Chapter 706 The Worries Are Easily Resolved
"Nagini—" After listening to Siren's description, Dumbledore said softly, "Then, did you see clearly which floor of the Ministry of Magic the snake appeared on?"
"I don't know." Siron shook his head. "I only saw Professor Dorothy, who was the proctor, walk out of the elevator, and then all of this happened."
Professor Dorothy is the hunchbacked witch in the divination exam.
"Is that so?" Dumbledore nodded. "Then, are you sure what you're seeing is the Ministry of Magic?"
“That should be right,” Siron said. “Those magical paper airplanes—I’ve only ever seen that kind of communication at the Ministry of Magic.”
"Indeed," Dumbledore said thoughtfully. "Where is that crystal ball? I mean, the one you saw prophesied."
"I don't know." Xilun shook his head. "It's used for exams. Right now—it should be in the divination classroom."
""
"Go and see for yourself," said Dumbledore. "Come, grab my arm."
Xilun quickly reached out his hand.
After a dizzying moment, the two of them went from the principal's office to the classroom in the North Tower.
This wasn't the first time Siron had Apparated at Hogwarts, but it still felt magical. He secretly tried it himself, but the space in front of him didn't react at all, and he remained standing in the same spot.
This indicates that the restriction against Apparition within the castle is still in effect and has not been lifted, yet Dumbledore was able to bring him here from the Longroom.
Is it the principal's prerogative?
Or did his magic exceed the limit?
"Ah, found it."
At that moment, Dumbledore also found the crystal ball he wanted among a pile of crystal balls.
He waved his wand, and somehow the mist inside the crystal ball immediately dissipated, revealing the face of the hunchbacked witch, Professor Dorothy.
"This is what I saw—" Siren exclaimed in surprise, "Can a crystal ball still preserve prophecies?"
"Only a part," Dumbledore said, placing the crystal ball on the table beside him.
Xilun then realized that although there was an image inside, it was very blurry and seemed to have a connection problem, disappearing from time to time.
"The crystal ball can indeed preserve some prophecies, but the conditions are very strict," Dumbledore explained. "Most prophecies disappear quickly, and only those involving major events that can affect many people are preserved in the crystal ball for a longer period of time."
"I once saw a crystal ball, and the prophecy inside didn't completely disappear for eleven years."
Siren knew that Dumbledore was referring to the savior prophecy made by Sybil Trelawney.
However, it seems that his prediction that "the contact will be damaged in less than two days" is not very important.
"Sirlen, this is very important news." Seemingly guessing Sirlen's thoughts, Dumbledore smiled and shook his head, saying, "I dare say that while you were taking your exam yesterday, the same prophecy had already appeared in a room in the Department of Mysteries and has been preserved forever. Not everyone can do that."
He glanced at the time.
"I'm sorry, Sirius, I have to rush back to the Ministry of Magic immediately. There are some things that need to be arranged beforehand. Can you go back by yourself? If you go to the Great Hall now, you should be able to make it in time for dinner."
Before Dumbledore could finish speaking, he had already disappeared from the classroom.
With no other option, Siron had to lower the rope ladder himself down to the North Tower and then back to the auditorium.
When he arrived at the Great Hall, Harry, Ron, and Hermione were waiting by the stairs. They were all surprised to see him coming from another direction.
"Sirlen? You, weren't you in the Headmaster's office with Dumbledore?" Harry asked in confusion.
"Yes, it was before, but then he took me somewhere else," Celen said. "And what did you talk about with the Minister of Magic?"
"Oh, don't even mention it!" Harry said, his face looking ashen, as if he'd just eaten a turd.
"That Pierce Sinkness is even worse than Fudge," Harry couldn't help but complain. "He wants me to join the Ministry of Magic and then go around giving speeches, telling people that the Ministry of Magic—especially himself—has been fighting Voldemort with all his might."
"You agreed?" Xilun asked.
"Of course not, why would I do such a thing?" Harry blurted out. "I didn't want to play this boring game with him, so I told him I couldn't give a speech and to find someone else to do it."
"You didn't see the look on Pierce Sinkness's face, as if I had made a huge mistake by rejecting him."
Harry's expression grew even uglier, and his tone became increasingly agitated.
"Anyone who doesn't know the situation would think I started this war. They would say that if I gave a speech, the war would end, and if I didn't, I would be a sinner who disrupts peace."
"Sounds like another Umbridge," Ron muttered.
"It's hard to say which one I hate more," Harry said.
"Luckily, Dumbledore appeared in time and stopped him from continuing. Otherwise, I can't guarantee I wouldn't have punched him."
"Then you're probably the only one who dares to hit the Minister of Magic," Ron said in an exaggerated tone.
It was clear that he wanted to tell a joke to lighten the mood, but it didn't work.
Neither Harry nor Hermione spoke.
Xilun rubbed his forehead in exasperation.
The war has begun, and their Minister of Magic is not thinking about how to fight back against the Death Eaters, but is only trying to gloss over the situation with speeches, and is ignoring Dumbledore's advice—is such a person really okay?
He wouldn't surrender and betray us after Voldemort stormed the Ministry of Magic, would he?
Xilun quickly shook his head, no longer dwelling on this absurd idea.
He could only console himself by saying that Dumbledore was also in the Ministry of Magic, and that he certainly wouldn't let Pierce Sinkness act recklessly in a critical moment.
But even Xilun himself doesn't know how credible this claim is.
Dinner was indeed plentiful, but none of them had much of an appetite. After eating a little, they returned to the common lounge.
The next day, Hogwarts officially entered its holiday period.
Meanwhile, the problem that had plagued Celen all night was suddenly solved after the owl delivered the new Daily Prophet.
[The mysterious figure attacks the Ministry of Magic again, but is stopped by Dumbledore. During their battle, Minister for Magic Pierce Sinkenness is struck in the back by the Killing Curse and dies instantly!]
"Very good----"
Harry jumped up, but before he could finish speaking, several pairs of eyes looked at him at the same time.
"No, I—"
Harry clutched his robes tightly, giving an awkward smirk. "I, I mean—thankfully, Headmaster Dumbledore was there; it was so good that he stopped Voldemort."
