Chapter 37 Exploring the Perilous Land of Spiritual Materials, the Female Lead Cleverly Breaks the S

Dai Yao and the little girl were transported to an unfamiliar place by the power of the Qiankun Mirror. Before them lay a valley shrouded in thick fog, eerie and reminiscent of the opening scene of a horror movie. Dai Yao rubbed her arms and whispered, "This place is so yin, isn't there some evil spirit?" The little girl peeked her head out from her sleeve and said in a childish voice, "I'm a little scared..." Dai Yao took a deep breath, feigning composure, "What are you afraid of? I'm here. A few demons and monsters can't hurt you." But a sense of unease crept into her heart.

An eerie atmosphere filled the valley, making her very uncomfortable, as if danger lurked in the shadows. She moved forward cautiously, each step extremely careful. Suddenly, out of the corner of her eye, she caught a glimpse of a flash of green. Dai Yao became alert, held her breath, and locked her gaze in that direction. "Come out, little one, I see you," she whispered.

A rustling sound came, and a small green figure peeked out from the bushes, its big eyes curiously observing Dai Yao. It was the little spirit! The little spirit turned to run away as soon as it saw Dai Yao, but Dai Yao reacted quickly, pulling out a shiny little toy and waving it in front of its eyes: "Want one? It's so much fun." The little spirit's eyes were instantly drawn to it, but after hesitating, it peeked out again and asked timidly, "Really?" "Of course it's true!" Dai Yao smiled, walked over, squatted down, and handed it the toy. "Here you go." The little spirit took it and played with it, its wariness of Dai Yao slowly dissipating. "Thank you, pretty sister!" Dai Yao gently patted its head and asked, "Little guy, do you know where what I'm looking for is?" The little spirit nodded: "I know, I can take you there!"

Dai Yao was overjoyed when she suddenly sensed a powerful aura approaching. Her expression changed: "Someone's coming..." She quickly shielded the little spirit behind her, her eyes sharp: "Who goes there? State your name!" "Thunder Spirit Sect, Thunder Breaker!" A burly man with a full beard stepped through the air, his body crackling with electricity, his aura imposing. Behind him followed Xue Ying, Ling Mu, and Xing Yan. Dai Yao thought to herself: Did they come as a group?

Lei Po immediately spotted the small trinket in Dai Yao's hand—the very clue he had been searching for. "Little girl, hand it over if you know what's good for you, or don't blame me for being impolite!" Dai Yao sneered, "Why should I? I found it first!" Lei Po, hot-tempered, immediately unleashed a powerful burst of lightning energy at Dai Yao. "Sizzle—" A bolt of lightning ripped through the sky and shot towards Dai Yao. Dai Yao reacted swiftly, picking up the little spirit and dodging. "Boom—" The lightning struck the ground, creating a large crater. "Is he serious?" Dai Yao was secretly alarmed. Not wanting a direct confrontation, she began to dodge Lei Po's attacks. Lei Po's attacks were swift, each leaving charred marks on the ground.

While dodging Lei Po's attacks, Dai Yao searched for an opportunity to counterattack. She was a seasoned transmigrator, experienced in countless battles. As she dodged Lei Po's attacks, her mind raced. She recalled the combat strategies she had studied before her transmigration; Lei Po's attacks, though swift, lacked sustained power. She calmly observed the brief pauses after each of Lei Po's attacks, seeking the best moment to strike back.

Lei Po assumed Dai Yao was scared and had hidden behind a boulder, so he lowered his guard and approached it. "Hide? Let's see how long you can hide!" Suddenly, Dai Yao launched an attack from behind the boulder, shooting a beam of magic towards Lei Po. The surrounding people were astonished, and Lei Po was caught off guard, but he quickly regained his footing and launched an even more ferocious attack. "A mere trick!" Lei Po sneered and unleashed another bolt of lightning.

