Chapter 177 Preparing for Exam Week
Chapter 177 Preparing for Exam Week
"Don't put too much pressure on yourself. If there's anything you don't understand or can't do, you can come to me. I can teach you anything, including dark magic." I whispered the last sentence into his ear. If Headmaster Dumbledore found out that I was teaching Harry dark magic, he would definitely come after me.
"Dark magic?" Harry was tickled by my breathing as I spoke in his ear, but he heard what I said clearly.
"Headmaster Dumbledore forbids young wizards at Hogwarts from learning Dark Arts. Only pure-blood Slytherin wizards are allowed access to Dark Arts, and most of it is highly destructive." Releasing Harry's hand, I'm not in a rush to win over the rest. I'll take it slow.
"Is it because dark magic is dangerous?" Harry, now freed, leaned against the table behind him and spoke to me.
"There's a small reason for that, but I think it depends on who's using it. If you let someone with no moral compass use dark magic, it'll definitely be completely dark. But if a kind person is forced to use a spell, is that also dark magic?" I think we need to teach Harry to judge. Brains are for using, not for decoration.
Harry stood there, lost in thought about what I had just said.
"Alright, let's go. You have plenty of time. Go back and eat first, or you won't have a hot meal later." It was still too much to ask of Harry in his current state.
"Um, Ayers, are you coming back with me?" Harry thought I needed to go back too.
"No, you can tell Fred and the others. I want to go back to my dorm first." I'm already full, so I don't plan to go back.
"Okay." Harry said goodbye and left.
"This savior is pretty easy to fool." After Harry left, the closed classroom door suddenly locked itself, and a vampire bat appeared in the shadows.
"Didn't I tell you not to appear in Hogwarts in this form? It'll be terrible if Headmaster Dumbledore finds out." I stretched out my right hand and made the vampire bat stay on it.
"I miss you, but it's not convenient for me to come see you right now, so I can only send a bat with me." The bat carried Riddle's voice.
"If you're busy, you don't need to come over. I'm fine here." I stroked the little bat's chin; it was so cute with its fluffy fur.
“I felt a little uneasy earlier, and I wondered if something was wrong with you, but I couldn’t leave, so I created a clone to check on you.” Riddle the bat rubbed its little head against my finger.
"It's nothing, I was just feeling a little unwell at the time, nothing serious happened." I put the little bat next to my face and rubbed it against my cheek. It was so cute, I wanted to put it in my pocket.
"This is just my clone. I'm a little annoyed that you're being so nice to him." Riddle and the little bat have the same tactile sensation, so any actions I take towards his clone will affect his original body.
"You're even jealous of yourself, Riddle," I said with a laugh, giving the little bat a kiss on the lips.
"Wait for me to come back." Riddle controlled the little bat to fly away.
"Hahahaha," I laughed as I stood up, opened the door, and left the classroom to return to my Slytherin dormitory.
Next up is exam week, and then it's time for exams and holidays again.
A group of us sat at a long table in Hufflepuff, and everyone seemed to be reading different books.
"I heard that Gilderoy Lockhart was badly injured by Hermione, and I wonder if that's why he was unlucky enough to be exposed for plagiarizing someone else's adventure stories."
Fred was there reading the Daily Prophet.
Gilderoy Lockhart is now a pariah, especially among his former readers, who are all turning their anger towards him and feel the need to unleash their magic spells on him whenever they see him.
"This is truly wonderful news," Hermione said, having been organizing her class notes when she heard Fred reading out news about her.
"Is Hermione now just as disgusted with someone she used to be?" Ron whispered to Harry.
“Ron, Hermione can hear you, she’s watching you right now.” Harry nudged Ron with his elbow, signaling him to keep quiet.
"Uh~" Ron turned his head and saw Hermione's death stare, then immediately lowered his head and pretended to be reading seriously.
"Fred, have you finished looking at the key points I highlighted for you?" I was holding a book, not even looking up.
"Uh~ Ayers, please have mercy, I just can't remember things." Fred grinned at me, silently placing the newspaper beside him.
"If you do well this year, I can reward you with 100 Galleons," I said casually as I turned the page.
"Really?" Before Fred could react, George answered.
"You're all the same. Whoever gets exceptionally good grades will be rewarded with 100 Galleons." How can there be motivation without a reward?
“Great, I feel full of power now.” Fred seemed to have been resurrected from the ground, full of power.
“Me too, my mind cleared up instantly.” George also picked up a quill and started reading seriously.
“Senior Ayers, I’d like to ask if we have this benefit?” Ron asked me cautiously.
"Yes, work hard." I glanced at Ron and Ginny.
“Great, Hermione, hurry up and teach me how to answer this question.” Ron immediately picked up the book in front of him and shoved it in front of Hermione, asking.
"If you had paid attention in class earlier, you wouldn't be asking this kind of question now." Hermione looked at Ron with a disappointed expression.
"Hermione, please help me." Ron himself didn't realize how ambiguous his relationship with Hermione had become.
"This is a notebook with detailed solutions. Just memorize it." Hermione knew Ron's character; explanations were useless. She just wanted him to memorize it by rote.
“Okay.” Ron took Hermione’s notebook and frantically memorized the information.
“Harry, do you need any help?” Cedric, sitting next to Harry, asked in a friendly manner. We all help each other out. Hermione, Cedric, and Percy are all top students, and if there’s anything you don’t understand, you can ask them as well, besides me.
"No need, thank you, Senior Cedric. I have Senior Ayers' notebook, I can study on my own." Harry declined Cedric's help. He could study on his own, and who could compare to Senior Ayers' notebook, who was ranked first in the entire year?
