Chapter 15 First Meeting Between Father and Son 2
Chapter 15 First Meeting Between Father and Son 2
There was an undercurrent of tension among the group, but Draco didn't care.
Draco: "Rand, I miss you so much."
Draco rushed over and gave Landric a bear hug, but Lucius stopped him just as Draco was about to touch Landric.
Lucius: "Draco, I think you should understand what manners are, right?"
Draco's cheerful expression instantly turned dignified, though he still looked at Lucius with a resentful gaze.
Narcissa: "Oh, Little Dragon, your father is just worried that you'll hurt Rand. You know Rand's health isn't good."
Draco: "Oh yes, I know, Mom."
Draco, reminded by Narcissa, suddenly remembered and looked at Landric with some guilt.
Landric: "It's okay." Actually, he's not that fragile, is he? Maybe?
Landric's somewhat speechless expression at Draco amused Lucius and Narcissa—this kid has never shown many expressions since he was little.
Severus looked at the people in front of him and listened to their pointless conversation. Unusually, he did not show any impatience. He just stared straight at Landric.
Landric couldn't possibly be unaware of such an intense gaze, and he was starting to wonder if Severus Snape had discovered something.
Meanwhile, the Malfoy family of three noticed that the atmosphere was somewhat tense. Narcissa was puzzled, Lucius frowned in thought, and in the end, Draco spoke first.
Draco: "Godfather, please allow me to introduce you. This is my parents' godson, Landric..."
Draco suddenly noticed Landric's somewhat cold gaze and changed the subject: "Brother Landric!"
Then Landric's icy aura immediately warmed up.
Draco: "..." (Really, he just wanted a younger brother; he really didn't want to take advantage of Landric! Really!!!)
But Draco suddenly noticed a red stain on Landric's ear, and his eyes immediately lit up.
Draco realized he was mistaken; it turns out Rand liked him calling him "brother."
Snape's face darkened as he looked at his son's incompetent behavior.
Landric looked at Snape and greeted him first.
Landric: "Hello, Mr. Snape."
Severus Snape looked at the child in front of him who nodded slightly in greeting, and the inexplicable emotions that had just been suppressed in his heart seemed to rise again.
So Severus turned his head and looked at Draco.
Severus Snape: "I suppose my godson, with his head full of reeds, won't forget to tell me the last name of the person being introduced to his poor professor, will he?"
The deep, elegant tone made Draco's heart flutter.
Draco: "Yes, Godfather, this is Landric Rozier, heir to the Rozier family."
The simple name Rozier struck Snape like a tidal wave, and those sealed memories from the past suddenly flooded into his brain.
If nothing unexpected happened, then something unexpected did happen. This child was his child, the child he had abandoned five or six years ago, the child who took his mother's surname.
Snape was at a loss for what to do, how to treat the child.
The intense shock and emotional turmoil made Lucius, Narcissa, and Landric realize that something was wrong, even though they were using Occlumency.
As for Draco, the five-year-old, he was still grinning foolishly at Landric, completely absorbed in the joy that Landric was willing to go out for the first time because of him.
Snape already knew that the little Landric in front of him was his child, and when he heard the name Rozier, his blood seemed to boil. A blood connection made him take Landric to heart.
Looking at Landric's outstanding appearance, Snape still couldn't quite believe that this was the continuation of his bloodline, the child he and Tana Rozier could have.
Thinking back to his abandonment years ago, a deep, piercing pain welled up inside him. He had just heard that Landric's health was poor. If he hadn't given up on the child back then, would the child have taken Snape's name? If he had raised the child properly with potions from a young age, would his health be better now...?
Snape's thoughts were in turmoil. He could clearly feel his love for Landric, but he needed to calm down, sort things out, and make some arrangements. He didn't want to give up on Landric anymore...
