The Lordaeron soldiers around him nodded in agreement, their eyes filled with disgust and fear as they looked at the mass of flesh. The fact that a necromancer could be resurrected was a truly terrifying thing.
Arthas nodded in agreement with Rhodes's statement.
"Thank you for your reminder, Your Excellency Rhodes. You are right. I must eliminate any future troubles."
Burn it! Burn it completely! Burn it down, along with this contaminated barn! We cannot allow any trace of the source of the plague to remain!
Arthas abruptly waved his hand and ordered the soldiers, "Soldiers, gather the wood! Sprinkle the oil! Now! Immediately!"
"Don't even spare his ashes. After you burn him, scatter the ashes directly into the water to feed the fish." Rhodes was determined to grind his bones to dust.
"You despicable scoundrel! Rhodes, I'll remember you! I'll kill you!" Kel'Thuzad's spirit immediately commanded some of the cave-dwelling demons lurking nearby to take action.
Just as several soldiers bent down to clean up the disgusting pile of flesh and blood, the seemingly solid ground next to them suddenly exploded!
Soil and gravel shot upwards like a fountain, and a gigantic spider undead (a cave demon) with a massive body and a carapace shimmering with a dark luster suddenly burst out of the ground!
Its ferocious mouth let out a piercing hiss, and its movements were as fast as lightning. With a precise thrust of its thick forelimbs, a sticky, extremely tough white spider web was instantly sprayed out, accurately wrapping up Kel'Thuzad's pile of mangled "remains" along with the fragments of clothing, and then rolling it up like a garbage bag!
"Stop it!" Arthas reacted the fastest, roaring as the power of Menethil in his hand, carrying a howling holy light, slammed into the monster.
Jaina's Frostbolt was fired almost simultaneously, its chilling force aimed directly at the Crypt Fiend's head.
However, the cave demon was exceptionally cunning; its primary objective seemed to be to steal corpses rather than to fight.
Its massive body displayed astonishing agility; the moment the spider web ensnared the corpse, its entire body sank downwards like an eel!
boom!
Arthas' warhammer crashed into the ground where it had just disappeared, leaving only a large crater and flying dirt.
Jaina's Frostbolt grazed the edge of its shell as it finally sank into the ground, freezing a small patch of frost on the ground, but failing to harm it in the slightest.
"Damn it! What is this monster?" Arthas stomped his foot angrily as he looked at the ground rapidly closing up, leaving only a deep, dark hole.
Holy light rippled violently around him, indicating that his inner rage was almost overwhelming his reason.
"This, this monster, it...it stole the corpse!" a soldier cried out, his face filled with terror.
They watched as the remains of the evil sorcerer were dragged into the dark underground. What on earth was that terrifying spider, bigger than a horse?
Arthas is now almost certain that what Rhodes said earlier has come true; otherwise, there would have been no reason for that spider-like undead creature to steal Kel'Thuzad's corpse.
Just as I predicted! Kel'Thuzad's body was stolen.
Rhodes looked at the burrow that was still emitting smoke and dust. His earlier suggestion of "crushing bones to ashes" was not only to disgust Kel'Thuzad, but also a test to see if the other party had any backup plans.
Now the countermeasure has come and succeeded. It seems that the Burning Legion and the Lich King have been watching this operation closely. Rhodes understands that he cannot make too many changes.
I can't stay near Arthas for too long, otherwise I might get targeted by these guys, or rather, I might already be targeted.
"We must give chase! We absolutely cannot let this bastard harm my people again. I must annihilate him completely!" Arthas wanted to give chase, but it was too late.
The cave-dwelling demon successfully burrowed underground, and no one could pinpoint its exact location, ultimately forcing the pursuit to come to an end.
Arthas angrily swung his warhammer to clear away the undead creatures around him, until the last undead creature was eliminated.
Rhodes' hero system also issued a system notification.
A resounding victory! Rhodes gained over 1300 experience points, which, combined with the 200+ points he had previously earned, brought his total to over 1500 experience points, allowing him to successfully level up to level 2.
