Chapter 606 - 217: The Girls Are Shocked: Li Yuan Is Really Inhumanly Extravagant

At the stairwell of the girls’ dormitory, the crowd of students grew as dinnertime arrived.

Ding Shanshan and Xu Tingrou flanked Zhong Tingyue, looking around excitedly for any sign of Li Yuan.

"Ah, over there!" Ding Shanshan spotted a brand-new SUV parked by the entrance and smiled. "That must be Li Yuan’s car. It looks pretty sharp."

"It’s one of this year’s new BMW SUVs. There’s no question it’s a good-looking car," Xu Tingrou chimed in with a laugh. "I thought Li Yuan would bring that super-cool Lamborghini of his. If he had, we could’ve said we were getting a ride in Tingyue’s sports car."

Zhong Tingyue smiled. "My car’s right over there. If you want to drive it, just let me know."

Xu Tingrou quickly waved her hands. "Hee hee, I was just joking. Your sports car is way too expensive. If a novice driver like me accidentally scratched it, I couldn’t afford the repairs even if you sold me."

Ding Shanshan nodded in complete agreement. "Yeah, geez, a sports car worth 1.8 million. I heard that even chipping a single layer of paint can cost thousands, or even tens of thousands, to fix."

"My mom only gives me 800 a month for living expenses. That’s not even enough for a paint touch-up," Xu Tingrou said, looking enviously at the Porsche 911 parked by the curb. "And even if we didn’t scratch it, we’re so broke we couldn’t even afford the gas. I hear sports cars like this need premium fuel and guzzle it like crazy. Even if someone gave it to me, I simply couldn’t afford to drive it."

"How about one of these days you take us for a spin, Tingyue? Then we can say we’ve ridden in a sports car before."

Zhong Tingyue smiled gently. Both Ding Shanshan and Xu Tingrou came from very ordinary families. In fact, the vast majority of students at Daxia University were from common backgrounds. Those who came from well-off families and also managed to test into a 985-tier university were a rare breed, standing out like cranes among chickens in all of Modu.

She had only started taking this Porsche out for occasional shopping trips recently, after resolving the issue that had been troubling her, so the car had very low mileage.

Laughing and chatting, the three girls approached Li Yuan’s SUV.

Just based on his attire and appearance alone, he’d be incredibly attractive to the girls at this university. Coupled with his various titles and admirable talent, I really can’t imagine what kind of girl could possibly resist his pursuit. I guess that’s why both of my campus belle roommates are so enchanted by him, unable to break free even though they know all about his playboy nature...

"As expected of the renowned founder of Zhihu," Ding Shanshan couldn’t resist teasing him. "Director Li, that outfit gives you the air of a true business tycoon." Giggling, she added, "Director Li, Tingrou and I are here to tag along for a meal and play third wheel. You don’t mind, do you?"

Li Yuan was inwardly puzzled but maintained a smile. "Of course not. It’s my honor to treat two lovely ladies to a meal."

Ding Shanshan pursed her lips. "You can use that line on Tingyue. She’s so head-over-heels for you she’s already turned into a lovestruck fool... Hee hee, you know, Boss Li, Tingrou and I have been waiting for this meal from you for almost a month! We finally got our chance today. Hehe, we’re going to eat our fill."

Li Yuan looked a little awkward. The way she put it made it sound like he had been deliberately avoiding them. Did I ever say I’d treat them to a big meal? I think I might have mentioned it at some point, but I can’t recall when.

Zhong Tingyue coughed lightly, clearing her throat to liven up the atmosphere. "Ahem, Shanshan, Tingrou, didn’t you just say you were going to fleece Li Yuan? Hurry up and think about what we should have for lunch."

Li Yuan smoothly joined in with a laugh. "I have indeed been busy lately, tied up with all sorts of things. Whatever you two ladies would like to eat, just name it. Lunch is on me today."

The girls all burst into laughter, amused by Li Yuan’s deadpan joke. As university students, they wouldn’t dare eat wild animals.

"Director Li, you said it, so no take-backs, okay? We’re going to fleece you, the great tycoon, big time."

Li Yuan nodded. "Haha, a gentleman never goes back on his word. Tell me what you’re craving. Consider it done!"

Ding Shanshan immediately piped up, "I heard there’s a really good seafood restaurant in Longyu Mall next to our campus. I’d love to go try some seafood."