Dai Yao was prepared. Her movements were lightning-fast. Just as Lei Po's lightning was about to strike her, her body twisted at an incredible angle, as light and agile as a willow branch in the wind. She sneered inwardly, 'Trying to hit me? Not so easy!' At the same time, her hands rapidly formed hand seals, so fast they created afterimages. She chanted incantations, and a powerful magical force gathered in her palms, then retaliated like an angry dragon. "Bang—" The two forces collided with a deafening roar, the aftershocks causing the surrounding trees to rustle and leaves to fall.

Dai Yao and Lei Po clashed fiercely, lightning and demonic energy intertwining, the roar deafening. Lei Po, as expected of a mid-stage Nascent Soul expert, unleashed powerful and sweeping attacks, leaving Dai Yao breathless. "Little girl, let's see how long you can keep jumping around!" Lei Po laughed arrogantly, and a thick bolt of lightning, like a raging dragon, struck down.

Just then, Dai Yao felt a chill run down her spine—Xue Ying had made her move! Alarm bells rang in Dai Yao's mind. She instinctively swerved to the left, several sharp ice spikes grazing her cheek and embedding themselves in the ground. "I almost died!" Dai Yao thought in shock. Her special ability kicked in; she sensed the bad luck emanating from Xue Ying. Dai Yao's eyes darted around, and she deliberately created an opening, pretending to be forced back by Lei Po's attack, seemingly struggling to keep up. Lei Po fell for it, triumphantly shouting, "Little girl, what other tricks do you have up your sleeve!"

Just when Lei Po thought victory was assured, Dai Yao's lips curled into a smile. She swiftly formed a hand seal, chanting incantations, and a strange pink smoke instantly billowed out. Caught off guard, Lei Po and the others stumbled around in the smoke like headless flies, coughing, their eyes watering and blurring their vision. Dai Yao, like a cunning fox, seized the opportunity amidst the chaos, disappearing into the valley faster than a rabbit in the blink of an eye.

Lei Po and the others shook off the smoke and found Dai Yao nowhere to be seen. "Damn it! She got away!" Lei Po slammed his fist into the ground in anger, leaving a deep fist mark. Xue Ying narrowed her eyes, a cold glint in them: "This little girl is interesting..." Ling Mu and Xing Yan exchanged glances, their chance had slipped away.

Hidden in the shadows, the Shadow Spirit watched all this, a sinister smile curving his lips: "The mantis stalks the cicada, unaware of the oriole behind... The real show has only just begun..." He pulled a black jade slip from his robes and whispered, "The plan has changed; the target has escaped..."

Dai Yao ran a long way before stopping, making sure she had shaken them off, and leaned against a crooked tree, panting. "Luckily I ran fast, or I would have been done for." She wiped away her sweat, secretly relieved. The pink smoke was a special sleeping potion she had concocted, which had always worked for escaping.

She pulled out the map she'd gotten from the little elf and began studying it. The map was crudely drawn; if the little elf hadn't assured her, she'd probably have used it to wipe her bottom. "According to the map, the special material is deep within the Misty Forest..." Dai Yao muttered to herself, gazing at the dense fog-shrouded forest ahead, its eerie atmosphere sending chills down her spine. "This atmosphere is terrifying." She shuddered, but for the sake of her artifact's advancement, she had no choice but to grit her teeth and go in.

Dai Yao cautiously stepped into the Misty Forest, the thick fog obscuring her vision. "This is even more foggy than a public bathhouse," she muttered, cautiously observing her surroundings. Suddenly, she heard a rustling sound ahead. She immediately stopped, holding her breath and staring intently. "Could it be some kind of demon or monster?" she prayed silently.

A figure slowly emerged from the mist. "Huh? This figure looks familiar?" Dai Yao squinted, trying to make out who it was. "Little girl, we meet again." A chilling voice rang in her ears. Dai Yao whirled around, and there stood a ghostly figure behind her, a sinister smile on its face. "It's like a persistent ghost!" Dai Yao exclaimed.

The Shadow Spirit slowly extended his hand, the black jade slip in his hand radiating an eerie aura. "Looks like your luck isn't so good..." he said, gently squeezing the jade slip. *Crack—*
