Chapter 162 Quarrel
Chapter 162 Quarrel
“I think the sea monster you mentioned is here.” Triton smiled, watching the girl kneeling in the bubble stiffen, and then watching the menacing Morinbia rushing towards them from afar. His smile became even more benevolent.
Jiang Yu felt the hairs on her back stand up one by one. She first straightened her back unconsciously, and then slowly turned her head away, one hair at a time.
The giant sunflower, which had just become fully visible in the seawater, rushed in front of her in an instant. Its three pairs of clear gray giant eyes seemed to be pressed against her face, and although it was in the sea, it was as if a hurricane was blowing.
Oh no, Big Sunflower is back.
Jiang Yu thought dejectedly, "It looks very angry; it'll probably take me back right away." Unfortunately, she hadn't gotten the answer she wanted yet.
Then, to her surprise, she found that the giant sunflower was blocking her way, baring its fangs and claws at the shadowy figure of the mermaid king in front of it.
Not only that, she also heard a voice like that from the depths of an abyss: "Tranton, don't hurt her!"
The giant sunflower can talk? Jiang Yu was momentarily stunned, and even after she came to her senses, she still couldn't accept it. Animals that can talk are called spirits or monsters, so shouldn't a sea monster that can talk be called a magical beast...?
"Very well," Jiang Yu thought to himself, "how could a talking monster be unintelligent?"
Assuming it understands everything, does it hear all your mutterings? Did it hear you complaining about it just now, or asking for help from others behind its back?
That's great, it's turned into a confession game in an instant.
“My little one is so delicate and frail, why did you bring her here!” Morinbia waved her tentacles. “How did you get out? There was no movement for a thousand years. I thought you had completely perished.”
“I don’t want to show up. What would I do there? Face you who ate me? Oh no, I don’t want to see your disgusting face,” Triton said bluntly.
"You lunatic, shut up! Don't scare my cute little one. You didn't say anything weird to her, did you? If she doesn't like me anymore, I don't mind eating you again!" Morinbia said viciously.
"Oh, is that so?" Triton chuckled mischievously. "I never expected you to be so protective of your pet."
“She’s not just a pet!” Morinbia shouted. “Get back inside your crystal now!”
"Don't be in such a hurry. Don't you want to know what little spell I cast before you came?" Triton's fishtail swayed back and forth happily a few times.
Molymbia's wildly flailing tentacles stopped moving immediately. It knew Triton's wickedness all too well. Before he became king, when Molymbia was still a child, his pleasure was to tease it.
It racked its brains for a long time, but still couldn't quite understand Triton's implication. However, it still subconsciously turned around to look at Jiang Yu behind it.
When it met Jiang Yu's terrified yet suddenly enlightened gaze, Molinbia felt a little embarrassed but still held a sliver of hope. It softened its tone: "Do you think she can understand what I'm saying? I haven't spoken to her yet, I haven't signed a contract with her, so can she only hear my roars?"
Jiang Yu: No, I understand every word you say, thank you.
"If she can understand me, she can understand you too," Triton said smugly, arms crossed. "Isn't that right, little one?"
Suddenly being called upon, Jiang Yu nodded subconsciously. Seeing Jiang Yu nod, Morinbia instantly felt utterly hopeless.
It was quite obvious that all its tentacles drooped downwards in despair, making it look like a withered flower. Its three pairs of eyes were even more empty, and it was unclear where they were looking, but it dared not look at Jiang Yu.
But it seemed a little unwilling to give up. One of its tentacles trembled and secretly reached out towards Jiang Yu, its tip curling up shyly. When Jiang Yu looked over, it suddenly stopped moving like a statue.
"Don't you know where this guy comes from?" Triton found the scene quite amusing. When he found this guy back then, it was just a tiny little thing, but now, a thousand years later, it had grown into such a huge and powerful monster.
It is indeed the last remaining bloodline of the legendary race. Not only has it awakened its own consciousness, but it has also developed human emotions. How interesting.
So he asked the bewildered Jiang Yu again, "So you don't know this guy's background?"
“I don’t know,” Jiang Yu replied. “I think it must be a very powerful sea monster.”
“No, in a sense, he doesn’t necessarily have to be a sea monster,” Triton said meaningfully. Jiang Yu didn’t understand; she was more concerned with other issues, but now that Da Kui was here, she couldn’t ask any further.
Triton clearly had other interests at heart, and as for the sea monster's emotional problems, let it figure them out on its own. It would be best if it never understood them, and if it couldn't find love, that would be exactly what he wanted. After all, this guy repaid kindness with enmity, devouring his master without hesitation—serves him right!
So he asked Jiang Yu curiously, "Why do you have the aura of a god?"
Where could Jiang Yu explain this to him? She didn't feel anything at all. If we're talking about miracles, something even more fantastical is that the Great Sunflower itself, or the emperor of this thousand-year-old underwater civilization, could actually be resurrected as a ghost from the mirror.
"I don't know either, what is the aura of a god?" Jiang Yu said honestly.
"Come here, little girl, come closer so I can have a good look at you." The pitch-black Triton stretched out his pitch-black hand and beckoned to Jiang Yu, but was almost scattered by the suddenly pulled-out giant tentacle.
"Tranton! How can you still harbor such wishful thinking? God can't possibly descend to earth again. Stop thinking about these unfounded things!"
"Don't you even know what it means to respect your master!" Triton was furious. It was a miracle itself, and now it wouldn't even acknowledge God. It was truly going against the natural order! "I don't believe you didn't sense anything. If she didn't have divine power, how could she have gathered my remnant soul together?"
Jiang Yu watched the childish bickering between the fish and the monster and walked up to Triton on her own initiative: "Then you can take a look. I'm also very curious about what happened to me. It would be best if you could help me figure it out."
Triton immediately forgot about arguing with Morin Bia and leaned closer to look at Jiang Yu carefully, his gaze stopping directly on her brow.
"Just before I came out, wasn't there a blade of light that shot into your forehead?" Triton asked.
"That's right, it almost killed me," Jiang Yu complained.
"That's right. This mirror is a gift from the gods, and it contains residual divine power. Divine power is particularly sensitive and close to the original divine power, which is why it was attracted out."
“Someone sealed something here.” Triton lightly tapped Jiang Yu’s forehead with his finger.
