Chapter 713 The Principal's Office
"You mean Malfoy also has a plan, and Snape wants to help him? Are you sure you didn't mishear?"
“Yes, I’m pretty sure I heard you right,” Celen said. “Also, Ron, you’ve asked the same question three times already. If you ask it again, I’ll put you in Hedwig’s cage, and I mean it.”
"I'm just checking," Ron said hastily. "But there's one thing I still have to say, Sirius, are you really not going to tell Dumbledore about this?"
"I haven't figured out how to say it yet." Celen stuffed the remaining books into his suitcase and then put the suitcase into his shapeshifting lizard skin bag. That way, he could go straight to Hogsmeade Station tomorrow morning.
"How convenient!" Hermione's eyes lit up as she looked at the small bag.
Her luggage was the most numerous and heaviest among them, and most of it was books. Even with magic, it was still very difficult to move.
If she had one of these bags, she wouldn't need to drag a big suitcase everywhere she goes, saving her a lot of time and effort.
"They sell them in Diagon Alley, it's a simplified version. Although it's not very spacious, it can still fit a suitcase," Celen said. "More importantly, the price isn't expensive, only five gallons."
"Five Galleons isn't expensive at all," Hermione nodded. Having studied at Hogwarts for so long, she had saved up some pocket money, which was just enough to afford it.
"Where is that shop you mentioned?"
"Madame Parkin's Magical Items Shop," Siron said, "located at the intersection of Knockturn Alley and Diagon Alley, the second shop towards Gringotts."
"Mrs. Perkins?" Harry blinked curiously. "Her and Mrs. Malkin from the Robes Shop—"
"It has nothing to do with it," Xilun said directly. "It's just that the names are similar."
"Wait, you lot," Ron quickly interrupted them. "Aren't we discussing Malfoy right now?"
"And Harry, I have a feeling his plan might be aimed at you. You'd better be careful. If any professor calls you somewhere, you absolutely mustn't go!"
"Ah—probably not—" Harry whispered.
"I think Ron has a point," Hermione said after thinking for a moment. "Don't forget, you almost killed Malfoy not long ago—with that 'Sleight of Hand' spell."
At this point, she suddenly got angry.
"Are you really not going to throw that book away? It—"
"Oh, please, Hermione, can we not talk about this?" Harry said helplessly. "It really is just a textbook with notes written in it by older students, and there's nothing in it that implies I should use this magic to kill anyone else."
Hermione got even angrier after hearing Harry's words.
"To write such a dangerous spell in a book is itself a form of suggestion—"
"How could that be? You're just overthinking it."
The two men's voices grew louder and louder.
Xiren, standing to the side, was already used to this situation, as they had always done it this way.
They're fine most of the time, but they start arguing whenever the Half-Blood Prince's "Advanced Potion Making" comes up.
Fortunately, at that moment, Ginny slipped through the passageway into the common room and walked towards them.
"Harry!" she waved, "Headmaster Dumbledore wants you to—"
"Oh—" Before she could finish speaking, Ron's expression changed instantly.
"See what I told you?" He turned to Harry, "You absolutely mustn't go. It might be another of Malfoy's tricks."
"What are you talking about?" Ginny walked over. "What Malfoy? I'm talking about Headmaster Dumbledore."
-
"That's right, exactly." Ron nodded firmly, with an expression that seemed to know everything.
"It must have been Malfoy, or some other Slytherin student, who told you that Headmaster Dumbledore wanted to see Harry and asked you to inform him, right?"
"But actually, this is a trap. Malfoy might have already set a trap outside the headmaster's office, so that Harry would be killed by dark magic the moment he knocks!"
"What nonsense!" Ginny glanced at Ron with a hint of disdain, as if she were looking at the ghoul in the Burrow who was up in the attic banging on the pipes in the middle of the night.
"It was Headmaster Dumbledore who told me personally, and it has nothing to do with Malfoy. Also, I misspoke earlier; Headmaster Dumbledore sent Shillen to his office."
"Then why are you named Harry—"
"My mother asked me in the letter to tell Harry that she would be going to King's Cross Station with the Auror tomorrow. If Harry got off the train and didn't see anyone, he should wait for a while and not leave the station on his own."
"What?" Ron was taken aback. "Why doesn't Mom write to me?"
"You should think about whether you've ever written a letter to your mother."
"Of course I have! I just wrote it before Easter!" Ron said.
"Hehehe————" Ginny gave a cold laugh, looking even more disgusted.
"Excuse me for interrupting," Xiren stood up. "Did the principal say what the password is for today?"
"It's Bertie Bott's Every Flavor Beans," Ginny said.
"I understand, thank you," Xilen said, and then prepared to walk outside.
"Wait, Siren, you still dare to go?!" Ron quickly grabbed him.
Harry and Hermione, who were standing next to him, also looked nervous.
It's no wonder they acted this way; the scene was just too familiar. A classmate relayed a message to the professor's office—it was exactly the same as yesterday.
"Don't worry, I think there won't be any problems this time," Celen said. "And most importantly, the principal's office doesn't have a door."
Actually, the principal's office does have a door, a very sturdy oak door, but there's a wall and a gargoyle stone beast on the outside of the door.
If Malfoy can overcome these two hurdles and place the dark magic item on the headmaster's office door, then even if it's a trap, Celeste will accept it.
Fortunately, Malfoy didn't have that ability.
-
When Sirius pushed open the door to the headmaster's office, only Dumbledore and Snape, who was standing beside him holding a bottle, were inside.
They seemed to have had a very heated argument, because Siren noticed that Snape's face was flushed and his chest was heaving.
Dumbledore, however, was much calmer. When he saw Siren enter from outside, he immediately stood up with a smile and said, "Siren, I hope I haven't disturbed your conversation with your friend."
"Of course not, Professor," said Sirius, glancing at Snape and the bottle he was holding, and immediately understanding why Dumbledore had brought him here.
"As you can see, Severus has just brewed the potion," Dumbledore said with a smile. "I think it's time—"
"Dumbledore, are you sure you want to do this?!" Snape demanded loudly. Judging from his expression, he seemed to have more to say, but for some reason, he didn't want Siren to know.
"Yes, Severus," Dumbledore nodded calmly. "I'm quite certain."
