Chapter 69 The Avenger: Me? Fighting the Gods of Sakura Island?
Chapter 69 The Avenger: Me? Fighting the Gods of Sakura Island?
What is a beast?
Bertrand Russell pondered for a moment and gave his answer:
"The beast is a primordial demon, and like Mephisto, it was once a dimensional lord."
"But countless years ago, for some unknown reason, His dimension was devoured by lords of other dimensions, and He became a wandering demon god."
“What is the Primal Demon?” Nick Fury then asked.
Russell explained:
"Primal demons are extradimensional beings, natives of the hell dimension."
"They feed on the souls of the wicked or sinful."
"Are there many demons like this on Earth?" Nick Fury pressed.
"How did the beasts get onto Earth?" Tony asked in a deep voice.
Nick Fury and Tony's voices rang out one after the other, each asking a question.
Russell first answered Nick Fury, "I don't know."
As he spoke, Russell turned to Tony, his gaze pointed:
"Two hundred years ago, the Ancient One spearheaded the construction of three temples to protect Earth and sealed off this dimensional node."
"Ordinary dimensional life forms cannot enter Earth unless specifically summoned by someone."
Tony had a sudden inspiration: "So, when you say the matter on Sakura Island isn't over yet, you mean...?"
Russell nodded, somewhat displeased, and said, "That's right. After I've rested for a while, I'll make another trip to Sakura Island to find out who's behind this."
Judging from the speed at which the fire of the soul burns in the spiritual world, it would take one or two days to completely clear away the scarlet fog.
The thought of letting the gods of Sakura Island live for another day or two made Russell feel uneasy.
"The person behind it all?"
Tony raised an eyebrow: "Anyone capable of doing something like this must be an extraordinary individual. Who do you suspect?"
Russell smiled. "Is it possible that it's not human?"
Natasha interjected, "Russell, Tony, can you stop playing games? This is S.H.I.E.L.D., not Kamar-Taj."
Russell gave an awkward smile and explained, "The person behind it is most likely the Sakura Island pantheon."
"A pantheon? Russell, are you saying there are gods on Earth?" Coulson couldn't help but exclaim in surprise.
Russell nodded and opened his arms: "Of course, aren't I one?"
"Stop messing around, Russell," Coulson said helplessly.
He did not believe in the existence of gods, and naturally he did not believe that Russell was a god.
Although, in some ways Russell behaved like a god.
Tony echoed Russell:
"I have indeed seen records of various pantheons on Earth in the Kamar-Taj documents, including the Sakura Island pantheon."
According to the book, the Sakura Island pantheon has three main gods: Amaterasu Omikami, Tsukuyomi-no-Mikoto, and Takehashi Susanoo-no-Mikoto.
"The three respectively govern the sky, the underworld, and the sea, which is quite similar to ancient Greek mythology."
Russell added, "Coulson, didn't you see two gods when you went to Kamar-Taj the other day?"
Coulson: "?"
Russell's reminder:
"Thor and Loki."
"A tall, sunny, and cheerful young man, and a tall, thin, gloomy, and melancholic handsome young man."
"They are Thor, the god of thunder, and Loki, the god of mischief, from the Norse pantheon."
Coulson frowned, then suddenly realized:
"I remember now, it's the two of them."
"However, their temperament is quite different from what you described, Russell."
That's not the point.
Tony interrupted the two of them, asking with a serious expression.
"Russell, is our target the Sakura Island pantheon?"
The others also looked at Russell, their expressions grave.
Their opponents were figures from mythology, so they couldn't afford to be careless.
Russell slowly shook his head: "No."
The group felt a sudden sense of relief. Before they knew it, their backs were soaked with cold sweat.
What makes them so capable of playing in such a high-level game?
"It's not us, it's me."
Russell then stated the entire sentence.
After thinking for a moment, Russell added.
"If Tony wants to, he can come and join the fight."
"How well are you combining your battle armor and magic now?"
"If you coordinate well, apart from the three main gods, there are few in the Sakura Island pantheon who can rival you."
"Just be careful."
After all, he's a future member of the Mage Supreme Order, so it's good for him to get some exposure to mid-level games sooner rather than later.
Even if he dies in battle, Russell can be resurrected using the Time Stone.
"Russell, what do you mean by this?!"
The others were somewhat displeased upon hearing Russell's words.
Is this a disregard for their fighting strength?
Russell sighed inwardly.
Lies don't hurt, truth is the knife.
Look, Dr. Banner is just sitting there, completely unperturbed, showing no sign of being offended at all.
After a moment of silence, Russell chose to be more tactful: "This is a matter concerning Kamar-Taj, not a matter concerning S.H.I.E.L.D."
After hearing this, the expressions of the group improved.
Protecting the security of dimensions is Kamar-Taj's responsibility, not S.H.I.E.L.D.'s.
Russell's statement is not without merit.
Yeah, right!
It's not because they think the Avengers are bad.
"Russell, bring the Avengers into your fold. S.H.I.E.L.D. can help Kamar-Taj."
Nick Fury said seriously.
He went to great lengths to recruit the Avengers and form the Avengers Alliance, not just to be cute.
Besides, if you lack the strength, then follow Russell and pick up the scraps.
Pick up more of the technology products and materials that Russell didn't want...
We'll take it back to S.H.I.E.L.D. for research later.
Gene-based drugs and energy weapons—wouldn't that boost our combat power?
Russell glanced at Nick Fury with surprise.
I never expected you to be like this, Chief Fury.
At this point, Tony chimed in, "The Avengers are quite formidable, especially Dr. Banner. I'm sure they can be of great help."
"Hmm... okay." After a moment's hesitation, Russell agreed to the Avengers' request to curry favor.
Anyway, having a few more accessories on his thighs doesn't make any difference to him.
After thinking for a moment, Russell added:
"The time is set for two days... no, 48 hours later."
"In the next two days, you need to find a way to evacuate the people on Sakura Island."
"If a fight really breaks out, although the commotion won't be huge, there will still be some disturbance."
Nick Fury readily agreed: "Okay."
As scientists, Dr. Banner and Tony were quite meticulous and asked seriously:
"There was a slight disturbance, but how much is 'slight'?"
Russell casually remarked, "Don't worry, the Earth won't explode. At most, we'll just smash an island."
"Huh?! Are you serious, Russell? You call this a little bit?"
Russell retorted, "Otherwise what? When I fought the Beast in His dimension, I almost blew that dimension apart."
"Oh, I forgot to tell you, the dimensions of the beasts are about ten solar systems in size."
The beast's dimension nearly exploded because the beast deliberately detonated it, not because of the aftershocks of the battle between the two.
Russell deliberately exaggerated in order to give a heads-up.
He didn't want anyone to come and point fingers at him after the war.
Russell didn't tolerate this.
He's not good with words, but he's got a hard fist.
Everyone's expression changed; they had no idea whether Russell was telling the truth or not.
'Regardless of whether Russell's words are true or false, the combat power he demonstrated is indeed capable of sinking Sakura Island. We need to prepare early to avoid being blamed later.'
Nick Fury thought to himself.
If Sakura Island were really sunk, S.H.I.E.L.D. couldn't possibly take the blame for such a huge mistake.
