Chapter 412 Some people might ask...
Some people might ask...
"How did Arthas return to Lordaeron from Northrend after he obtained Frostmourne and was controlled by the Lich King? Was he conscious, or had he become a puppet...? Did he even know what he was doing?"
"As a paladin, was he unable to resist the control of the runic sword... or did he willingly succumb to depravity, choosing to merge with the Lich King to vie for that supreme and terrifying power..."
More importantly, where did he land in Lordaeron, amidst flowers and the sound of bells announcing his arrival to the entire nation, to meet his father and then murder the benevolent old King Tyrese?
They cut off their old father's head and scattered his ashes... to use them to fill Kel'Thuzad's already cold ashes... to transform them into the so-called Soul Box!
The answer is: Port Lordaeron in the north...
Everything was the Lich King's instruction and prophecy.
Lordaeron Harbor was where the then somewhat crazed Prince Lordaeron chose to cross the sea to pursue Mal'Ganis, one of the seven dreadlords, after purifying Stratholme...
Arthas established the port of Lordaeron on the coast not far from Stratholme so that he could go to Northrend to pursue the Dreadlord.
But instead, they found the frozen demon sword Frostmourne in a mysterious cave...
Back then, it was Arthas who amassed a large number of undead in Stratholme, first marching towards Silvermoon City to resurrect the lich Kel'Thuzad, and then heading south to invade Dalaran...
Stratholme is the largest undead base in the north, followed by Kel'Thuzad's command post, the aerial death fortress Naxxramas.
......
There is more than one floating fortress; the Knights of the Ebon Blade also have a knock-off of Acherus.
They once forced the Scarlet Crusade of Tyr's Hand to flee.
Near Tyr's Hand, on a secluded seaside manor highland, lies a new port, located on the other side of the mountains, in the northeast corner of the Eastern Plaguelands... Stationed in Tyr's Hand are a contingent of the thirteen generals of the Scarlet Crusade.
The port from which General Abidis's daughter and her forces fled appears to have fallen into the hands of the Black Knights...
After the death of General Abidis, the Scarlet Crusade resistance in Tyr's Hand faced the threat of the Death Knights and was forced to retreat with its remnants. At the suggestion of Scarlet Admiral Barry, Abidis's daughter, Bridget, accepted Barry & Weswyn's proposal and, together with Highlord Valdemar, the former master of Tyr's Hand, formed the Scarlet Crusade, preparing to confront the Lich King in Northrend...
This is where things get a little strange...
They were trying to escape, but they ended up in the heart of the disaster zone...
It has to be said that the Scarlet Crusade members... their minds may have been affected by both the plague and hatred. Or perhaps it was simply that Admiral Barry, in the name of the Holy Light, led these fanatics astray.
......
Leaving aside the details for now, some might still ask... "What does this have to do with Atonement Isle? And who is asking these questions? Is Lorraine dead or not? What we want to know is whether Lorraine, this Unsullied, has successfully dealt with Mayor Born? And how much longer will this drag on?"
Don't worry about that, someone will ask anyway... and the answer is that this is very important!
Death Knights are a hero class, and should have been much stronger than Paladins! Well... they're still quite strong...
Ok.
Lorraine had no usable Death Knights by his side, otherwise he wouldn't be so frustrated.
However, not all Death Knights are puppets or tools.
......
After the Lich King Ner'zhul and Arthas merged, the Death Knights' control over their souls by the cursed sword within their bodies loosened...
Many Death Knights were freed, and like the Forsaken, they gained their freedom and so-called free will. They no longer served the Scourge, and some even joined the fight against the Lich King's undead army.
Of course, like the forgotten, they also have their own unique circumstances...
The powerful and ambitious members of the Death Knights of Acherus formed the Knights of the Ebon Blade, who sent emissaries to both the Alliance and the Horde.
Undercity has recently received visits from the Knights of the Ebon Blade, but they haven't come to form an alliance; they've simply declared that the Knights of the Ebon Blade belong to no one... Death Knights are free.
The Dark Queen merely sneered at this...
Of course, she still expressed respect and regret for Black Knight's choice.
