Chapter 31 The Coming Adolescence
Chapter 31 The Coming Adolescence
Poisson was unaware of Professor McGonagall's sinister motives.
After flying a distance and making sure he wouldn't be discovered, he decisively put away his flying broom and transformed back into his dragon form.
In an instant, his speed surged again, and the entire dragon shot straight into the territory like an arrow, startling a flock of birds.
Compared to the beginning, Emerald Ridge is no longer a barren hilltop. Several simple stone houses are now huddled together. In the very center is the residence that Posson prepared for himself, while the other stone houses are factory buildings prepared for assembly line production.
Outside the factory, there are many tree stumps stuck in the ground. If production is to be carried out in the forbidden forest, a sturdy and reliable wall is obviously essential. Unfortunately, construction has only just begun.
Under the command of the goblins, several giants smashed down the surrounding trees, then piled them up, and once there were enough of them, they built a unified structure.
Seeing this orderly scene, Posson finally felt relieved.
Regardless of who attacked the territory, the damage was clearly limited, and the training over the past few days has finally paid off.
As it descended slowly, Poisson deliberately avoided getting close to the factory area, but among the leaves and underground, pairs of alert little eyes suddenly lit up and excitedly gathered around Poisson.
These goblins are the sentinels of the territory.
As the earliest and most senior followers of Persson, the goblins knew how to do things without his orders. They took short strides and called over the actual managers of their territory—Beanie and Club.
"King, attack! Wizard!"
DouDing's words remained concise.
Poisson looked at the most articulate-speaking man.
"That damned black wizard dared to attack the Dragon Lord's Emerald Territory while the great Dragon Lord was away! The scoundrel swore to defend his territory to the death for the Dragon Lord, but unfortunately, he was too weak and couldn't—"
Get to the point.
Poisson impatiently interrupted the stick; he was now starting to find the guy too quick-witted.
"A wizard in black robes attacked Emerald Territory and kidnapped two giants. That guy was too strong; Club was no match for him," Club said honestly.
"They kidnapped two giant monsters?" Persson frowned slightly.
The Emerald Territory of today is no longer the loosely organized tribe it once was. In order to deal with the ever-expanding eight-eyed giant spiders, daily patrols must be conducted by a group of three giants, plus a goblin in command, and dragon breath as a trump card.
Even if they can't win, the goblins will call for reinforcements in time, summoning all the giants in the vicinity.
In this situation, killing even one giant is extremely difficult, let alone capturing two giants alive!
The fact that the dark wizard could do this only proves that he is exceptionally powerful and can easily crush all giants.
And such a person...
"Wait, could it be Voldemort?"
Persson suddenly remembered that Quirrell, the Defense Against the Dark Arts professor possessed by Voldemort, seemed to have a particular fondness for trolls. Not only was a troll placed in the level guarding the Philosopher's Stone, but a troll was also used as bait to attract the professor's attention during Halloween.
Perfectly, at both ends!
"Tsk, this is a bit tricky..."
Demand that Voldemort return his retinue?
Poisson wasn't that stupid.
In fact, he had been enrolled for some time now, but he had always kept his distance from Quirrell. After all, Dumbledore was always watching him. As a junior wizard in Slytherin, if he were to make contact with Voldemort, it would be no different from a werewolf self-destructing.
"No, it's not that there's no chance."
With a flick of his tail, Possus Dragon showed that he was not the type to suffer losses; on the contrary, he preferred to take advantage of others.
"Speaking of which, since mithril can serve as nourishment for my growth, what about the magic stone?"
Persson greedily licked the dragon's kiss. Putting aside the magic stone's power to grant immortality, the mere fact that it could turn stone into gold was enough to tempt him into committing a crime.
However, with the Philosopher's Stone now being eyed by two big shots, Dumbledore and Voldemort, it's almost impossible to steal it ahead of time.
Only by reaching a certain level of strength can one have the chance to snatch chestnuts from the fire!
"Coincidentally, I'm also about to enter the Dragon's Rest stage. Once I enter this new stage of growth, perhaps I should try to take the initiative to contact Quirrell..."
Ordinary dragons only enter adolescence at the age of fifteen, but Persson, relying on his gluttonous talent, accumulated a large amount of energy during his school years, and with the accumulation of the past eleven years, he was able to grow rapidly.
In fact, even in its juvenile stage, Persson's body length far exceeds that of ordinary green dragons, and is even comparable in size to the red dragon, the leader of the five-colored dragons.
Once he enters adolescence, his strength will surely experience another leap forward.
At the very least, when facing a ghost version of Voldemort, we now have the means to maneuver and even fight back!
"Looks like I won't be idle for the next few days..." Persson's vacation lasted less than a class period. If he wanted to accelerate his growth, he would have to hunt more magical creatures.
In the Forbidden Forest, the most numerous and powerful magical creature is his good neighbor, the Eight-Eyed Giant Spider.
Strangely enough, looking at the giant spiders scurrying about in the dense forest, Persson actually felt that these hairy, black creatures were kind of cute!
As expected, Hagrid's aesthetic sense was correct!
……
Meanwhile, in an abandoned classroom, Quirrell, his body charred black, slumped against the wall, utterly exhausted.
"Useless! Can't even handle a bunch of stupid giants, do I really need to take action? Cough cough..."
A cold, ruthless voice suddenly rang out from the scarf behind Quirrell's head, but he couldn't help coughing halfway through his sentence.
Quirrell shrank back timidly and whispered in protest, "Master... it's not that I'm incapable, it's just that those trolls are too strange. I've never seen trolls that know how to cooperate!"
"And those goblins, they actually have alchemical tools, and they even know how to use them! I've been at Hogwarts for so long, and this is the first time I've ever heard of anything like this..."
As a top student at Hogwarts, Voldemort knew very well that today's events were not Quirrell's fault, but rather that the trolls and goblins were acting abnormally.
However, because of those two damned giants, he had to expend the power he had painstakingly accumulated, making himself weaker and weaker, all because of Quirrell's incompetence!
"Owner……"
Quirrell seemed to sense his master's anger; his body trembled, his head bowed even lower, and he pleaded incessantly, "Master...please...I promise I will do my best...I promise I will retrieve the Philosopher's Stone for you..."
"Quirk, you know the rules," Voldemort said coldly, not wanting to say another word to Quirrell, "The Cruciatus Curse!"
"Well--"
Quirrell let out an extremely suppressed scream. Afraid of being discovered, he had no choice but to bite his arm tightly, his snot, tears, and blood mingling together.
Looking at Quirrell's wretched state, Voldemort's disgust intensified. If he had a choice, he would never have chosen this good-for-nothing.
It's clearly impossible for Quirrell, a useless guy who can't even handle a troll, to seize the Philosopher's Stone.
"Perhaps I should find another reliable subordinate..." Voldemort thought to himself.
