Chapter 21 Lost in the Dreamland

Chapter 21 Lost in the Dreamland

Yun Yi passed through the portal of the void, and the scene before him suddenly unfolded like a scroll. From the star-studded abyss of the universe, he instantly stepped into another world of brilliance and wonder. Here, a riot of color, red, orange, yellow, green, blue, indigo, and violet intertwined, a dazzling sight that was almost blinding. Sometimes the sun shone gently, like a gentle brush of golden silk; sometimes it was obscured by dark clouds, the sky and earth shrouded in a gloom, followed by a storm. It was as if nature's emotions were unfettered and unbridled.

He realized he had entered a mysterious realm called "Dreamland," where reality and illusion intertwined, truth and falsehood were hard to discern. Every step he took could lead to a trap or the descent into an endless dream. A faint fragrance permeated the air, not the scent of flowers or grass, but an indescribable dreamlike aura that gently lingered on his nose, intoxicating him.

Yun Yi took a deep breath, trying to stay awake, but the scene before him shifted constantly like flowing water, giving him the illusion of being in a moving scroll. He felt as if he were being pulled by an invisible force, and his footsteps involuntarily moved forward, stepping onto the soft grass. The grass swayed gently, as if alive, responding to his steps with a rustling sound.

Suddenly, a familiar and distant voice sounded in his ears. It was his mother's gentle call: "Yun Yi, my child, you are finally back." The voice was filled with endless longing and expectation.

Yun Yi turned abruptly and saw a kind-looking woman in plain clothes standing not far away. It was the mother he missed day and night. Her eyes were filled with tenderness and kindness, as if they could embrace everything in the world. Yun Yi quickly stepped forward, wanting to embrace the long-lost warmth, but found that his mother's figure gradually blurred, as if it could be blown away by the wind.

"Mother?" Yun Yi stretched out his hand, trying to grasp the warmth, but only touched emptiness. "This can't be real, right?" There was a hint of trembling and uncertainty in his voice.

"Yun Yi, don't leave your mother. Stay in this beautiful dream." His mother's voice rang out again, a touch of sadness, but tempting him even more gently. Her figure flickered in the illusion, as if it would disappear at any moment.

Yun Yi's heart trembled. He knew this was just an illusion created by the Dream Realm, trying to confuse his mind. He clenched his fists and tried to remain calm. "No, I can't stay here. I have an unfinished mission." His voice was firm and powerful, as if it was a vow to himself.

Before he finished speaking, the scene around him shifted again. This time, he saw his father and the friends he'd played with. They were laughing and playing, as if time hadn't passed, everything frozen in the most beautiful moment. His father waved to him, a happy smile on his face, one filled with pride and expectation for his son.

Yun Yi stood there, a complex turmoil of emotions swirling within him. He longed for this reunion, this long-lost peace, but reason told him that this was only an illusion, a trap set by the dream world to ensnare him. He couldn't sink into it, or he would never be able to leave this world of intertwined illusions and realities.

"No, I can't be fooled by these illusions." Yun Yi took a deep breath and looked at his relatives and friends in front of him with a firm gaze, "I must find a way to leave here." His voice was full of determination and courage.

As he refused, the illusions around him began to distort and dissipate, as if torn apart by an invisible force. Yun Yi felt a strong sense of dizziness, but he gritted his teeth and tried to stay standing. He closed his eyes, calmed his mind, and tried to resist the intrusion of the illusion.

As all illusions faded, a vague memory flashed through his mind—the secret of the Dream Realm and a clue to escape. He seemed to see himself moving through this intertwined world of illusion and reality, each challenge making him more resilient and wiser.

"So that's how it is..." Yun Yi muttered to himself. He realized that the power of the dreamland stemmed from the desires and fears in people's hearts. Only by seeing through the illusions and strengthening one's faith could one find a way out. He opened his eyes. Although the surrounding scenery was still bizarre, his gaze became unusually firm.

He began to follow the clues in his memory, shuttling between various vivid dreams. Every conversation with the illusion became an opportunity for him to discern the truth and accumulate experience. He learned to listen to the voices in the illusion and find flaws; he learned to observe the details in the illusion and discover patterns from them.

Through challenge after challenge, Yun Yi gradually learned to control his dreams. No longer deceived by illusions, he transformed seemingly unfavorable factors into his own strengths. He learned to use the storms in his illusions to strengthen his will; he learned to use the sunshine in his illusions to illuminate his soul.

With each illusion he dispelled, he gained clues about how to leave the dreamland. Like a puzzle, these clues gradually pieced together a complete path to escape. He seemed to see himself walking towards the exit, exhausted but filled with hope.

The vibrant colors of the dreamland remained, but Yun Yi's state of mind was completely different. No longer moved by illusions, he observed this intertwined world of reality and illusion with a detached attitude. He spoke with his imagined loved ones, tears and laughter intertwined, the emotions complex and profound. But each exchange only strengthened his resolve to leave.
