Chapter 156 Don't Run Away
Chapter 156 Don't Run Away
Many people came to the clan head's house to offer their congratulations tonight, and Uchiha Ye didn't see Itachi after dinner, which really puzzled her.
"Is he avoiding her?"
"But Itachi clearly invited her over."
Having failed to see the person he wanted to see, Uchiha Hajime teased Sasuke for a while before taking his leave.
Not long after she left, Itachi Uchiha rushed back from outside. "Mother, has Ha already left?"
"Yes, they just left not long ago. You can still catch up with them now."
Upon hearing this, Itachi turned to leave, but was stopped by Fugaku Uchiha, who said, "Itachi, come with me to the front hall to greet the guests."
After receiving the last group of guests, it was already late. Itachi lingered in front of the Uchiha family's house for a while, but ultimately did not knock on the door. He stood there for a while before leaving, as none of his directions led him home.
After leaving, Uchiha Ye wandered aimlessly along the road, unknowingly arriving at the cemetery. When she realized it, a bead of cold sweat appeared on her forehead. "Don't be afraid, don't be afraid. She's so strong now, what's there to be afraid of!"
Despite saying that, her hands were forming hand seals, preparing to use the 'Flying Thunder God Technique' to leave.
Suddenly, footsteps were heard, and Uchiha Ye immediately stopped what he was doing and hid in the bushes nearby.
The 'Flying Thunder God Technique' cannot be revealed to others yet; it can be used openly once she joins Root.
As the sound grew closer, Uchiha Ye finally saw who it was: Kakashi, holding two bouquets of flowers. "They've obviously come to comfort Obito and Rin."
"Kakashi can stand for so long, it's been two hours and he's still not moving, doesn't his legs hurt?" Uchiha Ye couldn't help but yawn, lying down in the grass with his eyes closed to rest, definitely not sleeping.
She hadn't been asleep long when a ripple appeared on a large tree beside her, and a man dressed in a black robe and wearing an orange swirling mask appeared the next second.
"Pretending!" Obito looked at Kakashi standing in front of the memorial stone with disdain.
White Zetsu exclaimed in surprise, "Obito, look down quickly!"
"Uchiha Yoh, what is she doing here?"
"Monitoring Kakashi?"
He thought about it and realized it was impossible; people can't monitor others while they sleep, can they?
Although Obito was somewhat puzzled, he had never forgotten about taking her under his command, and now was the perfect time to make his move.
A ripple appeared in the air as Obito appeared beside Uchiha Hajime.
"You're really carefree, you can even fall asleep like this!"
He helped her lean against him, and just as he was about to suck her into the alternate dimension, Uchiha Ye shifted her body to find a comfortable position before stopping. Obito's body stiffened from her actions; even Rin had never been so intimate with him.
Uchiha Yoh, who was sleeping, frowned as if she sensed something was wrong. She seemed to have fallen asleep by the bushes to avoid Kakashi, but she felt as if she was being enveloped by a warm aura.
Uchiha Ye opened his eyes with a hint of confusion. Seeing the person in front of him, he thought he was dreaming. He rubbed his eyes and exclaimed, "He's still here!" He instantly woke up and jumped up.
"It's you!" she shouted through gritted teeth, quickly putting distance between them.
"That was close, I almost got ambushed." Uchiha Ye patted her chest with lingering fear, but something felt off. Wasn't she just in his arms?
His scent smells so familiar; I feel like I've smelled it somewhere before.
It's quite strange that someone who harbors ill intentions towards her should have been wary of her before even getting close.
Now is not the time to think about this. She hasn't had anyone to practice with since she entered the Golden Core stage, so this is definitely a good opportunity.
Obito glanced at her, then disappeared from the spot. He had achieved his goal in Konoha and could leave now.
"No way, they just ran away?"
"He has no backbone at all." Uchiha Ye glanced disdainfully at the spot where Obito had disappeared.
"Ye, you're lost again." A familiar voice made her realize what was going on.
It turns out Kakashi heard the commotion. No wonder Obito ran away; he was afraid of being recognized!
"Kakashi-senpai, did I disturb you?" Since Kakashi had made an excuse for her, she naturally took the opportunity to admit it.
Kakashi's eyes clearly showed displeasure upon hearing this form of address. "Have we become so distant after all this time?"
"Also, call me by my name," Kakashi said, his face practically touching mine.
"I know, I definitely won't forget next time." Uchiha Ye blinked, staring at Kakashi who was right in front of him, and couldn't help but touch him.
"If I take off his mask, I shouldn't get knocked away, right?" The thought had barely crossed her mind when her hand was grabbed. "I'll take you back!" Kakashi said, suppressing his inner turmoil.
"Ah, okay!" She withdrew her hand, secretly regretting that she should have acted faster.
Kakashi's mind was now filled with the beautiful scenery he had accidentally seen.
"What's wrong with Kakashi? Wasn't he supposed to be taking her back? Why is he going further and further astray?" Uchiha Ye, now that he was thinking clearly, immediately noticed something was wrong.
"Could it be a shortcut?" she asked, looking puzzled.
Ten minutes later, Uchiha Ye asked, "Kakashi, where are we going?"
Kakashi finally snapped out of his daze, a sheepish smile spreading across his face. "Sorry, I was thinking about something and didn't notice."
He looked down and saw something he shouldn't have, and two red blushes instantly rose on his cheeks. Fortunately, it was night and he was wearing a mask, so Uchiha Ye didn't notice anything.
"Kakashi, can I hear about your former teammates?"
"I've heard rumors that you even killed your own comrades to complete your mission, but that must be false!" she said with a rather certain tone.
Kakashi was stunned. This was the first time he had heard someone say these words: "the feeling of being trusted."
"Yes, I will never abandon my comrades." Kakashi stared at Uchiha Yoru and gave an affirmative answer.
Uchiha Ye also cooperated by showing an expression of 'I knew this would be the answer,' successfully dispelling the gloom in Kakashi's heart. 'So this is what it feels like to be unconditionally trusted.'
The bright moonlight stretched their shadows long; one talked about the past, while the other listened quietly, creating a harmonious scene.
After hearing Kakashi's story, she arrived at her doorstep just in time and couldn't help but exclaim in admiration, "Kakashi, you're really amazing! It must have been a tough journey for you!"
"If it were me, I definitely couldn't do what you did."
She recalled many people's comments about Obito and Kakashi: the one who should have turned evil didn't, while the one who shouldn't have turned evil did—how ironic.
Kakashi paused and said, "Yo, you don't need to underestimate yourself. You're very good."
Upon hearing Kakashi's praise, Uchiha Ye gave a sweet smile and uttered two words, "Thank you."
