Chapter 597 World 55
Chapter 597 World 55
Presumably, Stella's letter had only just arrived in the Mermaid Clan when Doris's reply came.
In the letter, Doris first thanked the dragons and elves for their reminder, and then strongly requested that Stella, who hadn't visited the mermaids in a long time, be allowed to go and have a few days of fun.
Stella refused.
It's not that the mermaid's land isn't beautiful enough, nor that Doris isn't generous enough, that she gave out too few treasures.
Stella was simply not used to living underwater for a long time.
Stella always believed that she was good enough at enduring loneliness.
But Stella was, after all, a fairy from the Elf Forest, not a mermaid from the sea. The land was the place she knew best.
Doris was used to Stella's rejections, but this time, she sent her a seashell.
Stella looked at the brightly colored conch shell and played with it for a while before placing it to her ear to listen to the sound of the sea.
She had just put the conch shell to her ear when she heard a familiar voice coming from inside it.
"Stella, can you hear me?"
Stella took the conch shell down, examined it for a moment, and then placed it back to her ear: "Doris?"
“It’s me,” Doris said cheerfully. “Stella, this conch is our tribe’s latest invention. No matter how far apart we are, we can communicate through the corresponding conch. What do you think?”
“Very impressive,” Stella said truthfully.
This conch shell's function is very close to that of a mobile phone, but its one-way communication function is still not as good as a mirror that can see people.
However, for the mermaids, the materials needed to make mirrors are relatively difficult to obtain. Using conch shells to communicate is different, as conch shells are plentiful in the sea. As long as the technical difficulties are overcome, everything else is not a problem.
Stella suggested to Doris, "You could try to find a way to make it easy for one conch shell to connect with several different conch shells."
"If we can achieve this, I believe the Merfolk will definitely make a fortune from the communication conch shells they produce."
Doris was delighted: "I knew you'd have a great idea, Stella. I'll go find some fish to cook with, and then I'll replace it with the freshest fish for you."
Doris was busy and naturally couldn't continue this contact.
But before hanging up, Doris carefully taught Stella the correct way to use it.
"Stella, you must contact me often, okay?"
Stella readily agreed, and Doris hung up, satisfied.
Stella stared at the conch shell for a while before using magic to shrink it. Then she found a suitable rope, braided it into a knot, and hung it around her neck.
The Elf King quickly noticed that Stella had added something to her clothes and shook his head: "Don't you think it's heavy?"
There is a certain degree of truth to this. Although some items can be placed in the storage ring, items like communication conch shells, if placed in the storage ring, mean that the owner cannot promptly detect when someone contacts them.
In the past, Stella wouldn't have minded; she could throw anything into her storage ring because Damian and Lucas could always find her.
As for the Elf King, needless to say, there's no one in the Elf Forest he can't find.
But the reality is that Stella has quite a few friends she needs to contact promptly.
Therefore, Stella had no choice but to grit her teeth and shake her head in front of the Elf King: "It's not heavy."
The Elf King was almost amused by her, but fortunately, out of consideration for Stella's feelings, he didn't speak directly.
Stella, on the other hand, was a little shy. She stuck out her tongue and expressed her gratitude for the little flower room the king had given her.
Otherwise, she definitely wouldn't have carried so much stuff with her, otherwise her flight speed would have been slower.
"Your Majesty, I'm going out to play for a while."
Stella's first stop was naturally the mother tree, which was closest to her.
Thanks to the Elf King's "urging," the lazy fruit that hadn't been absorbing nutrients properly before is now quite healthy.
Stella flew to the almost transparent fruit.
The elf cub inside sensed a familiar presence, and as if completing a task, it rolled over and slapped its little hand onto the fruit shell with a "smack".
Unfortunately, with his current strength, he couldn't even crack a fruit, let alone damage it, let alone, like he could before Damian was born.
Stella didn't laugh at him, but instead praised the fruit to him, which annoyed the little cub so much that he rolled over again before leaving.
Knowing that Damian had been called away by Lucas, Stella naturally headed straight for the amusement park.
In the past, whenever Lucas was around, their first choice for amusement parks was always Fantasy Park.
Although he could choose other options, Lucas almost considered writing the perfect script as a true ideal, so he only wanted to while away his time in the fantasy world.
So when Stella heard Lucas say he was going to play other games, she thought she had misheard.
She squinted and looked into the distance.
The sun rose in the east as usual today.
Good, she's not dreaming.
"Stella, what's with that look?" Lucas exclaimed, jumping up and down. "I'm good at other games too, you know!"
“Oh,” Stella responded, offering no further comment.
"You!" Lucas exclaimed, speechless. "Let's have a contest!"
“Lucas,” Damian pulled him back, “Stella…”
Lucas interrupted him: "Damian, you come too!"
Stella shrugged at the helpless look Damian gave her.
Stella landed on Damian's shoulder and whispered as she watched Lucas strut away angrily, "What's wrong with him today? He's so easily provoked. Normally, he wouldn't even care about something like this."
Damian replied in a low voice, "Didn't the Dragon King and Queen bring the little prince to play?"
"The Dragon King saw that Lucas was engrossed in illusions and writing, neglecting his daily training, and gave him a few words of advice."
"He didn't take it to heart at first, until he realized that he couldn't even compare to the Little Prince, and suddenly his fighting spirit was ignited."
"Hmm..." Stella looked conflicted, but seeing Lucas's perked-up ears in front of her, she swallowed back the point she was going to make about the differences in physical abilities between the two races.
Lucas has finally shown some interest in these things, so let's not give him a reason to give up.
Stella continued, "Lucas really needs to practice; we're almost able to beat him up."
Lucas stopped in his tracks, and although he didn't turn around, the fire on his body seemed to ignite instantly.
"Our first stop is archery, let's start with competitive mode!"
