Chapter 214 Lu Yuan
Chapter 214 Lu Yuan
After meeting dozens of people in the morning, Yang Xiao finally calmed down at noon. He and Zhong Qiang sat by Lu Yuan's bedside, hoping that Lu Yuan would wake up soon while reviewing their current situation.
"What kind of novel is this? How come there are so many reincarnated people? How can they still cause a zombie virus outbreak after they've all been reborn?" Zhong Qiang couldn't understand it at all, and he was already banging his head against a pillow.
"What did you say?" Yang Xiao suddenly looked at Zhong Qiang. "What did you just say?"
"What did I say?" Zhong Qiang stared blankly at Yang Xiao. "How come there are so many reincarnated people?"
“Not that sentence,” Yang Xiao shook his head.
"What kind of novel is this?" Zhong Qiang continued, "You don't also suspect we're characters in a novel, do you? Holy crap, we've awakened in a novel? Then what am I..."
"What nonsense are you thinking? I meant the last sentence, the very last sentence!" Yang Xiao ruthlessly interrupted Zhong Qiang's train of thought and asked again, "The last sentence you said..."
"They've all been reborn?" Zhong Qiang asked tentatively, and seeing that Yang Xiao had no further reaction, he continued, "How could they still cause a zombie virus outbreak?"
"Yes, that's the sentence." Yang Xiao nodded. "So many people have been reborn, why didn't anyone stop the zombie virus outbreak?"
"Holy crap!" Yang Xiao was still seriously considering Zhong Qiang's words when he saw Zhong Qiang suddenly jump up and shout at a small round window above their heads.
Before Yang Xiao could even stand up to look, he heard a lot of footsteps in the corridor outside the room. Everyone was moving quickly, as if they were all running towards the deck. However, the three of them were still prisoners, so even if they wanted to go and watch, they couldn't. They could only obediently watch from the small window.
"So many seabirds, so many seabirds!" Zhong Qiang exclaimed, pointing out the window with his mouth agape.
"Holy crap! How are people with trypophobia supposed to live with this?" Yang Xiao glanced at it and lowered his head. He couldn't stand these things; his mind was going to explode.
"Yang Xiao, Yang Xiao!" Suddenly Ji Lang's voice came from the collar of his protective suit. Before, in order to prevent the strange reborn people from discovering this function of the protective suit, he and Zhong Qiang had turned off the small speaker. Now that it was suddenly turned on, he felt that it must be the system's doing, as it had even turned the volume down.
"Captain Ji!" Zhong Qiang also heard Ji Lang's voice and couldn't help but shout it out loud. Fortunately, there was no one outside now, so he was not discovered.
"Keep your voice down!" Yang Xiao patted Zhong Qiang on the back to calm him down.
"Isn't this a bit too exciting?" Zhong Qiang smiled, finally seeing a glimmer of hope.
"Yang Xiao, isn't Lu Yuan with you? Why isn't he saying anything?" It was Gu Nanfeng's voice that came through. Yang Xiao and Zhong Qiang's voices could be heard in the communication system, but Lu Yuan was nowhere to be heard. Gu Nanfeng finally couldn't help but speak up.
"Brother Gu?" Yang Xiao was completely surprised that Gu Nanfeng had also come out this time. "Lu Xiaoyuan fainted."
"Lu Yuan fainted?" Pei Sihao's voice came through the phone. "Where are you now? What's going on?"
“We arrived in S City yesterday, and last night…” Zhong Qiang wanted to explain in detail, but Yang Xiao interrupted him.
"This isn't the time to talk about that. We're in the lower deck of this ship, I don't know which deck exactly, but all we can see right now are countless seabirds outside." Yang Xiao glanced out the window and was startled by the birds again.
"We're right in the middle of the flock of seabirds." Ji Lang's voice was a little excited. If Yang Xiao and the others could see the flock of seabirds, it meant they had found the right place.
"Holy shit!" Yang Xiao instinctively wanted to curse the person who came up with this terrible idea, but considering that he didn't know exactly who came up with this method for the flock of seabirds, he held back.
"You have absolutely no way to get out now?" Lin Yun asked.
"The door is locked. We don't know what kind of material it is, but we can't open it. However, there's no one outside now. It seems like everyone has been drawn to the deck by you guys..." Yang Xiao said, and then he saw that Lu Yuan, who was originally lying on the bed, had woken up at some point.
"What's wrong? Why did you stop talking?" Yang Xiao's voice was interrupted, and Ji Lang, worried that something urgent had happened, asked in a low voice.
"Professor Gu, please leave this area and move to a safe zone. We'll be there shortly." Lu Yuan's voice, delivered through the communication system, carried a distinct coldness, completely different from the one Yang Xiao had heard just the day before.
"Hmm." Gu Nanfeng didn't react in any particular way to the way Lu Yuan was addressed, nor did he dwell on it too much. He simply led the seabird away in another direction.
“Lu…Lu Xiaoyuan?” Yang Xiao called out tentatively, but the Lu Yuan in front of him seemed to be a completely different person from the Lu Yuan he knew. His aura and temperament were completely different. He didn’t seem like that rookie college student Lu Yuan at all, but rather like someone who had experienced a lot.
"There's no time to explain now, please step back." After saying that, Lu Yuan raised his right hand, opened the control screen of his mecha, looked at it for a while, and then sighed.
"Dr. Lu, do you need my help?" The system's voice suddenly appeared.
"Level 2 authorization." As Lu Yuan spoke, a password interface appeared in front of him, and he entered the password without hesitation.
Of course, Yang Xiao and the others couldn't see any of this. He and Zhong Qiang only saw Lu Yuan raise his hand and make a few gestures in the air. Then, a stream of light passed through Lu Yuan's mecha. For some reason, Yang Xiao felt that Lu Yuan's mecha had been activated.
"Level 2 authorization complete, some mech functions activated." The system voice sounded again.
Yang Xiao and Zhong Qiang stared at Lu Yuan without blinking. What was going on? Why wasn't the mecha fully activated, but only some of its functions?
Lu Yuan remained calm. He raised his right hand again, and the screen on his arm lit up again. He fiddled with it a couple of times, but Yang Xiao couldn't see it clearly. Then, Lu Yuan stood by the window and punched the ship.
"Holy crap!" Yang Xiao and Zhong Qiang were both shocked by the punch. They thought that Lu Yuan would teleport them onto the helicopter after he woke up, and then fly the helicopter to meet up with Gu Nanfeng and the others. Who knew that Lu Yuan would actually smash the ship's hull with one punch.
"It really won't work without advanced authorization," Lu Yuan muttered to himself.
Lu Yuan's punch shook the entire warship that was frozen on the sea surface. Those who had gone to the deck to watch the seabirds were shaken and staggered. When they looked back at the room where Yang Xiao was, they only saw a large hole in the hull, and the three people in the room were gone.