After leveling up to level 2, Rhodes will gain one attribute point, and the system is very user-friendly, allowing him to choose. After thinking for a moment, Rhodes chose to add this precious attribute point to Knowledge, bringing his magic points to 30. After using the Blessing of Wisdom, he can reach 35 points.
In addition to the attribute points from the upgrade, Rhodes also received a skill upgrade bonus. He can choose to upgrade either Eagle Eye or a new skill, Basic Earth Magic.
Without any hesitation, Rhodes immediately clicked on the basic earth attribute magic.
In the world of Azeroth, Rhodes will prioritize the spells of Wisdom and the four magic schools.
Summoning, Eagle Eye, and these 5 skills make a total of 7 skills. Rhode plans to look into the last skill to see what suitable special abilities are available.
After the battle ended, Rhodes' necromancy was successfully triggered, eliminating more than 700 undead in total. Rhodes' necromancy summoned more than 100 skeleton soldiers.
These skeleton soldiers all appeared within the hero formation, unnoticed by anyone.
Chapter 15 Undead Infiltrator, Plan to Get Sylvanas for Free
This time, Rhodes' Eagle Eye technique also stole two spells: the mage's Ice Lance spell and Arcane Shield.
Both spells are very practical; Ice Lance can be used in conjunction with Frostbolt for repeated attacks.
Arcane Shield grants armor to the caster. Ice Lance can be cast five times per point of mana, while Arcane Shield can be cast twice per point of mana, forming an arcane energy shield on the body's surface to defend against and absorb some damage.
Both spells benefit from hero power bonuses, increasing shield duration and defense, and also boosting the damage of Ice Lance.
Ice Lance can benefit from the bonuses of water magic: the basic level increases its power by 10%, the intermediate level by 25%, and the advanced level by 50%.
Arcane Shield is counted as an air spell, and its bonus is the same as Ice Lance, which is 50% for advanced air spells.
“Lord Rhodes, Gina, we must hurry to Hearthglen and stop these infected grains from reaching Stratholme,” Arthas said, turning to them.
"You're right, Your Highness."
"Without further delay, let's go."
Everyone nodded in agreement and, led by Arthas, quickly headed towards Hearthglen, while Rhodes took the opportunity to examine his spoils.
Rhodes's skeleton army now numbers over 170, a truly terrifying number. That's how the Undead army works; it grows larger and larger as the war progresses.
Skeleton horde tactics! Brother, have you ever heard of the Necropolis skeletons' one-hit kill? I don't care what you are, I'll just chop you all down with one strike!
Even a basic summoning spell has this power. Once you activate the spirit tower and upgrade the summoning spell to an advanced level, you can basically summon 40-50% of the fallen units into skeletons in every battle.
Skeleton Warriors cannot be upgraded at the moment; the number of skeletons must be maintained.
In Heroes of Might and Magic III, experienced players will not upgrade their Skeleton Warriors, but will instead keep their Skeleton Soldiers.
Some newbies might wonder, why don't you bring Skeleton Warrior?
If you use the Summoning spell on a Skeleton Warrior, it will automatically upgrade you to a Skeleton Warrior for free. Skeleton Soldiers don't upgrade and can't beat Skeleton Warriors!
The reason is simple: when enemy troops are killed, they summon skeletons for you based on the number of enemies and their remaining health.
After upgrading to Advanced Summoning, 30% of fallen units will be turned into skeletons. Adding the Summoning Tower will increase this to 40%. If you have other Summoning bonus items, this number will be even higher.
For example, if you kill 1000 spearmen, with the bonus from advanced Necromancy and the Necromancy Tower, you can obtain 400 skeletons.
This is because spearmen have more health than skeletons, so you can summon almost a full army. However, if you are killing smaller monsters with less health than skeletons, you won't be able to summon 400; you'll only get around 300 at most, and so on.
However, if your team consists entirely of skeleton warriors, then when you summon them, you will inexplicably lose 1/3 of the skeletons.
For example, killing 1000 spearmen would normally yield 400 skeletons, but if you bring skeleton warriors, you might only summon less than 300 skeleton warriors.
