
"Haha, hahaha, nothing much, I just feel like I'm going to have to spend money again."
Zhu Yu and Feng Mei were left in the room to clean up after chatting and laughing, while the others left the mountain gate again.
Ten guards in neat uniforms stood in line outside the mountain gate.
Wang Jinyi narrowed her eyes, and a strange picture appeared in her mind. There were only seven nuns surrounded by ten guards. No! Now there were eight nuns in the yard, and they were ready for battle.
I don’t know what these people in the East Palace will do!
She frowned and tried her best to think of a solution, but her father gently tapped her forehead, bringing her back to her senses.
"What are you thinking about? Your eyes keep rolling around."
Then he looked at his mother and asked, "How is her house?"
The father deliberately avoided the word "Zen room", as if once the word "Zen room" was mentioned, his daughter would really become a nun. He was reluctant to do so, so he was careful with his words.
The mother obviously understood her father's intention. She held her daughter with her left hand, held her husband's collar with her right hand, put on her usual expression, and said half-jokingly:
"Your daughter is naturally the same as you, she just likes this wooden house, but if I tell you, I'm afraid she will throw money into it!"
"Jin'er, if you think there's anything else that needs fixing, we'll give it a proper makeover after the New Year."
Father walked past Mother and discussed with Wang Jinyi gently.
