Chapter 5: If you don't want your account banned, then be loyal to your king.
"Stealing?" The person who pointed at the mouse was momentarily stunned, then realized that they were in a game.
The holographic game was so realistic that he, who grew up in a society governed by the rule of law, dared not cross the legal line.
But it's just a game. Let alone stealing things, what can you do if you rob NPCs? As the saying goes, playing a murder mystery game is not the same as murder.
"Yes, Your Majesty!" Standing crookedly, pointing at a mouse and calling it a duck, he gave an exaggerated salute like a traitor in a movie.
Then he turned around and walked straight in the direction Viserys had pointed to, towards the market.
Watching the player smugly point at the mouse and turn away, Viserys pursed his lips, hoping he wouldn't get beaten too badly by those seasoned veterans in the market.
"Go three hundred steps to the left, and you'll find the home of blacksmith Rondo. His blacksmith shop is currently recruiting apprentices. Before nightfall today, I need you to become Rondo's apprentice and learn the art of forging."
Viserys turned his gaze from the figure pointing at a mouse and then at the sage who had chosen blacksmith as his profession among the five players:
"Upon completion of the mission, you will also receive a reward of ten Kingdom Coins and a Black Iron Chest."
[You will gain experience in forging during your apprenticeship.]
The little fire spirit's suggestion flashed through the Steamed Bun Immortal's mind.
"Wow, this game is way too realistic! I chose the blacksmith profession, and now I actually have to be an apprentice? This is like a real-life Kingdom Come: Deliverance!"
Despite his complaints, the Mantou Sage obediently followed the direction Viserys was pointing and moved toward the blacksmith's shop.
"As for the three of you, one a scout and two warriors, I will teach you the most basic combat skills."
Viserys now faced only three players, and he deliberately rested his hand on his ornate sword:
"Whether your goal is to become a knight or a lord, a legion commander or a Supreme Knight of the Royal Guard, the first step on that path is to first master the sword in your hand."
Here they come! The three players looked at each other and saw joy in each other's eyes. In a medieval-style game, what kind of NPCs would they be if they didn't teach them how to use swords?
Seeing how eager the three players were to learn about the beginner training, Viserys nodded in satisfaction. "A good 'leek' is one with a clear goal in mind."
"Follow me." Viserys beckoned, and the three players followed him like chicks towards the shade of the tree.
Leaning against a large tree, looking at the three players of varying heights, Viserys slowly spoke:
"Let me demonstrate it for you first, watch carefully."
King Viserys, who was originally powerless and beggar, retrieved the beginner swordsmanship scroll from the bronze treasure chest given to him by the system.
"You have used the skill scroll and mastered the basic swordsmanship skill. Your swordsmanship has reached the initial stage. Your one-handed weapon proficiency has reached 15 points, and your overall combat strength has reached 33 points."
Contrary to expectations, there was no cracking of bones or the appearance of a figure practicing swordsmanship in his mind. In an instant, Viserys, like a cultivator breaking through a bottleneck, had a clear mind and, without any instruction, began to wield his sword in front of the players.
Viserys' swordsmanship is not flashy, and his wide, sweeping moves appear rather stiff, but fortunately, players don't seem to mind.
After completing his swordplay, Viserys sheathed his sword and faced the three players:
"Practice this sword technique three times, then swing your sword one hundred times. This is your beginner's task. After completing it, you can collect ten Kingdom Coins and a Black Iron Treasure Chest from me as a reward."
Players, as "otherworldly warriors" created by the system to help Viserys, are projection clones placed in this world, and naturally have been modified by the system.
So even though Viserys only demonstrated the basic sword technique once, the three players easily memorized the simple beginner-friendly sword routine.
After Viserys gave the three of them a beginner's quest, the three players enthusiastically began wielding their one-handed swords.
"Viserys? Oh! What are you wearing!" Daenerys, who had just washed the dust off her face and was carrying a bag of overcooked black bread out of the room, was about to call her brother to eat when she saw him standing under the shade of a tree, fully armored, and was momentarily stunned.
Where did his brother get such magnificent armor?
Just moments ago, the brother and sister were barely able to fill their stomachs with the charity of others, but the next moment, his brother appeared before them in a magnificent suit of armor.
Daenerys had never encountered such a mind-bending situation.
"A new NPC has appeared?" Xian Dan wiped the sweat from his forehead as he looked at the girl with the same silver hair as Viserys.
"They look so alike, they must be either the older or younger sister," Zhao Xiaotian said with certainty.
"As the saying goes, a word from a wise man is better than a single conversation," Xian Dan remarked, picking his nose as he listened.
"I mean, am I the only one who noticed that she's a beauty in the making?" My sister-in-law was still obsessed with me, not even sparing Daenerys.
Daenerys, standing at the doorway, stared blankly in this direction, a hint of wariness unconsciously creeping into her eyes.
Viserys stepped forward and kicked the player, who was walking in, in the butt, causing her to stumble.
"This is my sister, Daenerys, princess of Dragonstone, born of the Stormborn, a true dragon descendant. Do not be rude!"
The dragon is gone. Without the protection of its wings, why should they cling to the title and the hopeless cause of restoring their kingdom? Daenerys thought this, but dared not say it to her brother's face.
Note that any actions you take may affect your favorability rating among important NPCs throughout the game.
If your favorability with His Majesty the King is too low, you will not receive the same generous rewards as other normal players. A negative favorability rating could even lead to your execution by His Majesty the King.
[Note: Players who are beheaded by order of His Majesty the King will have their accounts permanently banned and will be unable to log in using a different account.]
Offending this NPC could get your account banned!
The timely reminder from the little fire spirit in the minds of all the players immediately extinguished the burning anger in their hearts.
In his view, he hadn't even had a chance to experience such an open game world yet, and it would be a huge loss if he were blacklisted by the game's official team because of his momentary sexual repression.
Seeing the three players instantly transform into diligent students, meticulously practicing their swordsmanship, Viserys finally turned his attention back to his younger sister, the future Mother of Dragons.
"They are the descendants of the loyal followers who followed Rhaegar, whose fathers sacrificed their precious lives for the dynasty at the Battle of the Trident."
They crossed the sea to follow the true dragon; look, this armor I'm wearing was brought by them!
Listening to her brother's explanation, even though she still had some doubts, Daenerys, who never dared to contradict Viserys, nodded silently, and then timidly said:
"But there's not enough food..."
"Haha, we're not hungry, Your Highness!"
The three players, whose ears were as sharp as the wind, looked at the beautiful NPC with fake smiles on their faces. Their favorability rating was related to their game accounts.
What a joke! They're here to play games; who cares about food from medieval foreigners?
