Ron frowned as well. He really didn't want to see things like this, but he could sense that launching a rash attack now would be extremely arbitrary.

“I admit your plan is indeed useful, but it could very well lead to our total annihilation. Our warriors are not very strong, and they could be easily killed when faced with these curses. Therefore, I think we should not launch a war against them lightly unless absolutely necessary.”

Taiichiro almost shouted.

"Are you now planning to join the cursed side? Look at what they've done, don't you feel even a little anger? They've killed so many people and just dumped them there, is this something a human being could do? And now you're trying to stop us from starting a war, what are your true intentions?"

Ron never expected that Taiichiro would yell at him like that, and it was clear that Taiichiro was very angry and agitated, his whole body trembling.

This was not only because those people died at the hands of the curse, but also because Ron opposed his consciousness and had no intention of advancing against the curse, which made Taiichiro very angry.

Ron said.

"I'm not trying to compromise with them, but I want to figure out the current situation and what's really going on. Only by understanding the truth can we make the right decision."

As Ron was walking in that direction, Taiichiro suddenly blocked his way, drawing his twin swords and pointing them at him.

"If you insist on going, then let's fight to the death."

Ron looked at Taiichiro with some surprise.

Why are you doing this? Do you really resist knowing the truth?

Taichiro said angrily.

"The facts are right in front of you. What other truth do you want? Don't you believe your own eyes? Or don't you believe me?"

At this point, he had already turned his knife around, and one could feel the sharp aura emanating from him. If Ron insisted on going, he would attack Ron.

Ron was surprised that Taiichiro had suddenly become like this, although the corpses on the ground made Ron understand Taiichiro's anger.

However, launching an attack on the other side without understanding the truth of the matter will only result in more casualties on your side.

Ron knew that the people they could mobilize were no match for the cursed ones. If they attacked rashly, they would likely suffer heavy losses and achieve no results.

Ron's natural thought was to find out the truth first before making a decision. Now was not the time to act rashly. They were already much weaker, but Taiichiro's actions were undoubtedly dragging them into a fire pit.

Just then, Ron made a sudden move. Before Taiichiro could react, he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his neck. He lost consciousness in an instant and fell to the ground. Ron knocked him unconscious in that instant.

He then immediately helped Taiichiro up, took him to a room to rest, and went alone to the cursed castle.

The woman was very surprised when she saw Ron, because Ron had only left not long ago, so why had he returned?

She looked at Ron with a smile.

"Is there anything else you need?"

Ron shook his head and said.

"I find your place very comfortable and would like to stay here for a while longer."

Chapter 20, Investigating the Incident

The girl looked at Ron with some surprise. Ron had previously been very reluctant to live here, and she had even suggested that Ron stay. However, Ron had always refused. But today, he suddenly had a change of heart and wanted to stay here for a while longer.

She said immediately.

"Then I'll prepare a room for you right away."

At this point, the girl immediately commanded the curses to make room for Ron. This room faced outwards, allowing Ron to see the entire castle from here.

Ron immediately thanked the girl and then went into his room.

Ron spent the entire night looking around the room. He could see clearly outside through the room, but the curses didn't appear by nightfall, and the entire castle was silent. Ron didn't find anything suspicious.

This surprised Ron. He knew from the information he had gathered that these curses would act at night. Just then, Ron suddenly heard a clear knock on the door, so he immediately went to open it.

Unexpectedly, a young girl was standing outside the door. She looked at Ron and said with a smile.

Are you settling in well here?

Ron nodded and said.

"Of course I'm used to it."

The girl said with a smile.

"I thought you were having a hard time adjusting to living here since it's your first time here, after all, this isn't a place for ordinary people to live."

Ron smiled, then changed the subject.

"Don't they come out at night?"

The girl looked at Ron with some surprise.

"Nighttime is for sleeping, of course. Who would be out and about at night?"

Ron frowned slightly and asked again.

"During this time here, I have felt that you and humans get along very well, but recently I have heard that there have been reports of people going missing in some places. I wonder if you are aware of this."

