Chapter 93 Wolfsbane Potion
Chapter 93 Wolfsbane Potion
"Albus, explain what's wrong with this Professor Lupin. He seems to have the air of a werewolf."
"Ellie, you can't look at him like that. He's a pitiful person too. We need to give him a chance."
"Give him a chance if you want. It's not like there aren't jobs that don't involve contact with people. Why would you let him teach students at a school? What if he forgets to take his medication one day? Who will give the innocent students who were victimized a chance?"
"Oh right, Airi, you reminded me. I forgot to tell Severus that I was going to brew the wolfsbane potion."
After saying that, Dumbledore left the headmaster's office and headed straight for the cellar, since only Severus in the school could brew wolfsbane potion.
Emeric's face darkened with anger. He left the headmaster's office, added some spices to the aromatherapy diffuser, and wrote a letter to Gellert urging him to return soon. Since Dumbledore was causing Severus so much trouble, it was reasonable for his aching back to need a few days of rest.
He also thoughtfully prepared a room for the elderly couple and cleaned up any careless mistakes before heading to the cellar.
"Knock knock".
"Enter."
Pushing open the door, Severus sat alone on the sofa with a gloomy expression, somewhat surprised as to why Emeric had come, or rather, surprised that Emeric had only arrived now.
Based on previous experience, Emeric should have followed him out of the common room, not appeared after he finished talking with Dumbledore. This made him suspect that the conversation just now might have been something Emeric and Dumbledore had said.
"Severus, teach me how to brew the wolfsbane potion. Albus's brain isn't working as well as it used to be. You're so busy you don't even have time to rest, and he still comes to bother you. It's too much."
"Wolfsbane Potion? What do you know about that?"
Dumbledore wouldn't be so unreliable as to tell his student Lupin that he was a werewolf. Severus thought uncertainly, suspecting that Emeric might have found out on his own.
"I smelled werewolves as soon as I entered the auditorium. I went to Albus to ask why he let werewolves in, and then he said he was coming to find you so you could brew wolfsbane for Professor Lupin. Albus is really too idle. He should have just not brought people in."
Severus believed Emeric's words, as he had just had the same conversation with Dumbledore.
He stood up and walked towards the workshop, gesturing for Emeric to come and assist him; the two of them could brew potions much faster. Some steps that didn't require a specific order could be done in advance, and since Emeric could follow his train of thought and steps, the efficiency was practically doubled.
Although the process was faster, it was still past midnight by the time the first cycle of the potion was finished. A row of potions, their color gradually fading, sat on the table. Emeric took out an empty potion bottle and placed it beside him, while Severus poured the potion from the crucible into it.
"Go see Dumbledore tomorrow. You know what to do, right?"
"Emm, Severus, it's a pity that Albus will probably be bedridden tomorrow, and the day after that is uncertain."
"?"
The man looked to the side with some surprise. He immediately realized that Emeric had drugged Dumbledore again. He smiled gloatingly, happier than anyone else to see Dumbledore in trouble.
"Then you decide what to do."
Severus casually gave a heads-up, then opened the door to go back to his bedroom to rest. But once inside, he realized something was wrong; Emeric was standing in the doorway.
"Aren't you going back? Do I need to invite you?"
"Severus, can I sleep in the spare room tonight? It's already midnight, and by the time I get back and wash up it'll almost be 1 a.m. I have class early tomorrow morning..."
He could never refuse Emeric's tone of voice. Severus sighed and told Emeric to go in and wash up first.
He glanced at the adjacent "secondary bedroom," which had become a storage room after Emeric moved out last time. Now it needed to be cleaned up again, so he casually piled all the things into an empty storage box.
"Severus, I'm all better now, you can go now."
The boy's slightly long hair was damp with moisture, and droplets slid down his hair to his chest, disappearing into his clothes. His summer pajamas were a bit thin, and when the water droplets touched them, they clung to his body, revealing glimpses of Emeric's muscular physique beneath the damp fabric.
Severus frowned, distressed by his newly installed wooden floor. He loved it, but what if it got wet and damaged? He quickly kicked the person out of the bedroom.
"He has no sense of romance."
Emeric muttered something, and seeing that the bedroom door wouldn't open, he went back to the next room, dried his hair and clothes, and prepared to go straight to sleep.
----------
"Young Master!!! Get up!!!"
"Hmm... thank you, Fufu. Two servings of salted egg yolk and pork wontons and two glasses of milk will be fine for breakfast."
"Yes, young master, Fufu will go cook."
The house-elves' shrill voice rang in his ears early in the morning, making Emeric feel dizzy. He was so sleepy because he had gone to bed late last night, and he had an early class to attend today, which was really going to be tough.
I pinched my cheeks several times to wake myself up, then put on my slippers and went to knock on the door of the next bedroom.
"Severus, wake up. There are first-year classes today. I can't cover the first class; you have to go."
"Knock knock. Knock knock."
"Severus, wake up! We're going to be late!"
......
The man, who had been woken up, was a little angry, but Emeric was right; he had to attend the first class.
He picked up the wand from beside his pillow, opened the door and let Emeric in to wash up. Both of them had a few bluish tingles in their eyes, clearly indicating that they hadn't slept well the night before.
"We'll continue tonight; there are still four bottles left to brew."
Severus's face was grim. He hadn't slept for two days straight because of a werewolf, and it was all Dumbledore's fault. If he hadn't brought the werewolf in, he and Emeric wouldn't have had to work on it for two days straight.
"I don't have classes this afternoon, and Severus, it seems like you don't have any classes this afternoon either. How about we go earlier?"
"There's a meeting this afternoon, a meeting with the dean. You can't control the proportions by yourself, you'll have to wait until tonight."
Everything seemed to be happening at once. He couldn't skip the meeting, and he couldn't stop brewing the potion. Now he wanted to have a fight with Dumbledore to vent his anger.
"Get out, I need to change my clothes."
"We're all men, there's no need for that."
"Look away from me when you say that. You're practically glued to my collarbone. I'm not blind, I can see where you're looking, okay? I'm just too lazy to yell at you, not because I didn't notice."
Emeric always stared at the little bit of skin that was exposed, whether it was his wrist, his neck, or sometimes even the skin behind his ear.
Severus went from initially thinking he was a pervert to completely ignoring him in just one week. Who told this little pervert to make no attempt to hide his true feelings, staring straight at him?
"Fufu's cooking skills are getting better and better."
"Hmm, not bad."
After finishing their milk, the two left the cellar together. Severus went to the Potions classroom, and Emeric went to the Transfiguration classroom. They were too busy to meet all morning.
