Chapter 295: Your Majesty Darkseid, why did you surrender first?
"The Meditation Mite has become a huge magical node."
Darkseid stood silently in mid-air, watching as Mite turned his head and called out his name with delight using his ugly compound eyes.
His mind kept replaying what Batman had told him.
"I heard the incantation... seven locks, seven doors. A hidden magical realm revealed itself to the warrior... Not only did those doors burst open, they were also erased forever. A continent, a war, without locks, without doors. And this is precisely where the most dangerous place for the Mite of Meditation lies."
"Great Darkseid. Once the Justice League is completely eliminated, the seven continents will be united as one, and the human world will become a sacrifice. This new kingdom... my kingdom, and your kingdom, will not reject the existence of Darkseid and magic."
"We will protect it, we will completely rule it, now I am the true warrior, ha ha ha, ha ha ha ha ha ha ha ha..."
Darkseid's rock-like face showed a thoughtful expression.
When did he ever promise the Mites that they would "rule together"?
Well, it must have been some minor errors in the communication process. Even without Batman, he would have corrected those mistakes.
He raised his fist, continuing to recall Batman and his words in his mind.
"You can't kill the Meditation Mite directly. It has already absorbed most of the magical energy from other magical continents. I'm sure those magical dimensions are in turmoil right now, and they are powerless to stop what the Meditation Mite is doing to them."
"Color appears in the dark land that was always only black and white... Game bugs appear in the game land that was like a real game world... Lightning flashes and thunder roars in the sky of the Mysterious Land... The playground in the Wonderland turns into a terrifying monster hell... And the Savage Land..."
"You absolutely cannot just suddenly kill the Mite. It's like a barrel filled with hot oil; once lit, it will burst into flames. Perhaps you don't quite understand these abstract concepts, but that's the truth:"
If he dies, the sudden release of the magic it absorbed will be detrimental to my planet. Therefore, you must ensure that when you attack him, his injuries are not too severe to cause his death; at the same time, you must ensure that his injuries are not too minor to leave him with any ability to resist. You must find the right balance.
This sounds like an ambiguous statement.
Darkseid pondered silently, as still as a rock.
"Such complicated requirements, didn't you really think I might make a mistake?"
He recalled what he had said to Batman.
"So, are you going to make a mistake?"
"I won't."
"Then that's settled. You're Darkseid, you have the control, and I trust you, my teammate."
I trust you... I trust you... I trust you...
Darkseid blinked. He felt that the voice was layered and reverberating in his mind, sounding both ironic and funny.
"You are a man of your word. Once you promise me something, you will get it done, and you will never mess it up. As long as you severely injure the Meditation Mite, I will immediately appear and control him with magic. Then we will deal with the other matters. I will help you deal with the Supreme Superman. I mean what I say."
Darkseid shook his head slightly, trying to shake the praise of Batman out of his mind, and then began to distill the information from their conversation.
He always felt that Batman was hiding something from him. All of this... his reason for "not being able to kill the Mist Mite" seemed a bit strange. It sounded reasonable, but it also had a kind of alluring quality to it, as if he was taking advantage of someone's ignorance of magic.
Darkseid indeed did not understand magic.
But it doesn't matter, even if Batman has some kind of conspiracy, he has other plans.
"His Majesty Darkseid? His Majesty Darkseid?"
"Um?"
Darkseid snapped out of his daze and saw the Mistletoe standing before him, kneeling obsequiously. Although it was merely a magical worm, it had many legs, allowing it to bend its knees many times more than others.
"Your Majesty Darkseid, will you personally deal with these foolish rebels, or will your loyal servant Mite do it for you? Once we've killed the Justice League, we can slowly search the earth for Billy Batson's father, who Batman has hidden away..."
Whether it was because he had absorbed too much magic or because he was about to see the light of victory, the Mite of Meditation seemed somewhat deranged:
"...thus completely seizing that magic! The territory is yours, and the magic is mine! All matter belongs to Darkseid, and all magic belongs to the Mite of Meditation!"
Darkseid frowned, thought for a moment, and then said, "Alright. Then go ahead and do it."
"It is... the great Darkseid..."
Darkseid watched as the other party diligently turned his head towards the Justice League member who was using magic. Amazing... what was that amazing thing again?
In short, he continued to attack that magical thing, and the two fought fiercely. The Mite, with its powerful magical body, temporarily gained the upper hand, but the Justice League member was still able to use magic to attack the Mite's fragile, magically swollen abdomen for a considerable period of time.
Even though the warrior was hammering the Mite repeatedly, it still cried and whined like a child, demanding that the Mite return its father like a frail infant.
"Your father? Oh, poor Billy, are you still not ready to accept reality? Why would you save your father? He's nothing but scum, a disgrace!"
"I've had enough of your nonsense! Give me back my father! This is all my fault!"
Seeing Billy still wailing and rushing towards him, Mite finally hardened his expression and said coldly, "Fine, since you still don't believe me, I'll give up trying to persuade you and send you to your coffin. Don't worry, if I have the chance, I'll definitely send your father down to join you. That will at least fulfill the sincere bond between you two, even if only you, you poor little wretch, have that bond! Wait a minute..."
On the ugly, grotesque face of the Mite of Meditation, a look of surprise and delight suddenly appeared. He abruptly began to spin in circles: "My magic, my magic has broken through a certain barrier while continuously absorbing... I can feel your father again... and the power from Shazam that I absorbed through him..."
