Chapter 36 Conditions You Can't Refuse
Chapter 36 Conditions You Can't Refuse
Carter, who was knocking on the door, was chased out by two bodyguards of Congressman Wood.
Raphael flung open the carriage door and jumped down arrogantly. As he passed the gate of the townhouse, he casually broke off a piece of wood and threw it at the two bodyguards at the gate.
The two bodyguards immediately realized what was happening and reached into their pockets to pull out their guns.
With his other hand, he prepared to block the flying piece of wood.
But how can two ordinary people withstand the attack of a Sequence 7?
puff~
The piece of wood that Raphael threw actually pierced the chest of one of the bodyguards.
The bodyguard stared in disbelief at the piece of wood embedded in his chest, took two steps back, and collapsed to the ground.
Carter lunged forward to stop the other bodyguard from drawing his gun, but he wasn't as strong as the bodyguard and was pushed away.
But this gave Raphael time. His eyes suddenly turned brown, and the nail on his left index finger grew longer. With a "slice," he slashed open the bodyguard's stomach, and the man's intestines and other internal organs spilled out.
Since mastering the "Wolf Fang Technique," Raphael has been able to complete only part of his transformation, such as growing two or three wolf claws in a short period of time.
Amid the maid's screams, Raphael strode in, his eyes returning to normal. Wiping the blood from his fingers, he said to the maid, "Please take us to Mr. Wood. We have something very important to discuss."
"Yes, yes, yes." The maid hurriedly went upstairs.
After ordering one of his men to watch over the two seriously injured bodyguards, Raphael went upstairs.
Wagner, dressed as a Mafia henchman, followed behind with an admiring smile. Just a second before Raphael made his move, he was joking with him, but the moment Raphael opened the car door, his entire demeanor seemed to change. Arrogance mingled with restraint, brutality with tranquility.
At the same time, Wagner was certain that Raphael was an extraordinary being.
The maid led Raphael upstairs. Wood heard the noise from downstairs and saw that he had already put on his bathrobe and was sitting behind his desk.
Upon seeing Raphael, Wood smiled contemptuously: "Lord Collins, are you also going to break my leg bone?"
Raphael sat opposite Wood, took out a cigarette, and Carter immediately stepped forward and lit it for him.
He took a slow, deliberate drag on his cigarette before saying calmly, "I hope Mr. Wood will stop targeting me and merely express his condolences for Holm's death."
"Hahaha, you barbarians!" Wood sneered. "Don't think I can be scared by your words. You're dead. The charge is threatening Councilor Rune."
"Do you even know what powers the Ruhnn Constitution grants to members of parliament? You bunch of sons of bitches, go back and look it up in the Constitution, you're all dead."
Raphael, however, was not angry at all: "Don't rush to refuse. Listen to my conditions first. I believe you will definitely not be able to refuse."
"I heard that the congressman really likes keeping Dalmatians?"
Wood said coldly, "Do you think there's any point in talking to me?"
Raphael smiled and said, "Perhaps you should take a look at the gift I brought first."
As he spoke, he waved to his subordinates.
An underling immediately handed over a large, exquisite gift box.
Wood retorted, "Even if you fill the gift box with gold pounds, I won't let you off the hook!"
"Oh, I don't have that much money," Raphael laughed. "But this gift is much more interesting than gold pounds; I think you'll like it."
He chuckled twice: "I'm really looking forward to seeing your expression when you see this gift."
Wood frowned, opening the gift box with a mixture of curiosity and suspicion. Inside, however, was a Dalmatian dog's head, and this dog was none other than his most beloved one.
"Ah~"
Wood yelled, whether from surprise, fear, or both, it was hard to tell.
"Hahaha!" Raphael laughed heartily, admiring the other's expression.
The shouts and laughter combined to create a jarring and chilling sound.
Wagner clapped his hands, sensing that Wood was emotionally broken.
Half a minute later, Wood stopped yelling, and by then, he looked at Raphael with a hint of fear in his eyes.
Raphael then smiled and said, "I am a law-abiding citizen, and of course I would not do anything to harm Councilor Ruen."
"But I remember that your parents, wife, and eldest son, who is already an adult, all have heads, and their heads don't seem to be any harder than this Dalmatian's."
He stood up and said, "Councilor Rune belongs to Rune, but his life belongs to himself."
After saying that, he quickly left with his men.
On the carriage, Wagner repeatedly praised Raphael: "I never imagined that dismantling a person's heart could be such a delightful thing."
Raphael smiled and said, "The fact that you like my way of doing things means that your organization is exactly the home I've been looking for."
Around 4 p.m., Raphael, along with Carter and Wagner, visited Isaacs again. This time it was a formal visit, held at the Backlund Police Station, and they had an appointment.
Isaacs knew that Raphael was the head of the Mafia, or rather, he knew the gang leaders in various districts of Backlund very well. Usually, such visits meant that someone wanted something from him, and if someone came to give him money, he would certainly not refuse.
After exchanging a few words, Raphael explained his purpose: "I've heard that someone is trying to get back at me."
Isaacs replied indifferently, "Maybe, maybe not."
Raphael shook his head and said, "I hate this kind of answer, but we're not familiar with each other yet. I hope that once we are, you won't give me this kind of answer anymore."
Isaacs's expression was not good. The young man in front of him was too arrogant, and he was already planning to teach him a lesson.
But he quickly dismissed the idea, because Raphael continued, "As far as I know, the Stingers gang in the Bridge District is a criminal organization supported by the Fussac Embassy and has been secretly gathering intelligence for Fussac."
Raphael shrugged: "In this tense international situation, cracking a major espionage case should be a significant help to your current competition."
Isaacs paused for a moment, then said seriously, "I need sufficient evidence, preferably several witnesses."
Raphael smiled and said, "No problem."
"What do you want?" Isaacs continued.
Raphael said, "I think some people's deaths are purely accidental and have nothing to do with anyone else."
Isaacs then asked, "For example, whose death?"
Raphael leaned back in his chair: "For example, some businessmen, some gang members."
"No problem." This was no big deal for Isaacs: "It's a pleasure working with you."
"It's a pleasure to cooperate." At that moment, Raphael suddenly felt that he had absorbed quite a bit of his "Fallen Angel" potion.
His smile became even more genuine: So this is what it means to associate with evil and follow the flow of wicked desires.
