Chapter 1695 Stalking
Chapter 1695 Stalking
Xiao Mei and Nan Weiwei were struggling with a takeout menu on their phones when their phones suddenly started buzzing.
Nan Wei glanced at the caller ID; it was Nan Yifeng. Her brows furrowed instantly, and after a moment's hesitation, she answered the phone.
On the other end of the phone, Nan Yifeng's voice carried a hint of stubbornness and resentment: "Weiwei, I'm not reconciled..."
"Unwilling to accept it? Unwilling to accept what?"
"I'm not willing to be dumped by you like this. Why should I?"
Nan Weiwei was annoyed by these sudden words, and her tone became firm: "Nan Yifeng, what exactly do you want? We're over, so stop bothering me. If you're not satisfied, keep it to yourself."
“I’ll pester you every day from now on,” Nan Yifeng persisted.
"OK... then... tell me, what will it take for you to be satisfied, brother..."
After hearing the word "brother," there was a long silence on the other end before the voice came through the receiver clearly: "Weiwei, I, Nan Yifeng, have never been dumped by a woman since I was a child. You are the first."
"Yes, yes, I was the first one to dump you, and I was also your first love, okay? You talk too much nonsense. Just say it, what do you want?"
"It's simple. We'll start dating again, and then... I'll cheat on you and dump you. Only then will I be satisfied and stop bothering you."
Nan Weiwei was taken aback by these words, then found them utterly absurd and couldn't help but burst out laughing. But her laughter was tinged with helplessness and annoyance: "Nan Yifeng, are you out of your mind? What kind of twisted logic is this? What exactly do you mean?"
Hearing Nan Weiwei's words, Xiao Mei curiously came over, her eyes wide and her ears perked up, trying to hear what Nan Yifeng was saying on the other end of the phone.
Nan Weiwei covered the microphone and turned to Xiaomei, explaining helplessly, "He said he would only be willing to be dumped if he had to dump me once."
Upon hearing this, Xiao Mei's mouth gaped open wide enough to fit an egg, her face filled with disbelief.
Nan Weiwei brought the microphone back to her ear and said irritably, "Nan Yifeng, stop making trouble here. I don't have time to play this boring game with you."
Nan Yifeng seemed determined, saying firmly, "Weiwei, I'm not joking, I'm serious. If you don't agree, I'll keep bothering you."
Nan Weiwei's cheeks flushed red with anger. She took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down and think about the intentions behind Nan Yifeng's words.
Was he planning to pretend to reconcile and then dump her as revenge? Thinking this, Nan Weiwei felt a chill run down her spine; she thought Nan Yifeng was utterly unreasonable.
"Nan Yifeng, are you planning to pretend to get back together with me, and then dump me again, just to make yourself feel better?" Nan Weiwei coldly questioned.
There was a moment of silence on the other end of the phone, then Nan Yifeng's voice came through again: "Weiwei, that's not what I meant. I just... I just wanted our relationship to have a different ending."
Nan Weiwei became more and more confused as she listened. She didn't understand what Nan Yifeng was thinking. This absurd request made her both angry and helpless: "Nan Yifeng, stop making trouble. Our relationship is over, and there's no way it can be changed. Instead of bothering me here, you should live your own life."
Seeing Nan Weiwei's resolute attitude, Nan Yifeng's voice carried a hint of pleading: "Weiwei, please give me another chance, okay? Even if it's just pretending to make up, let me fulfill this wish."
Nan Weiwei shook her head firmly. Although Nan Yifeng couldn't see her, she still said, word by word, "Impossible. I won't play such a childish game with you. You'd better watch yourself." After saying that, Nan Weiwei hung up the phone without hesitation.
She threw her phone on the sofa, sat down angrily, and muttered, "What kind of person is this? He's completely unreasonable."
Xiao Mei sat down next to Nan Weiwei, gently patted her back, and comforted her, "Weiwei, don't be angry. Don't get angry over someone like that. It's not worth it."
