Chapter 66 Preparing to Purchase Skills
Chapter 66 Preparing to Purchase Skills
Minos shook his head, his face serious, and said, "Kaido, you wouldn't understand what I'm about to do."
After Minos said this, the atmosphere seemed to quiet down considerably.
"Haha, Minos, you little rascal, you're something else. No one has ever been able to refuse me twice!" Kaido suddenly burst into laughter.
Before Minos could say anything more, Kaido said with a serious expression, "Minos, let's have one last fight! If you can handle it, then we'll stop fighting and have a big battle when you get to the New World!"
"Alright. Kaido, go ahead and do it!" Minos said solemnly, looking at the serious-looking Kaido.
Kaido's face was serious, and Minos certainly wouldn't mock him; he did everything in his power to show respect to Kaido.
"Minos, you'd better watch out." Kaido said, then pulled out a spiked club from somewhere.
The spiked club was swung forcefully in the air, and at the same time, streaks of red and black lightning appeared around it.
"Haha, Minos brat, did you see that?" This is called Conqueror's Haki Entanglement, which can only be cultivated by reaching a certain level of Conqueror's Haki.
Even at this point, Kaido still made sure to tell Minos how he trained the Overlord technique.
"As expected of Teacher Kai! One hit produces Ryuo, two hits produce Hachiman?"
Minos watched Kaido use the Binding Technique with a heavy heart. Minos's body was telling him that Kaido's move was dangerous and he couldn't take it head-on.
"Brother Tongzi, are you there?" Minos called out in his mind.
"Ding, my dear host, what's wrong? Why do you look so anxious?" the system teased, looking at the flustered Minos.
"Damn it, Master Minos? You're still laughing at me at a time like this? Your host is about to be seriously injured, why aren't you saving me?" Minos said helplessly.
"Ding, host, don't be afraid, just go straight for it, maybe you can even get yourself knocked out of the entanglement." The system joked again.
"Damn it, system. Stop joking at a time like this." Minos was speechless.
This damn system is unreliable; it always seems to cause trouble at critical moments.
Ding! Host, there's nothing I can do about it!
The system's tone was very rude, and Minos became increasingly angry as he listened, but there was nothing he could do about it.
All I can say is, this damn system is just like that, inherently masochistic. (◣_◢)
"Um, Master, how many kill points do I have right now?" Minos asked gently.
Minos asked the system in a polite tone, but unexpectedly received a retort.
Ding, can't you check it yourself?
Damn it, Minos was furious. This damn system was infuriating. He shouldn't have asked the system.
Minos took a deep breath, trying to calm himself down. He was afraid he wouldn't be able to resist the intense confrontation with the dog system.
Minos mentally opened the system panel and silently checked it.
[Host: Minos]
Age: 19
[Skills: Intermediate Armament Haki, Intermediate Observation Haki, Intermediate Conqueror's Haki, Water Stream Rock Smashing Fist (Normal Version), Navigator Techniques, Helmsman Techniques.]
[Physical Constitution: Peak of the Four Emperors]
[Item: One Supreme Grade Sword]
Kill Points: Points
[Realm: High-level General (Black Dragon Form: Peak of the Four Emperors)]
[Evaluation: You are already extremely powerful. As long as you don't encounter an enemy at the peak of the King level, you will not die.]
"Uh, that system? How come my kill points have increased so much!" Minos was initially delighted, then asked in confusion.
In Minos's memory, his kill count had always been lukewarm and hard to get, so how come he had so much this time?
Ding, is this too much? Not at all! This time, the system didn't criticize Minos, but said irritably.
"Uh, more than three times more! That's quite a lot," Minos said speechlessly.
Ding! Before renting the yacht, the host only had 5980 points. After renting the yacht, the host only had 4980 points.
"Uh, what about Rogue Town?" Minos asked, puzzled. How come there are so many all of a sudden?
Ding! During your battle with Smoker and others in Loguetown, the system has calculated that you have gained approximately 8000 kill points.
"Wow, there are so many!" Minos exclaimed in surprise.
"Ding! Of course, this system can't possibly make a mistake." The system said proudly.
Hearing the system's arrogant voice, Minos was speechless. It was hard to believe that the current system was the same one that had previously criticized him.
"Then, Lord Commander," Minos asked, puzzled, "where did the extra kill points come from?"
Ding! Host, you should have forgotten about your great battle with Kaido!
“You mean!” Minos exclaimed excitedly.
Ding, that's right, just as you thought, host.
Uh, so it turns out that his battle with Kaido led to the deaths of the townspeople in Loguetown, and the system indirectly attributed it to Minos.
"Uh, that system! Is this appropriate?" Minos's tone was questioning, but it was full of secret delight.
Ding, if the system says there's no problem, then there's no problem.
Uh, Minos was speechless as he listened to the system's grandiloquent words.
This damn system is bragging again, but Minos still has to join in the praise, which is just ridiculous. (◣_◢)
“Well, Master, as expected of you,” Minos praised.
Ding, keep it low-key.
"Well, Master, now that I have so many kill points, help me see what skills I can buy!" Minos's tone was full of excitement.
Ding, let me check.
"Alright, Master? Then please hurry, your host is in danger!" Minos's tone was gentle. (Don't think Minos is trying to please the system; this is just the usual communication pattern between the silly system and its silly host. (⌒▽⌒))
Ding, okay, okay.
Minos chuckled inwardly, thinking to himself that this damn system really fell for it.
Damn, to think that the mighty Lord Minos actually has to fawn over this damn system...
*Ding*, Host. The system shop has been updated. Simply enter.
Minos watched the system notification and felt quite pleased: "He's going to have a good time today and buy a few more skills, otherwise, just one Water Stream Rock Smash Fist will be really frustrating." (The audience will be dissatisfied too.)
[Ding, Basic Punch (Low-Tier Version): 4000 Kill Points.]
[Ding, Consecutive Normal Punches (Low-Tier Version): Increases Kill Points.]
[Ding! Pegasus Meteor Fist (Low-Tier Version): 4000 Kill Points.]
[Ding, all Six Styles of the Navy are at max level: Kill Points.]
[Ding, Wolf Fang Mad Fist: 4000 kill points.]
[Ding, Solar Fist: 2000 Kill Points.]
[Ding, Sword Master Inheritance (You will immediately become a Sword Master; you deserve it.): 4000 Kill Points.]
[Ding, Great Swordsman Inheritance (Requires Adaptation): Increase Kill Points.]
[Ding... Kill Points?]
"Master, this is far too much!" Minos said, sounding somewhat shocked.
Ding, normal. (If I weren't worried about readers saying it was filler, there would be much more. (⌒▽⌒))
Minos wanted all the skills in the system shop!
Whether it's a single punch or a series of punches, these are powerful skills. The Great Demon King conquered the world with his fist techniques.
Also, Minos really wants all of those Navy Six Styles at max level.
Minos also wanted the swordsman's legacy, and at this moment, Minos was caught in a dilemma.
I don't know how to choose. (⌒▽⌒)
