Chapter 707 Early Holiday

As Xilun looked at the newspaper, he never expected that his troubles would be resolved in this way.

Pierce Sinkness was killed by Voldemort, becoming the second Minister for Magic to die in the war. This news quickly plunged the atmosphere in Hogwarts Great Hall to a freezing point.

Harry, sitting opposite him, had a complicated expression.

He certainly disliked Pierce Sinkness, but he wanted him killed by Voldemort even more. After all, he wasn't just a wizard; he was the Minister for Magic. His death would be a devastating blow to everyone.

“You were right again, Siron,” Ron said. “Voldemort really did attack the Ministry of Magic again, and look here—”

He pointed to a passage in the newspaper.

"Albus Dumbledore seems to have received advance warning, and the mysterious figure thwarted his plot as soon as he appeared. Nevertheless, many people were injured in the attack. Just five minutes ago, Auror Office Director Gadwin Robards repelled a giant snake and rescued Dorothy Arnold, a member of the Wizarding Examinations Authority who had just returned from Hogwarts yesterday."

There is another photo below.

It must have been taken hastily, so it's very blurry and shaky, but you can still tell at a glance that the witch lying on the stretcher has a slightly hunched back.

"Just as you predicted, she really is injured," Ron said in surprise.

Hermione instinctively wanted to retort, but in the end she just opened her mouth and said nothing.

She couldn't understand it. Dumbledore hadn't hidden his whereabouts; everyone knew he was always at the Ministry of Magic, and Voldemort certainly had too. So why would he attack the Ministry of Magic?

Just to kill a witch from the Wizarding Exams Authority?

This is clearly impossible, so it's difficult for her to explain what Xilun said as a coincidence.

But she wouldn't believe in divination so easily, so she chose to remain silent and pretend she hadn't heard anything.

"Poor professor," Harry whispered. "If she had listened to you, she might not have been hurt."

"No, even if she heard it, she would be hurt." Sirens shrugged. "Like Voldemort, he believed the prophecy of the messiah, decided to kill you, and then he died, becoming part of the prophecy."

"Believe it or not, it's all the same—what's the point of prophecy then?" Ron muttered.

"Of course it works," Sirius said. "Isn't it because of this that Dumbledore was able to stop Voldemort?"

"Also, I should be able to get a high score on my divination exam."

"That's true." Harry couldn't help but chuckle. "Even if she didn't want to, she would definitely give you a high score, after all, you predicted something that actually happened."

Their original plan was to visit Hagrid today.

But after this happened, Hagrid went to Hogsmeade early in the morning, supposedly to investigate whether there were any Death Eaters.

Professor McGonagall was worried that Voldemort might take advantage of Dumbledore's presence at the Ministry of Magic to lead the Death Eaters in an attack on Hogwarts.

Not only Hagrid, but also Professor Flitwick, Snape, and Slughorn left the school to search for the Death Eaters in the vicinity.

The good news is that so far, they haven't gained anything. But the bad news is that the school has decided to give them an early holiday.

After lunch, as everyone left the auditorium, they soon saw a new large notice posted on the bulletin board next to the auditorium.

Notice of advance holiday:

To ensure everyone's safety, the holiday, originally scheduled to begin next Friday, has been moved up to Monday. The train will arrive at Hogsmeade Station at 9:00 AM.

Please pack your luggage in advance and follow the instructions of the professors and class leaders to leave the school together.

Vice Principal:

Minerva McGonagall.

"Monday? That's the day after tomorrow!" Ron couldn't help but say. "School's out so soon?"

"They said it was to protect the students' safety," someone said.

"I still think it's safest to stay at Hogwarts."

"Yes, although Headmaster Dumbledore isn't here, there are other professors—"

"They can't protect that many people."

"That's right, it's better to have a holiday sooner. My dad said that as soon as I get back, our family will immediately head to France."

""

"That's great. I'm going to write to my mother and ask her to take me away from here."

People gathered around the bulletin board, some supporting the early holiday, others unwilling to leave, and they discussed it amongst themselves.

Xiren squeezed out of the crowd, frowning.

He didn't really care when the holiday started, since there wasn't much to do at Hogwarts anyway, so going back early was fine.

-

However, Dumbledore's curse had not been completely removed, and he had originally intended to resolve the matter thoroughly before leaving the school.

Unexpectedly, the holiday was brought forward, which disrupted his plans.

I don't know if Dumbledore will be back in the next couple of days. If not, I'll probably have to go to Number Twelve Grimmauld Place, but that should be fine; I can just make another trip.

Harry was quite happy about the school's decision to let the holiday start early, as it meant he could see Sirius sooner.

"I'd like to ask Professor Dumbledore if I could stay at Number Twelve Grimmauld Place for the rest of the holidays this year," Harry said to them as they returned to the common room. "Headmaster Dumbledore said before that the protective magic my mother cast on me will last until I'm an adult."

But I'll be seventeen soon, and there's no need for me to stay at the Dursleys' anymore, is there?"

"It's better to be careful," Hermione said. "Voldemort is getting more and more rampant. He's already killed two Ministers of Magic, and he might attack you while Hogwarts is on holiday. He's always wanted to kill you, hasn't he?"

"I can hide at Number Twelve Grimmauld Place," Harry waved his hand dismissively. "That's the headquarters of the Order of the Phoenix, protected by a lot of magic, including the Faithful Charm. As long as I'm there, Voldemort couldn't find me even if he pressed his face against the glass. What difference would that make from me being at the Dursleys'?"

Hermione thought about it and realized that Harry did have a point.

Moreover, Dumbledore is the keeper of secrets at Number Twelve Grimmauld Place, and he certainly wouldn't tell Voldemort this news like Peter Pettigrew did back then.

"Perhaps you could ask Sirius," she said. "If he agrees, you can go straight back with him after you get off the train."

"Ah, that's what I think too," Harry said.

The thought of spending the entire holiday with Sirius made him even happier, and he couldn't wait to leave school the next day.