In fact, Ron had no idea that any humans had gone missing, but when he saw the bodies, he knew that someone must be missing, but no one had noticed.

When he asked the question, he carefully observed the girl's expression, but the girl's expression seemed very natural. She shook her head and said...

“We haven’t heard of this. We’ve been staying in this area all this time, so we don’t know anything about what’s happening outside.”

The place Taiichiro showed Ron happened to be outside. Ron thought the girl was saying this to clear herself of suspicion, but he was convinced that the girl was a suspect, so he continued.

"Those missing people should live in this area, but I think they may have disappeared in different places, but the reason for their disappearance is the same."

The girl looked at Ron and said.

"If someone were truly missing, it should have been reported much earlier, but we haven't received any news until now. We don't know where you got this information from."

Throughout this process, Ron kept observing the girl's expression, but to his disappointment, the girl acted very naturally, and it was clear that she did not seem to be lying, which made Ron feel uncertain.

The girl suddenly stood up and said to Ron.

"I know you've been doubting us, but this matter has absolutely nothing to do with us. If anyone really goes missing, I can help you find them and uncover the truth. However, I hope you can view this matter objectively and not be swayed by preconceived notions."

Ron was surprised that the girl would bring it up herself, and he nodded repeatedly.

"Of course, I would not suspect someone without reason. However, it would be best if you could help us investigate this matter. With your help, we will surely find out the truth soon."

The girl nodded and said.

"No problem, we'll take care of it."

Although Ron didn't trust the girl, now that he had this power, he knew it would be much easier to find out the truth.

So he found an opportunity to take the girl to see the horrific scene. When the girl saw the corpses, her face immediately turned very pale.

Moreover, she could sense a faint aura of curse emanating from the vicinity of these corpses, which proved that a curse had indeed been present here.

“I know you have grounds for your suspicions; there is indeed a strong aura of curses here, but I will never allow my curses to do such a thing.”

The girl said, and then she went to the corpses and carefully examined some of them. When she turned over a corpse, she suddenly found two small red dots on the neck. Upon closer inspection, she discovered that they were actually two needle marks.

She suddenly stood up and said to Ron.

"I suspect this was man-made, not killed by a curse."

Ron also noticed the needle marks. He could sense that the deaths of these people were very strange. When Taiichiro brought him here before, he only glanced at them briefly and did not observe them carefully.

Moreover, he was already out of his mind at that time. Although he didn't know if it was the work of a curse, he knew that someone had harmed these people. He was extremely angry and wished he could drag that person out immediately.

However, after regaining some of his senses, he carefully examined the corpses and discovered that they were not as simple as he had imagined.

The people in the first group all had small red dots on their necks, but the people in the second group had no wounds at all, and their deaths were even more gruesome than those in the first group.

Their expressions were almost all distorted, their bodies were covered with strange spots, and their hands and feet were twisted, presumably broken by a tremendous force.

The girl said.

"If it were truly the work of a curse, they wouldn't have made such obvious moves. And although they all had a faint aura of a curse on them, if the curse had really killed them, the aura on their bodies should have been very strong."

These auras only indicate that the curse was present here, but they don't necessarily mean that they were responsible.

Ron said.

"Since the curse came here, why didn't it report to you?"

The girl shook her head.

"So far, I don't know what's going on, but I can gather all those curses together and hear their opinions."

At this point, the girl immediately sent out a signal, and moments later the area was filled with curses.

The girl pointed to the corpses scattered on the ground and spoke to the curses.

Has anyone been here before and knows anything about this place?

One of the curses emerged from the crowd, and he spoke.

“I’ve been here before, but I didn’t see any bodies when I arrived. I just stayed here for a while and then left.”

Chapter 21, Strange and Unsettling

Ron carefully sensed the aura on the curse, which was almost identical to that on the corpse. Therefore, Ron could conclude that the aura on it was indeed left by the curse.

Ron said.

What evidence do you have to prove that you only came here?