Nan Wei took a deep breath, trying to calm herself down, and then ordered takeout with Xiao Mei and had a big meal.
Nan Yifeng didn't go back that night. The next morning, the gentle sunlight shone on the villa entrance. Nan Weiwei and Xiaomei got ready to go to work.
However, the sight before them when they opened the door left them both stunned.
Nan Yifeng was curled up in the car, fast asleep, with a thin layer of condensation on the car window.
Nan Weiwei watched this scene, feeling a mix of emotions.
Although she felt somewhat powerless against Nan Yifeng's entanglement, she couldn't help but feel a little sorry for him after seeing him sleep in the car all night.
She took a deep breath, stepped forward, and gently knocked on the car door.
Nan Yifeng was awakened by the knocking sound. He opened his eyes groggily and saw that it was Nan Weiwei. A hint of surprise flashed in his eyes.
He sat up straight, rubbed his eyes, and said in a slightly lazy voice, "Weiwei, you're up."
Nan frowned slightly and said irritably, "Nan Yifeng, how long are you going to keep this up? Fine, you win. I promise to make up with you, and then you can dump me again. Is that okay? Now you can go home and sleep."
She thought this would satisfy Nan Yifeng's absurd request, allowing him to go back, rest, and go to work.
Nan Yifeng, however, seemed to have heard something amusing, and the corners of his mouth turned up slightly, revealing a playful smile: "Weiwei, I've changed my mind now, I won't agree. I'll sleep in the car every day and guard your door. And you know what, it's quite comfortable in this car."
Upon hearing this, Nan Weiwei was so angry she almost fainted. Her eyes widened, and she pointed at Nan Yifeng's nose, shouting, "Nan Yifeng, what exactly do you want? Can you stop being so shameless!"
Nan Yifeng, however, paid no attention to Nan Weiwei's anger. He slowly opened the car door, got out, stretched, and then looked at Nan Weiwei, saying, "Weiwei, I didn't want this either, but... you've hurt me so much."
Nan Weiwei: "Do you know how much you're bothering me? I have my own life now and don't want to be disturbed by you anymore."
Nan Yifeng walked up to Nan Weiwei and said, "Weiwei, how could I disturb your life? I'm just guarding your door. I won't do anything out of line. What are you worried about?"
Xiao Mei stood to the side, watching the two men's tense standoff, feeling a little anxious.
Worried that the two would start arguing, she quickly stepped forward to smooth things over, saying, "Nan Yifeng, don't be so stubborn. Weiwei really doesn't want to have any more entanglements with you right now. If you keep guarding her like this, it will only make her hate you more."
Nan Yifeng glanced at Xiaomei and said, "Xiaomei, I know you're doing this for Weiwei's sake, but I'm not willing to help. Why should I? I didn't really cheat on her. No, I can't swallow this. I have to get revenge."
Nan Weiwei looked at Nan Yifeng, feeling both helpless and annoyed.
Nan Yifeng is determined to pester her this time, and no matter what she says, he will not give up easily.
"Nan Yifeng, how long are you going to keep bothering me? Are you going to stay with me like this for the rest of your life?" Nan Weiwei asked helplessly.
Nan Yifeng nodded and said seriously, "Weiwei, it depends on my mood."
Nan Weiwei was completely speechless. She turned to Xiaomei and said, "Xiaomei, let's go. Let's ignore him. Let him do whatever he wants."
Xiao Mei nodded, and the two were about to leave when Nan Yifeng suddenly blocked their way and said, "Weiwei, where are you going? I'll give you a ride. No cars will come from nearby."
Nan Weiwei said irritably, "We don't need you to take us. We'll go by ourselves. No cars come from nearby, but I have my own."
"The tire is flat," Nan Yifeng said.
Nan Weiwei... It must have been dried by Nan Yi. How come I never noticed how speechless this man was before?
Not wanting to argue with him, she pulled Xiaomei around Nan Yifeng and walked away into the distance, intending to hail a taxi outside the residential area.
