Chapter 49 Telephone
Chapter 49 Telephone
"We're planning to circle the coast of the Eurubian continent, and then..." Before Eligi could finish describing his plan, the phone in his pocket rang, interrupting the conversation.
The sound of "beep beep beep beep" echoed in the quiet bar.
Eliji apologized, got up, glanced at his phone number, and saw it was Kurapika.
It's almost June, and based on Kurapika's training time, he should have completed the basic Nen training.
It's probably not just about basic Nen training. Judging from his performance against the Phantom Troupe members later on, he should know advanced Nen techniques and have even mastered one or two, such as "Solidity" and "Flow".
Even Kurapika would probably find it very difficult to master all the skills in a short period of time.
Kurapika also needs to spend time developing his Nen ability.
Judging from the phone call, Kurapika must have completed his Nen training, which is why he's so eager to get information about his enemy from Eriji.
After thinking for a moment, Eliji walked outside the bar, looked around, and only answered Kurapika's call when he saw no one was there.
"Kurapika, what do you want?"
"A deal? I know. Just name a place, and we'll talk when we meet."
"Okay, I'll wait for your message."
After a few simple words, Ailiji hung up the phone, muttering to himself, "Looks like the scouting will have to be postponed. What can I do? I'm a person who keeps my promises."
Putting his phone away and returning to the bar, Eric looked at Mo Laowu and apologized, "Where were we?"
"Hehehe, you just mentioned that you want to take a trip along the coast of the Youlubian Continent. That's no small project," Mo Laowu replied after taking a sip of beer.
Ellige took a sip of beer and then sighed, "I probably can't go. A friend just called urgently, wanting to see me."
"Oh, it seems things are urgent. Do you need any help?" Mo Laowu asked, raising his glass. After just a few words, he felt that he could get along with Ailiji.
Eliji naturally shook his head and refused, only entrusting Mo Laowu with the task of finding the island. It's most efficient to leave professional matters to professionals.
Mo Laowu readily agreed to do what was convenient for him, and didn't even ask for Ailigie's employment fee.
It's important to know that hiring a one-star hunter isn't cheap; it starts at least at one billion.
It's just good luck that Ellige was able to spend over a billion dollars to hire Bisky.
And so, after finishing his meal, Ailiji set off from town to begin a new journey.
Sigrún has taught at the Iceland University of the Arts as a part-time lecturer since and was Dean of the Department of Fine Art from -. In – she held a research position at Reykjavík Art Museum focusing on the role of women in Icelandic art. She studied fine art at the Icelandic College of Arts and Crafts and at Pratt Institute, New York, and holds BA and MA degrees in art history and philosophy from the University of Iceland. Sigrún lives and works in Iceland.
In mid-June, in an abandoned urban complex, Aliji and his group hid in a building.
Because Eligi eliminated the gang's evil beast, he was somewhat disrespectful to the gang.
Eligi and his group were successfully displayed on the underground black market. Each head was worth 1 billion Jenny. The names of the people displayed were quite complete, including Hinata, Kiba, Shino, Gaara, and even Kakashi.
The six of them together have a bounty of six billion. Not to mention other bounty hunters, even Eligi would be willing to trade his own head for Jenny.
So during this time, we learned how Eligi and his group had managed.
Many people who couldn't recognize their own strength came to attack, leaving Eliji no time to even eat.
Left with no other choice, Ailiji had to hide his tracks and try to avoid entering densely populated large towns.
After this incident, Ailiji realized that the power of the underworld was not as simple as he had imagined.
No wonder the Phantom Troupe had to fake their deaths to escape after causing such a ruckus; they were probably afraid their heads would be on the black market.
However, Sasori still possessed some strength, managing to hide himself and Hidan from being listed on the black market.
Eriji looked out the window and soon saw Kurapika approaching. Kurapika had been learning Nen for four or five months.
From the outside, his Nen ability is quite ordinary; he is not a Nen master.
However, after activating Scarlet Eyes, Kurapika's strength can increase several times over instantly. Combined with the Nen ability he specially set up for the Phantom Troupe, this is why he was able to defeat the Phantom Troupe members later on.
A smile played on Eliji's lips. Instead of immediately going down to see Kurapika, he raised his hand, making a gun shape, aimed it at Kurapika, and silently chanted, "Rainbow Sandstorm Technique!"
"Hmm!" Kurapika was very alert and sensed it the moment Erigi aimed at him.
When the sand bullets came flying at him, Kurapika retreated repeatedly and quickly spun the chains on his hands to block the sand bullets flying from behind.
Just then, Hinata leaped from the top of the building and unleashed an astonishing burst of energy with one hand at Kurapika.
Kurapika was startled and felt a great threat. He dared not take the hit head-on and kept retreating.
"Boom!"
The street surface shook slightly, stirring up a cloud of dust that obscured the street.
"Whoosh!"
A gentle breeze swept by, dispersing the dust and revealing Kurapika's feet bound by sand and gravel. Eriji appeared behind Kurapika, a kunai pressed against the back of his neck, and asked in a cold voice, "Who sent you?"
Kurapika glanced at Erigi behind him and calmly said, "Erigi, there's a limit to jokes."
Upon hearing this, a smile appeared on Eligi's originally cold face. After putting away the kunai, he said, "With your current strength, you don't stand much of a chance against the Phantom Troupe members. It's better not to seek revenge for now. It would be a shame to lose you as a friend."
"I have my own trump card. Even if the members of the Phantom Troupe are more powerful than you, I am confident that I can capture them."
Kurapika was clearly agitated, his fists clenched, the chains on his hands jingling, but his eyes did not turn fiery red.
It looks like she was wearing colored contact lenses or something similar.
Seeing the chains on Kurapika's hands, Erij knew that the other party had finally developed the Nen ability that risked his life.
Seeing this, Eliji didn't say anything. This was the path Kurapika had chosen. He simply turned around silently and said, "Come on."
"Bang!"
Just then, a gunshot rang out in the quiet night, and Ailiji tilted his head to dodge the bullet.
This scene surprised Kurapika, who was standing behind him. He knew that the muzzle velocity of a sniper rifle was two or three times faster than that of a pistol, and even Kurapika wasn't confident that he could dodge it.
Eric glanced at the bullet holes behind him; the attackers' weapons were getting more and more troublesome.
Eligi then picked up a stone, concentrated his spiritual energy on it, and threw it toward the building from which the shooting had taken place. A scream was heard immediately afterward.
It's clear that Eligi hit the target.
Under pressure, it is indeed the fastest catalyst for growth. In the month that the gang had a bounty on his head, Ailiji learned to dodge bullets and throw stones.
Now, the power of the stones that Aliji throws is no different from that of bullets fired from a rifle; it is extremely powerful.
Eliji glanced at the stunned Kurapika and said calmly, "Let's go! It's going to get lively here soon, let's find a quiet place."
"Was it still those guys from Meteor City who attacked you?" Kurapika couldn't help but ask. During the Hunter Exam, Erigi had mentioned that he only took the exam to avoid being hunted down.
Now that Kurapika has mastered Nen, he understands the difference between Nen users and ordinary people. He never expected that a strong team like Eriji would be constantly hunted down and forced to hide everywhere.