Thrall, the Warchief of the Horde, did not object to the Death Knights strengthening his power. After all, Thrall could also tolerate the existence of the Fireblade Clan and the Shadow Council. He simply hoped to unite more forces to deal with everyone's enemies.
......
In fact, the Silver Dawn, located in the Church of Light in the Eastern Plaguelands, seems to be very close to the Knights of the Ebon Blade... To outsiders, it is unknown that many members of the Knights of the Ebon Blade were actually warriors of the Silver Dawn in their previous lives.
It was through the mediation of the Silver Dawn that the Knights of the Ebon Blade maintained their neutrality...
Ironically, after Operation Stormstorm was launched, the originally fierce and chaotic battle at the Undead Stronghold turned into a joint attack by the Alliance and the Horde on the remnants of the Scourge against the Great Lich Kel'Thuzad.
Originally bitter enemies, they formed the Silver Northern Expeditionary Army...
Everyone except the Scarlet Crusaders became good.
The Argent Dawn in the north is preparing to invade Naxxramas, utterly destroy the Lich King Kel'Thuzad and his minions, and reclaim the Plaguelands.
......
High Inquisitor Iselion, the de facto ruler of Hearthglen, was furious about this. He also condemned Abidis's subordinates for deserting Tyr's Hand without authorization. He questioned the suddenly active Scarlet Admiral Barry Weswin about why they had relinquished Tyr's Hand as a logistical base.
Strangely, the Grand Crusader Danso & Dathorhan, who had already invaded Stratholme, did not reject the Argent Dawn this time, and even sent the messenger Marlan to the Church of the Holy Light.
On behalf of the Scarlet Crusade, we express our goodwill and agree to participate in the planned siege of Naxxramas...
On the other hand, the Scarlet Crusade's prophet Demetrius sensed something amiss and urgently contacted the traitor who had long since left the Scarlet Crusade... Lillian & Voss. In response, the Dark Queen had already ordered the Witherers to annihilate all enemies who knew of the Lordaeron royal bloodline, Arthas's sister, Calia & Menethil!
The Crimson Fleet near the outer sea of Undercity has been unusually active since the Undercity Desolate Council's rebellion.
Rumors suggest that the Stormwind Alliance, through intermediaries, has also made contact with Admiral Barry of the Scarlet Fleet, and they may well recreate the glory days of the old Alliance navy.
This greatly worried the Dark Queen, which is why she personally went to the front lines and decided to deal with Gilneas herself!
......
Gilneas is a Gulf state situated between Kul Tiras and its former homeland of Lordaeron, and at one time helped the Alliance control many sea routes. To this day, the Horde still lacks stable transportation routes at sea.
Because of the existence of the Kul Tirans, they are considered the dominant species in the coastal waters...
Of course, the sea is not safe either. The seemingly undamaged Kul Tiras Islands face pressure no less than Stormwind City in the Eastern Kingdoms.
They not only have to deal with the harassment from the Vrykul fleet sailing south from Northrend...
They also have to deal with nearby trolls, primitive tribes, sea monsters, strange naga, and so on... Kul Tiras is mysterious and unfamiliar to the people of the Eastern Kingdoms continent.
The once mighty Plutilas fleet of the old human alliance disintegrated long ago after the death of Admiral Daelin...
The Scarlet Fleet, the Silvermoon City Navy, the Undercity Darktide Navy, the Bloodsail Buccaneers, the original garrison of Kul Tiras, the Syndicate's secret smuggling ships, the Zandalari troll fleet, and sea monsters, naga, murlocs, and sea giants...
No one can claim to rule the ocean; they merely go with the flow...following known routes.
The Endless Sea and the Forbidden Sea, with their vast expanse and mysterious regions, are even more complex.
The Scarlet Navy fleet, which is extremely active near Undercity and Silvermoon City, is not the same as the Theramore fleet under Jaina's command. The outside world knows nothing about the people on Kulve Taroth, just as no one has ever paid attention to Atonement Isle.
Coincidentally, while Lorraine was locked in combat with the mayor, a fleet of Scarlet Crusade ships approached the shores of Atonement Island...
