Chapter 27 Akamaru
Chapter 27 Akamaru
"Okay, fine."
Naruto nodded upon hearing this. Although he still had some doubts, he did not ask any further questions.
Sakura felt a surge of warmth as she watched Boruto and Naruto interact. Although Boruto's words were a bit direct, it was precisely this directness that brought Naruto back to his original expression.
"Naruto, you're still very weak and need to rest," Sakura gently reminded him. At the same time, she wanted Naruto to know that they were all there to support him.
Naruto smiled slightly and said, "I understand. I'll get some rest. Thank you, Boruto, Sakura. I feel much better with you all here."
"Speaking of which, I don't see Sasuke. Take me to Sasuke's room quickly, I want to apologize to him right now." Naruto said, getting up to visit Sasuke.
Boruto and Sakura quickly stopped Naruto from getting up, saying, "We just went to Sasuke's room, but he's not there right now. He left early this morning."
"I see... Alright." Naruto's face showed a hint of disappointment upon hearing the news. Sasuke's injury was directly related to him, yet he couldn't apologize to him immediately.
Boruto chuckled mischievously and said, "Maybe Sasuke is out now so he can secretly practice while you're recovering in the hospital, and widen the gap between you two."
"What! How can this be!?" Naruto believed Boruto's words and his eyes seemed to burn with raging fire as he said, "Damn it! I need to get out of the hospital as soon as possible. I absolutely cannot let him overtake me!"
Sakura looked at Naruto and Boruto and couldn't help but laugh. Although she knew Boruto was joking, Naruto's competitive spirit was really similar to Sasuke's.
"Naruto, you should rest first," Sakura said. "Once you've recovered, you two will have plenty of time to spar."
Although Naruto was somewhat unwilling, he still followed Sakura's advice and reluctantly lay back down on the bed.
He looked at the ceiling and made a silent vow that once he recovered, he would work even harder, not only for himself but also to live up to their expectations.
Just then, Boruto once again sensed a gaze fixed on them from behind, and this time he was absolutely certain that it was not a hallucination.
Boruto quickly turned his head and saw a figure shrinking outside the door.
Seeing this, Boruto quickly said to Naruto and Sakura, "Excuse me, I have something to attend to!" With that, Boruto hurried towards the door.
The figure outside the door seemed to realize that Boruto was walking towards the door, and immediately panicked, hurriedly trying to leave. The sound of footsteps echoed in the corridor, sounding somewhat tense.
Boruto stepped outside, his gaze quickly sweeping around before finally settling on the back of a girl hurrying down the corridor, eager to leave as soon as possible.
Boruto was somewhat surprised; he hadn't expected that the person who had been spying on them was actually a girl.
Seeing that she was quickening her pace and about to disappear from sight, Boruto quickened his pace to follow closely behind.
He then reached out and grabbed her arm, saying, "Who are you? Why are you... Mom... Hyuga... Hinata..."
When Boruto saw the girl's face, he was completely shocked. He never expected that the girl in front of him was his mother, Hinata Hyuga, when he was a child.
Hinata Hyuga blushed, lowered her head, and whispered in an attempt to justify her actions: "I...I'm sorry, I didn't...I didn't mean to eavesdrop on your conversation. I came to visit...Naruto-kun."
Boruto released his grip and said to Hinata, "Since you're here to visit Naruto, why sneak around? Just go in directly; Naruto will be very happy."
Hinata said somewhat shyly, "I heard Naruto-kun was injured, so...so I wanted to come and see him, but I'm a little embarrassed to go in..."
Boruto said nonchalantly, "What's there to be embarrassed about? Oh, I forgot to introduce myself. I'm Boruto Namikaze, Naruto's friend."
Hinata nodded in response, "Yes, nice to meet you. My name is Hinata Hyuga, but... it seems like you already know me..."
Boruto then remembered that he had called her by her name in his haste to change his address.
Boruto made up a story, saying, "Oh! That's because Naruto mentioned your name to me before, saying you're a very nice girl."
Hinata's face flushed even redder after hearing Boruto's explanation. Her eyes darted around, and she stammered, "Eh!!! Naruto... Naruto-kun!?"
Hinata covered her burning cheeks with her hands and slumped helplessly on the floor. She felt waves of heat rising from her cheeks, as if steam was rising from the top of her head.
Boruto was puzzled. Was it really necessary to be so shy? His personality was so different from his future mother's.
Thinking about it this way, he realized that Aunt Sakura's current personality was indeed significantly different from the future he knew.
Boruto found it somewhat unbelievable; he felt that his mother and Aunt Sakura's personalities and temperaments seemed to have been swapped in some way.
Boruto saw his mother still sitting on the ground, deeply immersed in her shyness, so he wanted to help her up first.
"Huh?! How dare you bully a girl in broad daylight! Unforgivable! Attack! Akamaru! Give this ungrateful bastard a good beating!" An angry voice came from afar, attracting Boruto's attention.
Akamaru yelled, "Awooo!!!"
"Bullying a girl? Who...?" Kiba Inuzuka's words startled Boruto. Anyone bullying a girl in this era? He quickly looked around, but found no one else nearby. Hinata was the only girl in the corridor. Boruto pointed uncertainly at himself: "...Me?"
Boruto only realized at this moment that Kiba Inuzuka was talking about him. In the instant he realized this, it was too late to react. Akamaru appeared out of nowhere and bit him hard on the buttocks.