He turned to look at the sobbing Billy, his eyes gleaming with even greater ambition: "Look... what a surprise! I was worried that after killing you completely, it would take a lot of time to fully reclaim the power of Shazam... but now it's been delivered right to my door, hasn't it? It seems that Batman's mastery of magic is ultimately limited, and the entire Justice League is utterly foolish, completely unaware of how magic works."
He floated in place and first used a small spell to send Shazam flying. Billy tried to get up from the ground and fly over to continue the fight, but he was immediately imprisoned on the ground, lying on his back in a starfish position.
"Quiet down, little guy." A thick malice almost dripped from Mistman's compound eyes. Billy was sure that every word he was saying to him now was something that other wizards had said to the weak Mistman at some point in time.
"A piece of trash like you could never possibly understand magic. Before the power of great magic, you're nothing but a feeble worm. Look at you, hahaha, you're even trying to break my spell? With what? With your half-baked magic?"
He seemed to be deliberately imitating the tone of those wizards who had once bullied him, in order to satisfy some kind of venting desire within himself. This was so obvious that once he started imitating, his tone became particularly strange.
"Who taught you magic? A book?"
The traumas of his youth reshaped the Mist Mite, not only turning him into an evil magical monster that terrified countless mages, but also leaving him with a permanent scar on his heart.
He slammed Billy to the ground and began chanting obscure and complex syllables.
As he uttered the command, a portal opened in the void, and flying from the other side of the portal was none other than C.C. Batson, the traitor who should have been captured by Batman and imprisoned with Supergirl Kara, who is also the biological father of Shazam Billy Batson.
He floated in mid-air, his eyes gleaming white, and drifted toward the Meditation Mite. The closer he got to the giant insect, the more his binding magic crumbled before the Meditation Mite's immense magical power, without the Mite needing to cast any more counter-spells.
The magic vanished completely when they appeared before the Mist Mite. CC Batson grinned maliciously, and the Mist Mite's insect-like face also displayed the same anthropomorphic smile.
"Come, come... merge with me, possess immense magic and the power of the wizard Shazam, and I will be invincible!"
"No!"
Shazam, bound to the ground by the binding magic, roared to the sky. He struggled desperately, frantically casting all sorts of random spells he had learned from books, trying to rescue his father from the clutches of the Meditation Mite. But all his efforts were in vain. He could only watch as the giant Meditation Mite shrank little by little, about to fly into C.C. Batson's cochlea.
"Waaaaah, Daddy..."
Finally, he started to cry.
The process was rather slow; the Mist Mite's body was simply too large, and it had absorbed so much magic that its body had become incredibly bloated.
These magical powers granted him a spellcasting limit beyond that of a regular mage, but they were also limited by his own magical power level. The current Mist Mite was like an athlete who had become extremely obese; no matter how exquisite his technique, it could not compensate for the sudden increase in weight. Therefore, in terms of specific spellcasting, although the power was strong, the speed became somewhat slow, especially for spells cast on himself.
"No...no..."
"You're wasting your time..." The body of the meditation mite had begun to shrink from the size of a giant truck to that of a leopard.
This body shape was just right, allowing Darkseid to grab the lower half with one hand and crush it.
See? Isn't this exactly what Batman wanted? The Mite has now transformed into a long worm, small enough to fit perfectly. Where to cut it off determines the extent of the injury—simple and clear.
As the meditation mite shrank, it continued to cackle eerily: "Despair... be afraid, tremble, weep!"
Giant insects sang merrily in the air:
"With Darkseid's help, you and your Justice League will never be able to..."
boom!
"...?" Mite turned his head and looked at Darkseid blankly.
Billy froze, staring blankly at Darkseid.
"What... what exactly is going on?"
"roar!!!!"
Darkseid roared, his voice deafening: "Darkseid!!! I was so loyal to you, why... how dare you..."
Darkseid's unsportsmanlike ambush ripped apart the lower half of Mite's body. Mite desperately interrupted his shrinking spell, raised his head, and unleashed a magical breath at Darkseid, causing his upper body to once again become enormous: "You have betrayed our oath, Darkseid! I pledged my loyalty to you!"
"And this loyalty is worthless," Darkseid said.
"Then go die!!!"
Suffering such a heavy blow, Darkseid seemed to be somewhat out of his mind. He flapped his fleshy wings in a rage, unleashing all sorts of free spells at Darkseid. But in an instant, he saw Batman appear beside him.
"Do you need any help?"
"You!" The Mite felt as if all the hairs on its body were about to stand on end.
"The magic mage is completely unable to cast spells! (The mage is utterly unable to cast magic!)"
boom!!!
The violent explosion of the Omega rays completely destroyed all of the Meditation Mite's attacks. The Meditation Mite trembled as it looked into the smoke and dust, where a pair of red eyes shone towards it like lanterns.
"Your actions just now were unnecessary. I can handle something as easy as you."
"I can still use CC Batson..."
Batman's appearance finally brought Mister to his senses. He hurriedly tried to mobilize C.C. Batson, who had absorbed Billy Batson's Shazam magic and was the perfect candidate to use magic stolen from other continents.
Now that CC Batson has been brought back, we can completely rely on him...
Then, the next moment he saw CC Batson suddenly hug him without any control over him, and then stick to his body, directly cutting off its still changing magical trajectory.
Darkseid punched Mite so hard that half of his body exploded.
