Chapter 11 Foodie (1 piece)

Chapter 11 Foodie (1 piece)

Time flies, and three years have passed in the blink of an eye.

Yunya is already four years old. The little one has lived these past few years peacefully, with only minor ailments like colds and fevers, but thankfully she has overcome them all safely.

A lot has happened in these three years. The biggest thing is that Wang Cuihua gave birth to another boy, and Kong Xiujuan also gave birth to a boy. Now their children are both one year old.

This year, Sun Zitao's sister-in-law, Liu Xiuju, gave birth to twin sons. Gao Qinglian was overjoyed and constantly talked about her great-grandson, showing him off everywhere.

However, Kong Xiujuan was no longer as timid as before. She also had a son, who was already a year old, a year earlier than Liu Xiuju.

No matter how hard the mother-in-law, Gao Qinglian, tried to find fault, she had no grounds to use. Besides, she was busy watching over her twin grandsons every day and didn't have time to cause trouble for the eldest son's family.

Xiaoyunya is now a total "foodie".

Her uncle and aunt both call her "Rice Bucket," a nickname that implies she must eat a lot to be described as having such a large appetite. Sometimes her uncle also calls her "Little Pig Baba."

…………

The weather was ridiculously hot in mid-June of the lunar calendar.

That noon, after lunch, Grandma bought some popsicles for the little girl to cool off. She licked the popsicles, and the melting sweet juice dripped onto her clothes.

A large, wet circle of shadow hung below her neck. She was still enjoying her food, unaware that her clothes were soaked.

Mu Shuyun asked, "Yun~, is your neck cold? Does it feel uncomfortable?"

The little girl shook her head and continued licking her popsicle. She ate with great relish, even to the point of complete absorption.

She ate two in a row, then her grandmother wouldn't let her eat any more, afraid that eating too much would cause a stomachache. Mu Shuyun and Granny Zhang each ate one of the remaining two.

The weather has been hot lately, and Granny Zhang is feeling cooped up at home, so she often comes over to the other side of the street to chat and gossip.

Her husband and son had gone out to weed the fields, and her youngest daughter had gone to another city to work with her aunt, Kong Xiufang. She was bored at home alone, so she came here to find some entertainment.

The most amusing thing is when Xiaoyun eats. It's so funny to watch, and it makes you realize how delicious food is.

She never chews her food slowly; she always wolfs it down. Sometimes I'm afraid she'll choke on her little throat.

One day, Yunya ate her usual three meals a day. For breakfast, she had a bowl of porridge, an egg, and a cornbread bun. For lunch, she had a bowl of rice with toppings, a bowl of radish soup, and some stir-fried vegetables. She wasn't very hungry in the afternoon and only drank a bowl of porridge.

At this time, my second uncle picked a ripe watermelon from the watermelon patch. After soaking it in cold water, it became cool and refreshing, sweet and mealy with a sandy texture. It was very refreshing to eat.

Yunya, who still had room to eat, joined the adults in eating watermelon. Grandma, seeing her eat several slices, asked, "Yun~ don't overeat, are you full now?"

The little one giggled and looked at his grandmother, saying, "Grandma, I'm full, but I still want to eat more. It's so sweet!"

Grandma patted her head affectionately and said, "Alright, you're full, don't eat anymore. There are still plenty of watermelons at home. If you want some later, I'll ask your uncle to pick some for you from the field."

That evening, Yunya's stomach began to swell, and she was so uncomfortable that she tossed and turned, unable to sleep. Her grandmother heard the noise and came over, touching Yunya's stomach and finding it swollen.

"What happened?" Grandma asked anxiously. Grandpa rushed over upon hearing the commotion and, upon learning that Yunya had eaten a lot of watermelon that afternoon, said, "She must have eaten too much watermelon and can't digest it."

So Grandpa quickly went to the village clinic to find a doctor. The doctor prescribed some digestive medicine for Yunya and told Grandpa and Grandma to pay attention to the child's diet and not to overeat. After taking the medicine, Yunya felt much better and slowly fell asleep.

Grandpa and Grandma breathed a sigh of relief and decided that they would pay more attention to Yunya's diet in the future.

This little guy is always causing us trouble.

The next morning, when Yunya woke up, her stomach was no longer bloated. Seeing her grandparents' worried expressions, she felt a little guilty.

"Grandpa and Grandma, I will listen to you from now on and I won't eat random things anymore," Yunya said sensibly.

Grandpa and Grandma smiled with relief, patted Yunya's head and said, "Good child, it's good to admit your mistakes and correct them. We will definitely pay attention to your diet from now on so that you can grow up healthily."

From then on, Yunya learned to control her appetite and stopped overeating.

Although she was very young, she understood the importance of healthy eating. Only she knew how uncomfortable it was.

Grandparents also paid more attention to Yunya's daily life, giving her more love and care.

She now eats a little less than before; she's content with just being full, but she doesn't want to overeat anymore. Having experienced the stomach pain from overeating once, she doesn't want to go through that again.

However, her appetite is still quite astonishing compared to children her age.

Sometimes Grandma wonders where all the food goes in such a small belly. She's not tall or fat, how can such a tiny person eat so much?

Where did all the food go?

Knowing she shouldn't let her eat too much, Mu Shuyun still couldn't bear to let the little one go hungry when she said she was hungry, so she indulged her time and time again.

This little foodie, pampered by all her relatives, has reaped the rewards of her love for food.

Her little face is chubby and she's incredibly cute.

Grandma bought her a pink dress. Wearing the pink dress, Yunya looked as adorable as a little princess from a fairy tale. She happily twirled around the room, showing off her beautiful new dress.

Seeing how adorable Yunya was, her family couldn't help but laugh. Just then, there was a knock at the door; it was Yunya's friends coming to play with her.

Yunya couldn't wait to run to open the door and play with her friends. They ran and laughed in the yard, spending a happy afternoon together.

As evening approached and the sun began to set, the children all went home. Yunya was also a little tired. She nestled in her grandmother's arms, listening to her grandmother tell stories, and slowly drifted off to sleep.
