Chapter 10: Adventurers

Chapter 10: Adventurers

"How was it? Flying was fun, wasn't it?"

"Ugh... I'm going to vomit!"

Seeing Loki squatting by the roadside vomiting, Cinderella shrugged.

It seems a bit too stimulating for a child like Luo Qixi.

"I'm...I'm sorry, teacher..." Luo Qixi said softly, wiping her mouth and tears streaming down her face.

"It's alright." Catherine shook her head generously. "Just don't throw up in my room when you get back."

"Ugh... I'm going to vomit!"

Well... it seems a bit difficult... maybe we should just put it downstairs for Loki... Sidlin shrugged again, looking at the girl who seemed to be vomiting again because of her words.

After a few minutes' delay, Loki finally came to her senses. She looked at Cinderella sitting on a snow-covered log by the roadside and said, "Teacher... I'm sorry..."

"It's okay, it's okay." This time, Cinderella decided not to upset Loki again, lest she start vomiting again.

She coughed, took the document from her bosom, shook it, and handed it to Luo Qixi.

"From now on, I will not say a word."

"You'll be responsible for all the details of this assignment." She patted Luo Qixi on the shoulder. "I have faith in you."

"Ah... okay, teacher." Although she had taken many risks in the past, Luo Qixi still felt a little nervous, not only because she hadn't taken any risks for a while, but also because this was the first time she was going to have a real battle in front of her teacher.

Taking a deep breath, Loki began to read the quest, which required her to kill five Rasta Bears and retrieve their tails...

Luckily, Rasta Bear knew what it was... otherwise, it would have been dangerous not even to know where to begin searching...

Seeing Loki's analytical manner, Cinderella blinked in surprise. She hadn't investigated Loki's past before... She seemed quite professional... Had she been an adventurer before?

Is being an adventurer a trend in this world?

Cinderella was, of course, an adventurer... but she changed jobs after she found that being an adventurer required interacting with a lot of people... after all, she didn't really enjoy interacting with people.

However, being an adventurer was quite interesting... Now that Cinderella thinks about it, many of the people she knew were people she met when she was an adventurer.

For example, Edward...

I never imagined he'd be practically king now... I wonder how things are going in the Kingdom of Lanoa...

While Catherine was lost in thought, Loki had already started moving with the commission, bending down and searching through the snowdrifts.

Soon, she found something important under a tree.

This is Rasta bear droppings...and it's very fresh...it hasn't solidified even in winter.

Loki nodded slightly. It seemed they hadn't gone very far... And so it was. If you looked closely, you would find that their footprints hadn't been completely covered yet; you could vaguely see some footprints on the snow.

Very skilled… Sidlin nodded approvingly. It seemed she knew more than just how adventurers should handle commissions… To save time, she had even specifically chosen a spot close to the bears.

It seems like this might have been unnecessary?

Following behind Loki, Cinderella kept observing her behavior.

After the initial tension, Luo Qixi became more at ease, and gradually she also felt a little nostalgic, as she had not had this kind of adventure since arriving at Lanoa University.

Most of the time, she dealt with requests like finding lost cats or repairing warehouses. After all, the magic academy had no shortage of magicians, and magicians all knew that being an adventurer could earn money. Moreover, the people who made requests in the Adventurers' Guild preferred their own kind to demons...

Soon, following the snow tracks, she felt herself getting closer and closer to the bears.

"call."

She slowed her breathing and lowered her voice... Although taking down five Rasta Bears at once was difficult... she felt she could manage to kill one or two...

It should be okay...

Through the snow, she could vaguely see shadows in the distance... It was definitely the Rasta bears; they seemed to be huddling together for warmth... After all, it was a winter night, so that made sense...

Lokishi slightly raised her staff, aiming it at the largest and most dangerous Rasta bear, then whispered, "Great water spirit, son of the Thunder Emperor ascending to the heavens, strike it down with your valiant ice sword..."

As Lokishi chanted, an ice spear slowly condensed in front of her staff. This was the superior water magic Frost Strike, and it was also the most powerful ice magic Lokishi currently possessed. She believed that with it, she should be able to pierce through Rasta Bear's defenses.

However... this is all assuming nothing unexpected happens.

And if Cinderella's prediction holds true, an accident is about to happen.

"Buzz!"

Just as Loki was chanting, a loud bang was heard, and then four figures suddenly sprang out from around the group of Rasta bears.

The leader was a handsome young man with short, light brown hair. He held a long sword and plunged it into the back of a Rasta bear.

Following closely behind was an elf wielding a sword and shield. She blocked a Rasta bear's counterattack and then swung her longsword, leaving a wound on its chest.

Finally, a dwarf wielding a large axe followed, his battle axe striking a Rasta bear so hard it let out a scream.

In the blink of an eye, most of the Rasta bears were killed, and the few remaining Rasta bears were naturally no match for these experienced adventurers.

While Loki was still stunned, the Rasta bears were killed one by one.

"Well done, Tarhand, Alice Liz..." The handsome young man at the head of the group gave the other two a high five, then looked somewhat helplessly at the beast-eared woman standing not far away who hadn't moved.

"Gileno, why didn't you do anything... it was so dangerous just now."

"Paul... there are people over there." The woman called Gillenor gripped the hilt of her katana and stared intently at Loki and Cinderella not far away.

"Ah... are they other adventurers?" Seeing Loki and Cinderella, Paul raised an eyebrow and said, "Sorry, they were our prey first."

"It was... I saw it first!" Luo Qixi said, holding up her staff in dissatisfaction. Even though there were many of them, she wasn't afraid at all.

"Huh?" Paul scratched his head instinctively, seemingly recognizing Loki's appearance. "There are adventurers this young?"

"Hey, little girl, this place is very dangerous..."

"I (she) am not a child!" Lokishi and the elf known as Alina Lige spoke at the same time.

"I am...I am a demon!" Loki gripped her staff tightly in displeasure. "And I've been tracking them for a long time!"

No wonder she was excited. This was her first real battle in front of her teacher, and it was over before the battle even started. Not only that, but her prey was also stolen... No one would be happy about that!

What's more... when Loki saw the boy named Paul's hand on the elf's waist, her dissatisfaction intensified. Can't you be a little more serious when you're talking to someone? You're clearly the one who's a child!

"This is getting a bit troublesome." Paul didn't notice Loki's displeasure at all; he turned his head slightly to look at the other team members.

"No matter what... let's sit down and talk first." Paul nodded slightly at Tarhand's words.

He raised his sword and waved it at Loki, who was not far away: "Let's sit down and talk, Miss Mage."
