Chapter 71 Coulson: I want to kill myself!
Vega warns Baron Strucker not to cause trouble and sends Scarlet Witch, Wanda, and the other two to the zombie world. Vega, carrying a limp Loki, finds Sif and watches as she summons the Rainbow Bridge to send Loki back to Asgard.
When he got home, Phil Coulson was still there, and he obediently didn't contact anyone.
Upon seeing Vega return, he immediately asked, "Lee, how did it go?"
Vega: "Trouble is solved. The man behind those two was Loki. I captured him and handed him over to Sif, who then sent him back to Asgard to be imprisoned."
Phil Coulson was overjoyed: "Loki's been captured!"
Loki had been hiding in the shadows, and countless people had lived in fear. Now everyone could finally get a good night's sleep.
"Isn't it a bit inappropriate for you to send Loki to Asgard without my permission?" Phil Coulson kindly reminded him.
He knew that humans could not judge Loki, and many people were aware of this as well. However, Vega's decision to hand Loki over to Asgard without authorization would upset many people, and even the arrogant, ignorant, and those with ulterior motives would use this as an excuse to condemn and question Vega.
"Heh, don't worry about them." Vega was aware of this as well, but Hydra couldn't be exposed in the current situation, otherwise, if things got chaotic on the human side, how would they deal with the crisis of the overlapping nine realms?
"Okay, good that you're prepared." Seeing that Vega understood, Phil Coulson didn't say anything more. He then asked, "What about the other two?"
Vega: "Those two aren't inherently bad; they're just temporarily blinded by misplaced hatred. I've asked a friend to discipline them for now."
Next, Vega briefly recounted the experience of Wanda and her husband, who were children at the time, guarding an unexploded missile amidst the ruins during the war in Sokovia.
Phil Coulson sighed, "Why does every superhuman have to have a tragic past?"
Vega remained indifferent, for this was the price to pay for power.
After his initial exclamation, Phil Coulson hesitated for a moment, then asked seriously, "Lee, things aren't that simple, are they? Where has Loki been hiding all this time? Has he done anything else?"
He's not stupid. If it only concerned Loki, Vega wouldn't have stopped him from notifying anyone.
Director Nick Fury and the top officials of the five superpowers all have mind-protecting amulets, telling them that the information will not be leaked, and even if it is leaked, Loki can't cause much trouble if he only has those two superhuman subordinates.
Vega frowned. "Coulson, can't you just be a fool for once?"
Phil Coulson: "I can't report to the director and the top officials of the five major powers without figuring this out."
Vega: "Knowing too much can kill you."
Phil Coulson smiled and said, "I'm more worried about having my pay docked."
Vega: "Okay, hopefully you'll still think that way after hearing this."
Since Phil Coulson insists on asking, Vega will grant his request.
Vega revealed all the information he knew about Hydra, including that Hydra's higher-ups already knew he was aware of their existence. Then, Vega watched with a smile as Phil Coulson began to perform a traditional Eastern act—face-changing.
After a long silence, Phil Coulson finally calmed down. His face was deathly pale, and he asked in a trembling voice, "Lee, is it true? Hydra really infiltrated S.H.I.E.L.D.? Secretary Pierce is really, really also a Hydra agent?"
Vega: "It's true that S.H.I.E.L.D. has been infiltrated by Hydra. This is your own doing, you can't blame anyone else."
Whether Alexander Pierce is the leader of Hydra within S.H.I.E.L.D., I cannot confirm. Different worlds exist, and you will need to investigate the truth yourselves.
"Investigate? Ha! How can I investigate? I might die unexpectedly if I leave here." Phil Coulson smiled bitterly. He really wanted to beat up his past self from a few minutes ago. Vega had warned him, so why did he ignore the warning and insist on asking questions?
Vega: "This is your own choice, it has nothing to do with me."
Phil Coulson: "Lee, did you already know about Hydra?"
He knew why Hydra wasn't being exposed now, but he just couldn't understand why Vega had exposed them all these years ago.
Vega: "They didn't provoke me, why should I expose them? You know, I hate trouble the most."
Phil Coulson: "This is Hydra! They've always wanted to rule the world!"
Vega: "Who doesn't want to rule the world? Doesn't America? Doesn't Britain? Doesn't that control-obsessed Nick Fury have this idea?"
"Ah, there are indeed universes where Hydra rules the Earth, but in this world, they can only dream about it."
"Moreover, whether it's Hydra or you, in my view there is no difference; it's just that the ideologies and the interest groups you represent are different."
I am an outsider, and my consistent stance has been to not interfere in your internal struggles. Isn't that what you wanted to see?
"So this is..." Phil Coulson wanted to say that Vega was making excuses, but he couldn't continue when he saw Vega's calm expression.
Vega is right. The government leadership does not want a powerful superhuman like Vega to interfere in politics, because that would cost them power and could potentially create an unchecked dictator over humanity.
"Alright, you know what you need to know. You should figure out how to leave." Vega said, raising his hand to open a Spark Portal, which led to Nick Fury's office.
Joking aside, Vega wouldn't let Phil Coulson be silenced the moment he stepped outside.
As for whether he will be assassinated in the future, Vega doesn't care.
How to deal with Hydra is Nick Fury's business; he's very busy.
"Here's a little help for you: Captain America's old flame Bucky Barnes is still alive. He was brainwashed and controlled by Hydra and turned into the legendary Winter Soldier. He's the one who killed Howard Stark and his wife."
"Also, Arnim Zola isn't truly dead. With Howard Stark's help, he uploaded his thoughts and all his memories to a supercomputer. He's now a kind of artificial intelligence, and the entire internet is completely defenseless against him." Having said that, ignoring the bewildered Nick Fury and the horrified Phil Coulson, Vega closed the portal.
After finishing his chores, Vega left the study and headed towards the living room.
This period is not suitable for any turmoil. I hope you two can work together to get through this crisis. I don't care if you fight like dogs, but if you cause me trouble and increase my workload, I'll plant you all in the ground as fertilizer!