100 skeletons just disappeared out of nowhere. (Fun fact: you'll also summon skeletons when you kill undead in the wild, even if you kill a bone dragon, each bone dragon will summon a skeleton soldier. Amazing, right?)
Therefore, veteran Heroes of Might and Magic players would never upgrade skeletons to skeleton warriors during the early stages of the game or when engaging in open-world battles.
The upgrade will only occur during the final battle against the computer, after which you will return and transform all the skeleton soldiers into skeleton warriors for the final battle.
If needed in the early stages, the skeleton warrior will be sent back home to stay in the city, and then the summoning spell will be used to summon skeleton soldiers to fight.
This necromancy also applies to zombies, spirits, vampires, and liches.
If you have the Ghost King's Cloak, then when your army of lich witches is formed, it will be virtually invincible, and even the Holy Dragon will be no match for it.
What a pity! Now that I'm human, it's really difficult to take these undead troops out under normal circumstances.
But if you were to ask Rhodes to transform into an undead creature, Rhodes would refuse. "I haven't lived enough yet! I still want to use my exploration stick to explore the caves!"
However, since his own heroes can go out on their own, Rhodes is considering sending his undead heroes, such as Qiang Ge, to the undead forces as undercover agents in the future!
Explore the necromancy and undead modification techniques of the world of Azeroth, and see if they can enhance your heroes or units.
With Qiang Ge's raw strength, the attack and defense attribute bonuses of heroes, plus group magic and the special zombie army bonus, he can definitely rise to a high position.
However, the Lich King's forces are absolutely not to be allied with, because due to the Crown of Domination, all undead will be unconditionally controlled by the Lich King and have no freedom whatsoever.
Even memories will be unconditionally opened to the Lich King, and the soul will be forever enslaved by him.
If Qiang Ge went to join the Lich King as a wild undead, he would not gain the Lich King's trust at all.
Instead, he might use special methods to control you, and you might even expose your secrets, so this is not advisable.
Therefore, the only undead faction one can join is the Forsaken.
When Illidan attacks the Lich King's Frozen Throne and many undead are freed, Scythek can then join Sylvanas as a freed undead.
After witnessing Qiang Ge's overpowered abilities, Xi Queen will surely accept it gladly.
When the time comes, I'll join the Alliance, and the Undead hero will join the Horde.
Although some of the Forsaken are reduced to skeletons, a large number of them are actually in a zombie state. These Forsaken might even receive the zombie special skill bonus from Brother Qiang.
Furthermore, the Forsaken faction can modify skeletons and zombies, and Rhodes greatly admires the Queen's Royal Terror Guard.
Moreover, the Queen is very skilled at playing with banshees, and the wraiths can also be modified by the Queen.
As for zombies, Undercity has many Abominations, and the Queen can help them evolve into Abominations.
As for vampires, that's out of the question for now! Rhodes doesn't have many ideas yet; he can't exactly imitate the Dreadlord, can he?
The future upgrade path for the Dread Knight will definitely be Death Knight. We can work on it when the Knights of the Ebon Blade defect from the Lich King.
As for bone dragons, frost dragons are a good development direction. Only the Scourge has them, so we need to think of a way to develop them.
In the future, I can get some free loot from Arthas or Naxxramas in Kel'Thuzad.
Chapter 16 The Hollow Tragedy, the Undead Plague
After a full day's journey, the outline of Hearthglen emerged in the somber twilight.
Arthas, Rhodes, Jaina, and a few others, leading a hundred elite troops, finally arrived at Hearthglen.
"Great, we've finally arrived in Hearthglen. We can finally get some rest." Jaina looked relaxed.
This mission had kept her on edge the whole time, with a series of major battles, camping in the wild, and not even a single shower. She wanted to go to Hearthglen for a good rest.
A mysterious smile appeared on Rhodes's lips. "You won't get any rest, will you, mage?"
The sharp-eyed Arthas immediately noticed that something was wrong. A sergeant was training the militia, and some of the surrounding residents looked terrified, their faces ashen.
"They seem to be training. What's going on here?" Arthas asked, frowning as he approached the door.
Upon seeing Arthas, the garrison officer in the distance immediately rushed over as if he had seen a savior and saluted the prince.
