Chapter 134 Absorbing the Space Gem
Chapter 134 Absorbing the Space Gem
The Holy Lord took out the Space Cube, and blue light shone in his palm. The gem hidden inside the cube's structure began to vibrate, with the frequency increasing, and fine cracks appeared on the outer shell.
The Holy Lord didn't use any force; he simply held it, and the Rubik's Cube shattered on its own.
The Space Stone floated among the fragments. The Holy Master opened his palm, and the stone flew towards him and disappeared into his palm.
This is the third one.
Mind Gem, Reality Gem, Space Gem.
The three Infinity Stones began to resonate within him, and blue, yellow, and red light emanated from beneath his skin, spreading along the patterns of his meridians.
"Ugh."
A sigh came from the void, without direction or source, but Wanda heard it.
She turned her head and glanced at an unusual point of refraction in the sky. There was nothing there, but her chaotic senses told her that something had been standing there for a long time.
Observer.
The sigh was drawn out, as if mourning something irreversible.
The Holy Lord's body was changing. The power of the Space Stone had a chain reaction with the other two. The ground within three meters of him began to crack, not from being crushed by the power, but from the distortion of space itself. The material structure was being shattered by the vibration of the underlying rules.
The Temple's second main gun has opened fire.
Thanos gave the order.
On the bridge, General Corvus Glaive executed the attack swiftly, covering the entire ship with fire without leaving any gaps.
The entire sky of Titan was illuminated by the gunfire.
The laser beam poured down from the orbit, so dense that it appeared as a wall of light to the naked eye, covering a radius of two kilometers, with the Holy Lord's location at the very center.
The Holy Lord did not move.
The Horse Talisman is activated.
The Reality Stone's enhancement elevated the spell's effect beyond its original level; it was no longer simply healing or restoration, but a negation of the very concept of "damage." The laser beam struck him thirty centimeters in front of him without exploding or deflecting. The beam hit, and then the state of that area automatically reverted to before it was struck.
The connection between cause and effect has been severed.
The attack exists, but the result of the attack does not exist.
The laser beam lasted for a full ten minutes, blasting a crater two kilometers in diameter and more than three hundred meters deep into the ground. In the very center of the crater, there was a patch of undamaged ground with a radius of about five meters, where the Holy Lord stood.
Wanda stood behind Shendu. She raised the Chaos Shield the moment the bombardment began, but the shield absorbed zero damage. Shendu blocked everything from the outside, and not a single ray of light escaped behind.
Wanda put away her shield and looked up at Shendu's back.
The absorption of the Space Stone entered its final stage. Blue light emanated from the Saint's body and spread outwards, resonating with the surrounding space. The intact ground beneath his feet began to float, slowly rising half a meter.
Wanda's eyes reflected the back of the Holy Lord; he truly was his master.
What the Holy Lord is now displaying is no longer just power, but a personhood.
The light dimmed.
A faint phantom image appeared behind the Holy Lord, like a lingering image in the air when a projection device malfunctions. It was an Eastern dragon. The phantom image did not last long and quickly disappeared.
The Holy Lord flexed his fingers, and the power of the Space Stone had completely merged into his body. He could feel the folds and cracks in every inch of space around Titan, the orbital altitude of Temple II, the fleet's formation, and the firing angle of each cannon—all within his perception range.
The main gun array began its second round of charging.
The Holy Lord raised his right hand and casually drew a line in the air with his index finger.
The space in front of them was turned over like pages in a book. The beams of the second salvo from the 36 main cannons of Temple II pierced through the atmosphere and changed direction when they reached 100 meters in front of the target coordinates.
Thirty-six laser beams were folded and redirected by space, divided into seven groups, and bounced back to seven nodes in the Temple II fleet array.
The first group of projectiles struck the engine area of the left-wing frigate, splitting the hull in two. The second group penetrated the ammunition replenishment ship's storage compartments, the resulting fireball expanding silently in the vacuum. The third through sixth groups reduced the four destroyers in the middle of the formation to scrap metal.
The seventh group directly hit the bridge shield of the Temple II.
The shields held up, but the entire flagship was pushed off course by its own firepower, the hull making a metallic crackling sound as it slowly rotated fifteen degrees in space.
Inside the bridge, Corvus Glaive lay sprawled on the ground, the holographic screen displaying only static.
Thanos remained seated on his throne, but two of the bolts securing it had snapped off. He looked down at the purple light emanating from his gauntlet, the Power Stone responding to his emotions.
The holographic screen restored the image.
Seven warships were burning, their debris scattered across Titan's orbit, forming a glowing arc. The person on the ground withdrew their hand, not even glancing up again.
Thanos stood up.
He walked to the edge of the bridge and ripped off his outer robe. Corvus Glaive had just gotten up from the ground and opened his mouth to say something when Thanos jumped out of the observation window of the bridge.
At an orbital altitude of 800 kilometers, in free fall, the friction of the atmosphere burned a layer of orange-red light onto his body. The Power Stone's protective barrier kept the high temperature at bay, and Thanos crashed into the surface of Titan like a purple meteor.
The landing point was 300 meters away from the Holy Lord. The shockwave overturned a pile of rubble, and the dust it kicked up formed a mushroom cloud.
The dust settled.
Thanos emerged from the crater, only the Power Stone on the Infinity Gauntlet glowing, purple light flowing along the gauntlet's patterns. He was nearly a meter taller than Shendu and weighed more than five times as much, leaving footprints on the ground with every step he took.
The Holy Lord stood there waiting for him.
The scene is very disproportionate in terms of size, with a purple giant nearly three meters tall walking towards a man of normal human height. But Wanda noticed a detail: when Thanos was fifty meters away from Shendu, his pace slowed down.
The timeline memory that Thanos had deliberately suppressed was frantically warning him. His body remembered the feeling of being pinned to the ground by this person. Even though his will was forcing him to move forward, the microscopic reactions of his muscles had already betrayed him.
The Holy Lord held the Eternal Spear, its butt dragging on the ground, drawing a line.
Thanos stopped twenty meters away.
"Thanos," the Holy Lord called him by his real name, his tone as if addressing a junior, "Is all you've got going for these toys?"
Thanos clenched his left fist, the purple light of the Power Stone gathering on his knuckles, and the energy readings were climbing wildly.
"You shouldn't have come to Titan." Thanos's voice was low, each word squeezed out from between his teeth.
"Titan is your grave; I've just come to sweep your grave."
Thanos threw a punch.
The power gem unleashed its full power in a punch, the purple light solidifying into a tangible form, the space itself trembling even before the fist's force arrived.
The Holy Lord raised his hand, and a red light shone from his palm.
The two colors collided at a distance of twenty meters. The purple and red energy streams squeezed each other at the point of contact, and the ground began to crack outward from the point of contact. The cracks expanded in all directions at a visible speed, and the earth beneath their feet howled in agony as it was caught between the two forces.
