Chapter 164: Sandstorm
Chapter 164: Sandstorm
Wen Lanyue said solemnly, "This place is indeed very strange. It was snowing there before, and snow wolves and monsters appeared. Just now, it was foggy here, and pythons appeared. There are traces of the activities of men in black in both places..."
Gu Changfeng said calmly: "Needless to say, there must be some human factors, someone is trying to stop us."
Bei Mingyu said calmly: "Obviously, this is not an attempt to stop us, but an attempt to destroy us. Even if they can't destroy us, they will weaken our combat effectiveness and delay time."
Wen Lanyue said seriously: "Since the other party wants to delay time, we must hurry up and get on the road."
After some twists and turns, they finally arrived at the foot of Mount Basil. Looking up, the mountain was so high that it reached the clouds, and the terrain was steep, like a natural barrier.
"Let's take a break before continuing up the mountain." Wen Lanyue suggested.
Everyone nodded and found a sheltered place to rest for a while.
Suddenly, a gust of wind blew up, stirring up dust all over the sky. Wen Lanyue quickly stretched out her hand to protect her eyes, secretly saying that something was wrong.
"The wind is blowing so strangely. I'm afraid there's danger on the mountain." She turned and said to everyone.
Before he finished speaking, a loud noise was heard from the top of the mountain, followed by the sound of rocks rolling down. Everyone's faces changed drastically, and they all stood up.
"It looks like we have to hurry up the mountain and find a safe place to hide." Wen Lanyue made a prompt decision and led everyone up the mountain.
Along the way, the mountains became steeper and the roads became more rugged, but they did not retreat and moved forward step by step with difficulty.
After walking for an unknown amount of time, they found a cave. The airflow at the entrance of the cave was stable and it looked relatively safe. Wen Lanyue decided to take shelter here for a while and wait for the sandstorm to pass.
Everyone entered the cave and sat down exhausted. Wen Lanyue looked around and saw that the cave was full of strange rocks and dim light.
"Everyone, take a rest and recover your strength. I'll go out and take a look at the situation." Wen Lanyue said, and walked towards the cave entrance.
Gu Changfeng followed closely behind and shouted, "Yue'er, let me go with you."
Wen Lanyue said, "You should take a rest first. I won't go far. I'll be near the cave entrance."
Gu Changfeng said: "Well, take care of yourself."
Wen Lanyue nodded and walked towards the cave entrance. Then she carefully stuck her head out and observed the movements outside. The wind and sand were still strong and her vision was blurred.
Wen Lanyue prayed in her heart, hoping that the sandstorm would pass as soon as possible. Suddenly, she felt a strong breath coming from not far away.
She looked ahead warily, and vaguely saw a figure looming in the wind and sand. Who was that? Was it a friend or an enemy?
Wen Lanyue decided to move closer quietly to find out the other person's identity. She crouched and slowly moved towards the figure.
Wen Lanyue approached the figure and found that he was wearing a black robe and standing tall. Just as she tried to see his face, a strong wind swept over and almost made her unstable. She closed her eyes and waited for the wind to subside.
After the wind stopped, Wen Lanyue opened her eyes again, only to find that the figure had disappeared. She felt confused and uneasy. Who on earth would appear at this time? Was he coming for them?
She decided to return to the cave and tell everyone what happened. When she returned to the cave, she found that everyone had relaxed, but seeing her serious face, they asked what happened. Wen Lanyue told everyone what she had just seen, and everyone looked at each other with nervous expressions.
