Chapter 44 Amusement Park
Chapter 44 Amusement Park
"It seems that something happened just now that caused Liu Runyu to have negative emotions."
Su Zixu wasn't particularly surprised by what had just happened; he had guessed it would happen, but he hadn't expected it to be so quick.
Stepping into the amusement park again, everything around me was playing out the same story as the first time.
This time, Su Zixu's observations were even more detailed.
His attention was also focused on things that might trigger negative emotions.
For example, if the person throwing the dart accidentally misses and the dart hits the proprietress on the head, the two will have a minor argument.
For example, clowns at the entrance of a circus might scare children.
After observing everything, Su Zixu finally focused his attention on the haunted house.
I quickly stepped forward to buy a ticket and enter. The set design and the interaction with the live NPCs weren't quite enough for horror fans.
Just as Su Zixu was passing through a room filled with corpses, preparing to head to the morgue in the haunted house, the familiar feeling returned.
When he came to his senses, he was standing at the entrance of the amusement park again.
Su Zixu frowned slightly, but unlike the previous two times, this time he did not rush into the amusement park. Instead, he first observed the crowd entering the amusement park.
"Perhaps, in the beginning, the cause of this matter was not the ride itself."
Su Zixu carefully observed the people coming and going, and finally focused his attention on four middle school students.
For no other reason than that Su Zixu felt these four children were probably unruly brats.
After locking onto their target, Su Zixu strolled after them.
After riding the roller coaster, the four children suggested they buy drinks.
Su Zixu looked at their expressions as they discussed something, as if they were plotting something.
He continued to keep his distance from the four children and followed them to a street stall.
Su Zixu had seen the stall owner twice before, but he didn't think it was important and didn't pay attention to it.
This was the first time Su Zixu had ever looked at someone so intently. But as he looked, his eyes slowly widened.
The stall owner was a woman in her early fifties. She was slightly hunched over, wearing a red short-brimmed hat and a beige casual outfit.
A few strands of coarse gray hair peeked out from under the brim of her hat; the woman's skin was rough, and she looked like a weary person.
Although my face has developed many wrinkles and my skin is no longer firm.
But there's no mistaking her; the woman in front of him is definitely Liu Runyu's mother.
At the same time, the four children arrived at the stall. Seeing this, Su Zixu pretended to want to buy water and stood behind the four children.
"You know, she's Liu Runyu's mother."
A slightly overweight boy turned to the side and whispered to his companion, glancing at the woman with a wicked smile as he spoke.
The boy was well-dressed, but his smile was slightly lewd, and the flesh on his face trembled when he laughed.
Seeing that the woman did not stop him, the boy became even more brazen and began to spread some offensive rumors to his companions.
Out of good manners, the woman did not want to argue with the child, so she silently lowered her head and did not say a word.
Su Zixu could not tolerate this. He stepped forward, grabbed the boy's ear with one hand, and pulled it upwards forcefully, cursing:
"Since your dear mother won't teach you how to be a person, then I'll be your father today."
After saying that, she slapped the boy across the face.
The boy's face flushed red, and a curse was about to come out.
"I......"
Before the boy could even finish his swearing, a sharp "slap" rang out, and another handprint appeared on his other cheek.
The chubby boy's arrogance vanished instantly. He covered his face with one hand, made an international friendly gesture to Su Zixu with the other, and then slowly backed away.
"You just wait! I'm going home and telling my dad, and he'll deal with you!"
After the boy pulled his companion away, he turned back and threatened them.
Upon seeing Su Zixu raise his hand to slap them, the four mischievous children ran away without looking back.
"Here, I didn't bring much change, please take this. They didn't pay earlier, how can you not ask them for it?"
As Su Zixu spoke, he took out a handful of loose change from his pocket and placed it on the freezer covered with a blanket.
"Sigh... I can afford to offend the kids, but I can't afford to offend their parents. It's just a few drinks. I just hope they don't bully my son at school."
The woman's tone was low, but she seemed to have become accustomed to the coldness of the world and had no intention of resisting.
"Thank you, young man. Take this; I hope it will protect you." The woman took out a red amulet from her pocket and handed it to Su Zixu.
Thank you, please take care.
Upon touching the amulet, Su Zixu sensed something amiss, and his hand, which was covering the amulet, paused for a moment.
"When negative emotions arise, the fragmented soul will appear near the object it is attached to." This sentence echoed in Su Zixu's mind.
He turned his head to look at the small, dilapidated shack behind the stall, and then slowly walked inside.
Sunlight streamed through the crack in the open door, illuminating the cramped little house.
"Liu Runyu," Su Zixu called softly.
The boy's eyes were red and swollen, and he was wearing a faded yellow middle school uniform. He was hugging his legs tightly and burying his head in his knees.
Hearing someone call his name, the boy stiffly turned his face to the side, his pupils slightly constricted by the direct sunlight.
"Who are you?" he asked, his voice choked with emotion.
"It's time to go." Su Zixu didn't say much, but simply reached out a hand to the boy.
After a moment of stunned silence, the boy didn't say anything more, but simply grasped the hand that was being extended to him.
The moment the two turned around, light and shadow intertwined, the amusement park in front of them began to shrink, and a feeling of dizziness followed.
When Su Zixu came to his senses, he was already in an old apartment.
The apartment is not large, and because it is in an older neighborhood, the natural light is not very good.
The white-painted walls have turned yellowish, and many areas are covered with children's graffiti.
There was no one in the house. There was a sticky note on the table: "Runyu, Mom will be closing up shop a little later tonight. Lunch is in the fridge. Heat it up if you get hungry. Love you."
After passing through the living room, at the end are two bedrooms facing each other, with a bathroom between them.
"The toilet faces the front door, which isn't good," Su Zixu complained, before heading to the room on the left.
The room was simply furnished. Next to a small wooden table covered with a glass panel was a single bed, clearly for a child.
The sheets were a little pilled, but they were washed very clean.
There was nothing on the right besides a wooden wardrobe.
"Brother Zixu, you're here!" A childish voice rang out behind Su Zixu. "Have you found the first me?"
Su Zixu turned around and looked at the smiling child in front of him.
"He has already gone back," Su Zixu said calmly.
"Then hurry up and take me away, so you don't have to wonder what I'm afraid of at home." The boy took Su Zixu's hand and walked towards the door.
