Chapter 62 Return: Chapter 1 Potions Class
Chapter 62 Return: Chapter 1 Potions Class
I've never overslept before, but my biological clock was delayed today. I didn't wake up until 7 a.m., but thankfully I didn't oversleep for too long.
After tidying himself up, he left the Slytherin common room, glancing at the second-year timetable stuck to the wall as he left.
There's still a lesson with the teacher today. I really miss these guys I'm trying to woo; it's been a year since I've seen them.
As I stood in the Great Hall of Hogwarts, my gaze swept over the familiar scenes, and an indescribable sense of nostalgia welled up within me.
It has been a long time since I've been back to Hogwarts Castle, and everything here feels incredibly familiar.
Suddenly, my gaze was drawn to a figure.
It was a man wearing a black robe, and his back view looked somewhat familiar.
"Headmaster Snape, it's been a long time." Seeing Severus the moment I entered the Great Hall made me realize that today was a truly special day.
"Good morning, Mr. Ayers Hall." Severus was only slightly taken aback when he saw me suddenly appear behind him. When I greeted him happily, he simply returned the greeting.
"Ayers, over here~" Fred, who had just arrived in the Great Hall, energetically pulled me to sit at the Gryffindor table.
“It’s rare that you’re up late today, Ayers,” George said, sitting down on my other side.
I really miss being surrounded by the twins on the left and right.
“Indeed, you would never be seen at this time of day normally,” Oliver Wood said as he ate.
Oliver Wood, Percy, and Cedric sat across from us; it was quite a gathering today.
"I didn't sleep well last night, so I slept in a little longer this morning, which is rare." I couldn't possibly tell them that I had been out partying for a year last night, so I smiled slightly and nodded to Percy and Cedric, which was my way of greeting my two lovers this morning.
Severus didn't eat breakfast with the students; he ate in the professor's seat, observing the little snake that caught his eye as he ate.
Today, because a certain little troll overslept, he didn't get to eat breakfast in the cellar and had to come to the Great Hall for his meal.
Seeing that the little troll, who had just woken up late and seemed fine, was chatting and laughing with the Gryffindor lion cubs and the others from the Hedgehog House, his worries subsided. He had been worried that something had happened to the little troll, and as his guardian, he needed to find out.
While I was chatting with the twins, I glanced at Severus sitting on the professor's chair.
And so, my first morning back in the real world was spent. After breakfast, we went our separate ways to our respective classrooms.
The twins came with me. Today, Slytherin and Gryffindor had Potions class together again. I really don't know if it was arranged on purpose. This is the second year, and they are having class with Gryffindor again. Isn't this just a way to get points deducted from Slytherin's class?
With Slytherin around, how could Gryffindor possibly not deduct points from Slytherin's score?
As soon as I entered the classroom, I found myself alone at a desk, while Gemini and the others shared a desk.
In Potions class, I was able to prepare the potions on my own, so Professor S arranged a table for me to sit at, right next to the professor's podium. I had a feeling that I had become an assistant professor.
Or I could apply to see if I can become an associate professor.
As I was lost in thought, Severus strode into the classroom with his usual steady steps.
He wore a long black robe, and his eyes were cold and sharp.
When the students saw him walk in, they immediately quieted down and nervously sat in their seats.
Severus scanned the classroom, paused when he saw me, and then began calling roll.
His voice was deep and stern, sending a chill down the spine of every student.
"Today we are going to learn about a new potion—the Age-Enhancing Potion," Professor Snape said, his voice echoing through the classroom.
"This potion can make the person who drinks it age faster, but the production process is very complicated and requires strict adherence to the recipe and steps."
Severus walked to the front of the class and began to explain the formula and production method of the aging agent.
His explanation was very detailed, but he spoke very fast, which made it difficult for the students to keep up.
He would stop from time to time to ask questions and check whether the students had understood his explanation.
But he never asked me questions in class. He knew I had already learned the knowledge I had learned, so there was no need to ask me questions again.
After explaining the formula and production method, Severus had his students start making the aging agent.
He walked around the classroom, observing the students' actions and correcting their mistakes from time to time.
His requirements are extremely strict; any small mistake could lead to the failure of the potion.
But Severus never passes by my desk; he really trusts me completely.
The students were very nervous during the process of making the aging agent, afraid of making a mistake.
Especially the Gryffindor students, they all have to be 100% focused when facing Severus.
Severus's gaze put a lot of pressure on them, but they also knew that only by making their work seriously could they pass the course.
Finally, most of the students completed the production of the aging agent.
Professor Snape went to each student's desk and examined their potions.
Only when they walk up to my table will they have a satisfied expression on their face.
He turned around and his face was expressionless again, but the students knew that, apart from me who had never caused any problems, he was not satisfied with their performance.
“Apart from Ayers’ potions, all your potions have some problems,” Severus said, his voice still deep and stern.
“Some people’s potions are the wrong color, some people’s potions smell wrong, and some people’s potions don’t achieve the desired effect.” Severus picked up a bottle of potions, smelled it, and then frowned.
"This potion smells terrible, which means you didn't control the heat properly during the making process and weren't paying attention. Gryffindor loses 2 points," he said, then threw the potion on the table.
The students at the table who were criticized were truly innocent victims; they didn't dare to utter a sound even after their points were deducted, fearing that the professor would scold them even more harshly.
The students all lowered their heads, especially the Gryffindor students who dared not look up, for fear of being penalized for something unfounded.
The Geminis knew this all too well; they had lost quite a few points for their own academy.
“Except for Ayers, everyone else write me a 15-inch paper. Before the next class, I hope you will all review today’s material carefully and not make the same mistakes again. get out of class dismissed,” Severus said, then picked up the aging potion I had prepared and put it in the glass cabinet.
The other young wizards could only quickly pack up their things and leave the Potions classroom, fearing that they would be caught by Professor Snape.
Geminis, in particular, ran the fastest, leaving me behind and disappearing in an instant.
I just quietly packed my books and prepared to leave. Severus, whose memories haven't been unlocked, still won't accept me, and I have nothing to say to him now.
I haven't recovered from the trip yet.
Severus wanted to call me over for a chat, but seeing my departing figure, which I didn't even turn around to look back on, he didn't know how to persuade me to stay. He could only watch me leave the Potions classroom.
