Chapter 18 Cup Noodles Plan
Chapter 18 Cup Noodles Plan
"Business is bad, what should we do?"
Tetsuya sat cross-legged on the bed, looking at the profits he had made over the past few days.
Previously, my daily earnings started at two thousand, but in the last three days, I only earned a little over three thousand in total.
The income is even less than what they earned in a single day during their peak.
"Sigh! I need to find a different way to make money. At least until the number of ninjas in Konoha increases, I'm afraid my income will be hard to improve."
If you don't find ways to increase your income, it will affect your ability to draw cards. If you reduce the frequency of your card draws, then the speed at which you become stronger will also slow down.
The rate at which I'm getting stronger is slowing down? This is unacceptable! My current strength is not enough to dominate the ninja world.
But upon closer reflection, it seems there's no other way to make money; I can't exactly take on missions myself.
This won't do. I'm not a ninja, so I can't take on missions even if I wanted to.
"Oh well! Let's just wait it out. Anyway, the one thing I have plenty of is time."
Thinking that he had put the money away, Tetsuya lay on the bed and crossed his legs.
"Tsk, it's still not working. We can't keep drifting along like this. How about we expand into other businesses?"
But what else can I do besides making ramen?
Tetsuya fell into deep thought, and as he pondered, he drifted off to sleep.
The next morning, Tetsuya got up early and went to the shop, since many ninjas would choose to eat ramen for breakfast at his shop at this time of day.
"Phew~! Boss, a bowl of tonkotsu ramen, please."
"Shuoye, it's been so long! You're still alive!"
Seeing that familiar white-haired man, Tetsuya was both surprised and delighted.
After all, the war was over, and he had seen many familiar ninjas in the village, but he hadn't seen Sakuya.
He subconsciously assumed that Shuoye had fallen on the battlefield.
Sakuya, who was already quite familiar with Tetsuya, smiled.
"What, do you really want me to never come back?"
"How could that be? I'm hoping you'll come and spend money here more often."
"A bowl of tonkotsu ramen, right? I'll be right there."
"Hurry up, I've been craving your food for so long, you have no idea what kind of life I've been living before."
"Wait a moment, I'll be right there."
Tetsuya called out and went into the kitchen to start cooking.
A moment later, he came out carrying a steaming bowl of tonkotsu ramen.
"Your tonkotsu ramen, please enjoy. It's fresh out of the pot and a little hot."
"It's alright, it's alright. If I were afraid of a little heat, what kind of ninja would I be?"
Shuoye didn't care at all about the temperature of the food that had just come out of the pot, and started eating it in big mouthfuls.
Tetsuya sat down beside him and asked with some curiosity.
"What happened to you? What have you been through? You look like a starving ghost reincarnated."
"Hey, don't even mention it."
Shuoye waved his hand and ate several more bites before answering.
"They've gone out on a mission. Although the war is over, border security cannot be relaxed in the slightest. I've taken my men to patrol the border."
"You have no idea how bad the conditions were. It was either soldier's rations or a hodgepodge of various dry rations."
"Are the conditions this harsh? Aren't there any wild game or anything? With your skills, it should be easy for you to catch a rabbit or a fish."
"Hey, don't even mention it. Even if you caught one, without any seasoning, do you really think it would taste that good just roasted?"
Hearing what Sakuya said, Tetsuya smiled.
"You're right. Although the original flavor of barbecue has its own unique taste, I can't stand eating it all the time."
"Hoo~!"
After taking a big gulp of hot soup, Shuoye sighed.
"It would be wonderful if I could have a bowl of your ramen while on a mission."
"Haha, you wish! You can't expect me to deliver takeout to you while you're on a mission."
"Haha, that's true."
Shuoye slurped up another big mouthful of noodles.
"It's a pity you're not a ninja. If you were, even if you were a genin, I would have found a way to recruit you into my team."
"Then let's not do it, I can't be a ninja."
"Hey, I was just saying that offhand. With your skills, it's a waste for you to be a ninja."
After eating and drinking his fill, Shuoye let out a long sigh of relief.
"This is so good! It's been so long since I've had anything this delicious."
Tetsuya said as he tidied the table.
"Now that you're back, you shouldn't be going out for a while, right? During this time when you're not on a mission, feel free to come and eat whenever you want."
"You're right. I need to come here to eat more these next few days, otherwise I won't be able to eat here when I go on a mission."
After Sakuya left, Tetsuya sat behind the counter and began to think.
"Hey, yeah, maybe I could research instant noodles too? What if I made a cup noodle or something? Wouldn't that sell like hotcakes?"
Although Naruto often ate instant noodles in the original Naruto manga, Konoha doesn't have those kinds of fast food yet.
So, could I try it myself? Maybe I could research instant ramen?
He felt this would be very marketable, since ninjas these days don't eat well when they go out on missions.
If I actually created cup noodles, the sales might be surprisingly good.
Without further ado, Tetsuya turned and went into the kitchen to figure out how to make instant noodles.
Putting everything else aside, with the added benefit of ninjutsu, making instant noodles isn't actually that difficult.
However, the only thing to pay attention to is how to make instant noodles that are convenient while still maintaining their original flavor.
For the next period of time, Tetsuya used his shadow clones to help make ramen to serve guests.
He himself was in the kitchen researching instant noodles.
"Boss Chiba, it's me again, Jiraiya-sama!"
A familiar voice rang out.
Tetsuya also stopped what he was doing.
Although he usually has his shadow clones handle most of the work, he will still choose to personally entertain some special individuals.
"Welcome, Lord Hiruzen Sarutobi."
When Zhe came out of the kitchen, he saw someone who surprised him.
Hiruzen Sarutobi, the Second Hokage's student and bodyguard, the future Third Hokage, and the teacher of Jiraiya and his two companions.
Although he was nominally just the Second Hokage's bodyguard, Hiruzen Sarutobi would also help Tobirama with other tasks on a regular basis, so his status in Konoha was quite high.
Hiruzen Sarutobi greeted him with a friendly smile.
"Hello, Mr. Chiba. I heard from Jiraiya and the others that your ramen is quite delicious, so I came over. I hope I haven't troubled you."
"Not at all, it's an honor for our humble establishment to have Lord Hiruzen Sarutobi here."
While saying this, Tetsuya did have some other guesses in his heart.
Why did he come? Whom was he representing? Tobirama?
Could it be that someone noticed something? I shouldn't have revealed anything, right?
There's no problem with the chakra sealing, and the shadow clones don't have much contact with others.
Are they really just here to eat noodles?
