Chapter 582 Just in case 1
Chapter 582 Just in case 1
After signing the letter of intent with Manager Wang, Li Xiangyang felt much better. Hualian Trading Co., Ltd. had considerable influence, and if this cooperation went smoothly, it would be a great start for opening up the northern market.
"Factory manager, Liang Zhiqiang is here again," Feng Mingyuan warned in a low voice.
Li Xiangyang looked up and, sure enough, saw Liang Zhiqiang in the passageway not far away, seemingly talking to several people. One of them, a middle-aged man in a suit, seemed familiar to Li Xiangyang.
"Ignore him," Li Xiangyang said calmly. "Let's just focus on our own things."
As they were talking, a young girl walked up to the booth. She was wearing a simple blue work uniform and holding a notebook, and looked like an employee of one of the exhibiting companies.
"Excuse me, what process do you use to make these dried blueberries?" the girl asked timidly.
Lin Yuqing enthusiastically explained, "We use low-temperature drying technology, which preserves the nutrients in the blueberries while ensuring their taste..."
The girl was taking notes diligently, nodding occasionally to show that she understood. Li Xiangyang observed from the side and felt that the girl's questions were very professional, unlike those of an ordinary visitor.
"May I ask who you are?" Li Xiangyang asked politely.
"Oh, I'm Chen Xiaoyu, a student in the Food Engineering Department of an agricultural university," the girl said, blushing. "Our advisor sent us here to visit and learn, and to write an internship report."
"So what are your thoughts on our product?"
Chen Xiaoyu thought for a moment and said seriously, "From a technical point of view, your products are very good. Especially the hazelnut chocolate, which perfectly blends the aroma of nuts with the sweetness of chocolate, which is quite difficult in terms of processing."
Li Xiangyang's eyes lit up. Although the girl was young, she had solid professional knowledge and expressed herself in a very organized manner.
"Xiaoyu, when are you graduating?"
"Next summer," Chen Xiaoyu replied somewhat nervously.
"Would you be interested in an internship at our company?" Li Xiangyang suddenly had this idea. "We're in need of talent in food engineering."
Chen Xiaoyu was visibly taken aback for a moment, then a hint of surprise flashed in her eyes: "Really?"
“Of course it’s true.” Li Xiangyang pulled a business card from his pocket. “You can consider it. If you’re interested, feel free to contact us.”
Just then, Lin Yuqing suddenly tugged at Li Xiangyang's sleeve: "Factory Manager, look over there."
Li Xiangyang followed her gaze and saw Liang Zhiqiang arguing heatedly with a middle-aged man wearing glasses. Although their voices were low, their expressions and gestures revealed that the conversation was not pleasant.
"Who is that person wearing glasses?" Ma Qingfu asked curiously.
Li Xiangyang examined it carefully and suddenly remembered: "It's Zhao Mingyuan from Jinyuan Industry!"
Now everyone understood. Liang Zhiqiang was indeed sent by a competitor, and it was very likely that Zhao Mingyuan had arranged it.
"These people are really persistent," Ma Qingfu said angrily.
"Don't rush," Li Xiangyang calmly analyzed. "They seem to have internal disagreements now, which might be a good thing for us."
Sure enough, Liang Zhiqiang and Zhao Mingyuan parted ways not long after. Liang Zhiqiang left the exhibition hall with a livid face, while Zhao Mingyuan stood there for a while before also leaving in a hurry.
"Factory manager, I think they might be planning something," Feng Mingyuan said worriedly.
Li Xiangyang nodded: "Everyone be careful, especially when you get back to the hotel tonight."
On the second day of the exhibition, Li Xiangyang's booth was unusually busy. In addition to Hualian Trading confirming its orders, several purchasing managers from large supermarkets came to discuss business. One of them, a trading company from Guangzhou, showed particular interest in hazelnut chocolate.
“Mr. Li, we want exclusive distribution rights.” The owner of the Guangzhou trading company, surnamed Chen, was a shrewd businessman. “If you agree, we can order 100,000 boxes at once.”
This number surprised everyone present. One hundred thousand boxes of hazelnut chocolates—at current prices, that's a considerable sum of money.
"Mr. Chen, regarding exclusive distribution..." Li Xiangyang hesitated.
"How about this, we can sign a regional agency agreement first," Mr. Chen said, clearly showing his sincerity. "Exclusive agency rights for South China, for a period of three years."
Li Xiangyang and Ma Qingfu exchanged a glance. The South China market was enormous; if they could capture it, it would be a huge boost to the company's development.
"Mr. Chen, we need to go back and discuss the specific terms." Li Xiangyang didn't agree immediately. "How about I get back to you tomorrow?"
"No problem." Boss Chen readily agreed.
Just as Li Xiangyang and his team were excited about the good news, a commotion suddenly broke out in the exhibition hall. It turned out that a company at the next booth had run into trouble—their products were found to be substandard, and their booth had been shut down.
"What's going on?" Li Xiangyang asked the exhibitor next to him curiously.
"I heard someone reported that their products contained prohibited substances." The man shook his head. "The checks are very strict now; even the slightest problem could result in disqualification from the exhibition."
Li Xiangyang's heart tightened. He thought of Liang Zhiqiang and Zhao Mingyuan; these people were capable of anything.
“Everyone be careful,” he cautioned. “Check our product packaging and labels to make sure there are no problems.”
Lin Yuqing and Feng Mingyuan immediately sprang into action, carefully checking the labels and packaging of each product. Fortunately, everything was normal.
Around 3 p.m., a staff member in uniform came to their booth.
"Are you from Sanheshan Treasures Co., Ltd.?" the staff member asked, holding up a document.
"Yes." Li Xiangyang was a little nervous, but he remained calm on the surface.
"Someone reported that your products have quality problems, and we need to take samples for inspection," the staff member said in a businesslike manner.
“No problem,” Li Xiangyang said generously. “Please feel free to choose whatever you like.”
The staff selected several boxes of dried blueberries and hazelnut chocolates and packed them into sealed bags.
"When will the test results be available?" Li Xiangyang asked.
"Tomorrow morning," the staff member replied. "If there are no problems, you can continue with the exhibition."
After seeing the staff off, Ma Qingfu said angrily, "It must have been Liang Zhiqiang who did this!"
"There's no point in saying all this now," Li Xiangyang said calmly. "Our product quality is up to standard; we're not afraid of inspections."
Feng Mingyuan adjusted his glasses: "Factory manager, I have great confidence in our products. Both the raw materials and the production process are strictly implemented according to standards."
"That's good." Li Xiangyang nodded. "But we can't just sit here and wait to die. Xiao Feng, contact the factory tonight and have the quality control department prepare a detailed test report, just in case."
